The Kami paused, thinking.

"Yes, I did notice that. I'm afraid I don't have an answer to that either. Could this be a farce?"

"No... you saw witness to it just as surely as I did. Those many years ago, when my conflict with Derahci was settled, Ryn shed his shadow. Plus I've had a, well... near-death doesn't exactly describe the experience."

Arannis shuddered for a moment.

Eri frowned, confused, but knew better than to ask.

"Kami isn't sure whether or not he can be trusted. The events of the past are too.."

She paused, visions of the horrors that she had witnessed flashing through her mind.

Arannis looked to Eri, his gaze full of understanding.

"The thing is, Eri... had he not spared me in that very experience, I would not have survived to return as Revealed. There would have been no hope at all. To be strictly honest... I owe him the lives of those we *did* manage to save in that dreadful incident."

He chuckled a moment.

"And for the love of all life, there is no more need to hide oneself. Derahci fell, Tanaka returned to Celestial renown. We have nothing to fear of any knowledge of our origins."

She smiled apologetically.

"I'm sorry. Old habits tend to die hard. I suppose you are right though. Kami will...no, I will do my best to look past all of this and give him a fair chance."

Arannis looked upward some.

"It's interesting. All this time I'd known you as my superior in strength and judgment. Now I understand your view to me during all those times. I was wrong to judge, especially since I have always despised such acts. I want you to know that much, and I do apologize."

Eri shook her head, smiling.

"Please, there is no reason to apologize. Judging is a natural thing to do. I judged Ryn, and it will take me some time to form a new opinion of him."

"This is true."

Arannis sighed, recalling at once so many adventures, several of which happened at Eri's side.

"Do you remember when this all began, back on Celestia?"

Eri nodded. She had done a lot of remembering in the many years that had past. Celestia had once been a beautiful place, full of peace and harmony. It was unfortunate that it was all short lived.

"Celestia..."

She spoke the name reverently, a mere whisper in the wind.

Walking outside of the city, Ryn stopped after awhile and laid down on the grass underneath a tree. As the wind blew his through his hair, he watched the blue sky, unaware of Adalyia was still watching him.

Arannis' eyes flickered a dim silver a moment, before returning to their natural light blue. He looked away from Eri, to where he found Ryn laying idle.

"Eri, I ask this much; if things turn sour, leave me. You've seen enough already..."

He stood slowly, coming and resting a knee on the ground next to Ryn.

"I know things have changed since we last parted, Ryn. You're not the vile fiend you once were. Why, then, are you here?"

Ryn closed his eyes, and let the wind continuously blow through his hair, and through his somewhat unbuttoned shirt, the tie hanging loosely from the collar.

"Am I not allowed to travel without subjugation of having some purpose? I'm just wandering around now, no real goal. I still have Tsukihana though, in case I have to defend myself."

Arannis slipped into memory, recalling his days when he had literally been in half a dozen seperate places as many different things, all at once.

"I do what I can not to judge, Ryn, but you know as well as I do that events of the past 110 years have made your face a widely known one, and in no great renown..."

He turned his gaze out to the skies.

"I do apologize for your family's deaths, though..."

Ryn laughed to himself somewhat.

"You aren't as omnipotent as you claim. The three are alive, and well. I gave Hades my entire power of Darkness, to let them be reborn again. I have no idea where they live now, but that doesn't matter, as another condition was that they would have no memory of me, as a result of being reborn."

Arannis nodded, sitting down.

"Perhaps when one simply cares nothing for what seems beyond hope, one fails to acknowledge any sign of things. As for your siblings... I, for one, believe you did them well in allowing them a second chance at life."
