There wasn't much to Shiela. She had long red hair, green shirt, black pants, green shoes, goofy looking blue thing, and black gloves with green straps. Jade green eyes looked out on the world, with an apparant cynicisem, seeming too old for her young age.
"I think it's pretty good. They play a good mix of music... Unless you're a country and western fan," she said with a shrug, as she looked over the blond girl. She remained polite, once she had looked Akemi over, but she was not exactly impressed with her soft blond prettiness.
Shiela was a girl who had already been chewed up and spit out by the high school food chain. Akemi looked like one of those who would be a member of the main cliques.

"I hate country," Akemi states with a disdainful air, "I love listening to rock though, normally the alternative stuff." She glances around them, her vision scanning the variety of stores in the area, "how about a museum? I haven't seen much of the area, and I'm just trying to figure out what's where," she asks them, cocking her head to the left very slightly. Her bright green eyes catch a woman walking by, guady jewelery hanging off of every inch of the woman's body, "She needs to be careful, she looks like easy pickings," Akemi smirks to herself, her mind getting slightly off track.

"You know, there isn't a museum, and that's something we need to work on, but it would take so much to fund it. There really would have to be a community effort to get such a thing started. Donations, volunteering, sponsorship by local businesses.
But there are all kinds of eateries, places to shop, and cultural activities. There's going to be a theatre opening up soon, so I hear."
He smiles with a mixture of pride and sadness. "We're a small town, still..."
Nate looks from girl to girl, and realizes that there's some kind of scanning and prejudging going on--but he doesn't comment. This is an awkward place for a male to be....

Nathanael Nevermore This is an awkward place for a male to be.... ((Ain't it the truth... biggrin )) "Small, but nice," Shiela observed. "I bet Heather would get behind an effort for, like a science museum. Those are fun. Especially the hands-on experimentation... A theater? really? Stage, or movie?"

Akemi turns her attention back to the people in front of her, focusing on what Nathanael said, "I might help with it, I've visited art museums and a couple of science museums...art is my favorite though," Akemi thinks about the theater, wondering about the options, "for actors? If it's live plays, I think that'd be cool, hard to find some classic stuff--mostly copycats these days." She turns and grins at Shiela, "What do you do? School, side job, hobbies, anything like that?" Akemi knows she's being nosy--but that's the best way to learn; dig deep, scout, and finalize...easiest way to go about things. "I dabble in everything, but so far, school and gaming is my past-time, not much to be proud of though..." She snickers at herself, realizing that's probably the nerd answer of the year..."eh, run 'em for a loop."
(I'd willingly make the museum--could work on the basic items)

"Right now, I'm slave labor, uh, I mean an intern at WTMI. Yeash, a couple of prank phone calls, and I'm stuck running around town with price lists," Shiela said with a shrug. "At least that initiation is over..."

Akemi smiles at the reply, tossing a couple of anwers around in her mind. "At least it gave you something to do," she grins, finally picking one. "Hey, you mentioned eateries before, what kind?" she directs her question to Nathanael, but couldn't care less on who answered. "I've only seen these little stops, and I'm not much of a sweets person, I like more spicy foods." Her eyes land on one of them, a shop full of candies and brownies and cakes, and Akemi wrinkles her nose at the sight, "eww, that'll make you sick."

(About the museum thing, if it interests you, feel free to take charge of it.)
"The best place in town to eat is Naturae, by far... It's all natural, good-for-you stuff, and I know the owner, he's really friendly." He thinks a bit about Mike, and decides that's the understatement of the century.
Then he looks just a little stressed, pulling a bandanna out of his pocket and padding his face just a little. "How is the radio station working out, by the way? Do you guys have a good listener base?"

"Heather says that pratically everybody in Crosshaven listen to it. Somebody named Nina even complained about Blasphemi's Crack Radio... I guess for a shock jock, that's high praise..." Shiela said, trailing off. If Nathanael listenes to CR, then he's probably going to reconise the voice of the person who made the crank call about him, recently.
"Ah... You know, you've got the price list, and all the pertant info, right?" Shiela asked, suddenly nervious. "I'd better get back... I might have more errands to run..."

Akemi nods at Nathanael's answer, turning over some possiblities, 'might be good, not much for all-natural though--I like my hamburgers a little too much, once in awhile shouldn't hurt--I'll have to learn to cook now...should've listened to Mom,' she snickers to herself, deciding to check Naturae out at a later date. When Shiela gets ready to leave, Akemi smiles at her, "alright, I'll see you around, maybe I'll visit the station." She gives the girl a wave, while letting her thoughts drift a little bit, 'University...check, museum...not yet, place to eat...maybe. Shouldn't be bad--this just gives me enough time to get ready.'

"That'd be cool," Shiela said, as she sidled away, before Nathanael could realize that she was the one who called in the threesome to Crack Radio. "We're always looking for interns, if you need part time work... WellIreallygottago! Bye!"

He laughs a little at the comment about Nina. Of course she didn't like Crackradio. "Good afternoon, miss Sheila...and thanks again for the information. I'll be placing reservations for air time soon enough." He waves as she retreats, and turns back to Akemi.
"I'm a vegetarian, or an 'herbivore' as my sister likes to call me, so Naturae works out well for me. Those girls at the radio station are tireless, I'll tell you that much. It's best not to give Blasphemi something to gossip about, she'll descend upon a man's image like a pack of ravenous wolves and tear it to shreds. It's best to stay under their radar. I'm in the public eye, I am always fair game, though I hope that the spotlight will turn away from me after my term ends.
So, tell me more about you, Akemi? Your passions, your ideas for your future? What kind of person has just moved into my midst?" His voice is gentle, compelling her to respond.

"Like I said, I'm more studious, and very outspoken. I used to be in debate--public speaker, I think it's just 'cuz I was rash.
I don't have much planned, I'm trying to dabble in everything...especially in science, I really like Biology. I might become a vet someday, I think it would be fun!" Akemi replies to Nathanael happily, quite glad to talk about herself-as long as certain details were left out.
"I learn a lot about history, the only problem is I don't quite remember it--memory problems," she laughs bluntly, obviously laughing at herself. "I couldn't care less for current events, and I tend to exaggerate--makes life so much more interesting." Akemi green eyes are flamboyant, bits of the stories she used to tell coming right back.

"I was involved in debate," he says with an old, competitive smile. "Back in my school days, but I haven't had to stand behind a podium since."
He listens, learning what she will give him, and does not pry her for anything else. "Let me ask you, are you in any way educated in politics? Speeches, political debate? Anything like that?"
