I have fav characters not fav pairings. I'll ship my fav character with anyone. [whistles innocently]
I'm ridicously fond of Vlad/Jack, Danny/Ghost Writer, Tucker/Technus, and Sam/Valeire/Paulina.

~I'll read just about any pairing. Slash or non-slash. But only if the author has a realistic reason for them to be together. If it's just nonsensical, then I don't like them. Most of the stuff tends to be Danny/Sam or Danny/Valerie, though, just because those are the most prevalent pairings. I read one that was Tucker/Paulina, and it was pretty good ^_^

~There probably are Vlad/Danny shippers out there. I haven't seen any fanfiction or art about it, though. Hmm...I'm going to have to go look, now.

I refuse to read any Danny/Sam. It's cheesy and overdone.
Besides, a lot of the time when people have a crush on a friend, it's just because they want love from somebody, and interpret the friend's love in a romantic way. Sam seems like the type who'd do that. Even though her parents probably love her (in their slightly judgemental way), she probably views herself as unloved. And the only times that Danny has expressed interest in Sam is when he's recently been dumped, almost lost Sam, or is losing Sam's attention. Most people feel jealous when a close friend gets a boyfriend or girlfriend, just because they're losing the friend's attention.
Plus, Sam isn't Danny's "type". That sort of thing doesn't matter when you're older, but at that age, it's a big deal. If I had to ship anything, it would probably be Danny/Valerie, since they HAVE shown that they're capable of liking each other. Mostly I'm a non-shipper.
& I agree that Romeo and Juliet just had a teenage shallow relationship, but kids that age DO date, and they DO think they're in love.

Because Danny's fourteen, I think that any love interest would be due to his raging hormones. I'm not saying that it's impossible to fall in love while your 13-16, but most relationships at this age tend to be....experimental? Kind of like a time to get used to dating and keep the mistakes you make for future reference.

But really, I have always shipped DannyxSam. Most of the time, I don't do the whole best friends fall in love thing, but you know... I find it cute here, same with Kim Possible. Talk about opposites, Kim and Ron had to be from different planets and they are together and when Season 4 comes out Steve Loter and the gang had already said there will be no drama in their relationship(ex. breaking up), their relationship was meant to be and it isn't breaking up.
Sorry, wrong fandom! lols. Just making an example of another show where the two best friends hook up.
