Sirius rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to live that down, am I? Saying that I was afraid of crabs... Oh, and Squid Bait? That's a creative nickname." He, chuckled, shaking his head. "I would love to know how mind worked, Firecracker."
He looked out into the raging sea, "I like storms to, but I'd rather not drown tonight. Any good place nearby to watch? That preferably would not kill us?"

"Sure, just follow me." Celosia steered them off the cliff, in the direction of the forest. From there you could get a good view of the ocean, and once the storm got too bad they could retreat and find shelter.
As they walked she explained the nickname. "Ever seen a squid? They have lots of limbs, with round sucker things on them. And they squirt out black stuff to hide them so they can run from ya. You look like you fought with a squid." She chuckled a little.

Sirius followed Celosia, taking one last look at the churning sea. He was glad they were heading by the forest, there wasn't any sand there to walk on.
When she brought up his nickname he laughed, "I've never seen a squid." He paused, looking down at his fur, chuckling a bit. "but it does look like I got in a fight with something that attacks with black stuff, doesn't it?"

Celosia laughed. "You came out of the ocean, I came out of a volcano. What an odd pair we make." She was still chortling even as they made it to the trees. The idea was just so amusing to her. Both forces were beautiful, powerful, and destructive. Best friends and mortal enemies. It cast an interesting light over what their relationship might develop into.

Sirius smirked, letting what Celosia just said sink in, and trying to come up with something to say that wouldn't sound too cliche. Opposites attract wasn't really the right thing to say. Which, under any other circumstances he would have said. But he had a feeling that if he said that he would lose her, or give her another thing to pick on him about.
"Well, if you go on appearances, yeah, we make an odd pair. But putting appearances aside, we're not that different." He paused, giving her time to butt in, and giving him more time to think about what his point was.

"It goes along with my analogy. Fire and water are supposed to be opposites, but no one ever looks at the things the elements share." She could go on and on about all the things that were similar between the two, but that would just have been rambling.
"They're unceasing and endless," she said instead. It was true, and about the best summery she could have made.

"Yeah. I didn't really think about that..." Sirius faded off, wishing that he could see the bigger picture and think more outside of the box. After thinking on that a bit more he added, "But now that I am thinking about that, you're right. There are so many similarities. So you can constantly learn something new about them."
He stopped for a moment and looked back at the ever growing storm. He would assume that they were safe where they were, but he didn't know much about storms by the oceans.
"Think we'll be safe here to watch the storm?" He asked, putting his attention back to her.

Celosia looked back at the ocean. The wind was already whipped waves up high, coming farther up the beach than they normally did. The land being so flat around here, storms always brought a touch of worry.
"We should be, but I'm not sure." She snorted. "The ocean is the ultimate in unpredicatable. If the storm gets real bad real quick, well-" She looked at the teal male, and finished her statement with a question. "How well can you swim?"

Sirius looked worried. "I can swim, I've never swam in the midst of a storm though." He shrugged it off. "Maybe that squid I got in a fight with gave me some magical swimming power." He chuckled.
"I'm guessing you can swim, Firecracker. Seeing that you love the ocean so much." He paused, thinking something along the lines of 'Waterproof Fire,' which probably fit Celosia perfectly.

Celosia laughed. "Sure I can swim, Merman. But being in the ocean during a storm is an honor I usually pass up." She lightly flicked him with her tail in a teasing manner.
At that moment the storm decided to announce it's presence, and with a bang. The flash of lightning was so bright it was blinding, and the following thunder boomed before the light even had a chance to fade. Celosia felt the earth rumbled beneath her paws.

Sirius smirked, looking back at the sea again. "I guess that's a smart idea, avoiding swimming during the storm." He paused, watching her tease him. "I'm not much of a Merman, but I think a merman would even have trouble in swimming in this mess."
He jumped back a bit when the lightning struck, almost cringing at the thunder because it was so loud. "Do want to go further into the forest to make sure we're safe, or do you want to take a risk and stay here?" He asked with a wild grin.

"Well, being as I like being red and firey rather than black and crispy, I'd imagine moving a bit further back would be a good idea. Give the lightning more things to strike, and all that lovely survivor lore for storms." She laughed. "Unless you'd like to prove your prowess against nature. It would be churlish for me to back off towards a safer spot then."

"I'd like you to stay red and fiery, so let's get moving further in." Sirius said, nudging Celosia gently in the side. "Oh and listen, I love how you think so highly of me, but I'm no superhero. I wouldn't want to test nature. It can be dangerous."

Celosia laughed, though the sound was drowned out in yet another peal of thunder. "I'd be worried if you were a superhero! It's so irritating to be around perfect people." Goodness knows, she had met enough people like that in her life!
