"Why should I trust you?" Gan could tell that this wasn't the kind of person he would want to spend much time with. Instinctually, he looked for potential weapons, escapes, entrances, and weaknesses. The book looked like it could knock someone cold, but after that, it would probably fall part due to its age. If he had the time or energy, he could probably climb atop the bookcases and quickly jump across them towards an exit, or he could simply run on the ground next to them. The exits also seemed to serve well as entrances for anyone who might try to help this gray-haired person. He himself seemed very formidable and able to take care of himself, and since they are in a Lemurian library, combat should be avoided for the time being. I'm very sorry for offending you, stranger. I was just interested in the lighthouses, and this book looked like it had more than enough information about the topic. The stars seem extremely valuable. So, why would you be studying them?

"Don't get in my way..."Ryugi grumbled. He was offended that the guy was essentially in his personal space and not respecting his privacy. Seriously. And now, after invading his privacy and interrupting his train of thought, this guy had the nerve to ask him about what he was doing?! I don't see how what I'm doing is any of your business. He was liking this guy less and less, and if he wanted the Elemental Stars, that made him Ryugi's enemy. Those things were too powerful to be in any one person's hands. And if that meant Ryugi would have to take this guy out before he had a chance to learn more about them, then so be it...

Gan Haesho "Why should I trust you?" Something wasn't right here. This man's extremely defensive and secretive attitude told him that he was either really mad about an event that recently happened to him, or what he intended to do with the information on these lighthouses was not by any means benevolent. Not that Gan's reasoning was exactly nice, but this guy looked like he had far worse plans than himself. I see. I'm very sorry to have intruded upon your studies.Gan began to back away from the stranger, not intending to be within his presence any longer. The bookshelves were, at this point, within reach, so climbing up them to escape would be feasible, but upon closer inspection, the stability of the bookcases are in question, as they appear to be very old. But if they can carry so many books...Well, let's just hope Gan won't have to use them anytime soon.

Just what's your business with the Elemental Stars!? Ryugi set the book down and followed after the man, his hand reaching for Ragnarok on his back. As long as Ryugi could stop them, he'd put a stop to anyone who wanted the stars to control the power of the lighthouses for themselves. Thoughts and desires like that were thoughts that destroyed Prox, and killed his parents. And he'd be damned if he was gonna let another Prox happen if he could stop it. He brandished Ragnarok, pointing the weapon at the young man before speaking again.
Start talking, or I'm gonna start tearing you apart... Gan didn't have to ask himself if Ryugi was serious. The red eyes of the fire adept were as serious and determined as one could get. Ryugi wouldn't kill Gan, that wasn't his style, but then again there was no way of Gan knowing that...

Hmm...Well, I don't intend on using the stars for anything, but if worse comes to worst, they would probably catch a high price on the market. Only if I absolutely had to, though. They don't seem like something to play around with.Gan gave a quick nod, signaling that he had finished his answer to the question and was prepared for the next one.

"Don't get in my way..." This guy... Ryugi didn't like him. He obviously didn't know what he was dealing with. The power of those stars could probably amplify the power of an adept to godlike levels. Just one could do that. Have more than one, and there wouldn't be an army in the world that was capable of stopping you. At least he was smart enough to realize they shouldn't be trifled with. Tch..! Ryugi placed Ragnarok back on his back and scoffed. The kid was just deluded. He wasn't a threat. He'd backed down fast enough, so he was smart enough to know what was good for him. So, maybe he could talk some sense into the guy. If you know what's good for you, don't mess with those Stars.
They're too powerful for any one person to have. That said, Ryugi turned around and moved back to his original spot in the library. That book still had more information in it, and he'd be damned if he wasn't going to learn everything about it he could.

((This is story development. Gan and Ryugi are parts of the story and they're relationship is 'developing' therefore, story development. Either way, don't be so impatient.))
Just then, a loud whistle pierced the tranquility of the library! Someone in the distance screamed in alarm, and voices rose from murmurs to yells as the signal continued.
Less than a minute after it's beginning, a librarian hastily shuffled through the reading area, pausing when she noticed the two confused foreigners to explain breathily, "That's the alarm! Leumeria is under attack!" Was all she said before rushing away again. While it wasn't so much that the library was in actual danger, the alarm set off so much hysteria because it had not been heard in over a hundred years. No one had been brave enough, or perhaps foolish enough to attack one of Weyward's premier superpowers, until today...

"Cap'n, we begun the attack. All men are in their positi'ns, Leumeria's in chaos." As the pirate's report finished and he trailed off, his captain remained still, unmoving in his seat, feet propped up upon a mahogany desk. His eyes were not clearly visible behind his mask from the current angle. "Um.. Cap'n?"
Suddenly the mysterious captain vaulted out of his seat, hand springing off his desk and landing gracefully behind the thoroughly surprised adjutant. "Excellent. Continue with the plan." despite his manner, his voice was rather, low, dry and monotone and made him sound quite uninterested even though that was not at all the case. Looking slowly over his should at his captain, the pirate caught the rare sight of icy blue eyes behind the mask, albeit briefly before the enigmatic captain briskly waltzed back to this desk, re-propped up his feet on his resplendent desk and resumed his nap.
The pirate waited for a moment while his body limbered before he turned to leave, shooting a confused glance back at the resting figure.
Sen was known among the pirate world for his cunning, avarice, and eccentric nature. When the Leumerian native called together a small armada of pirates from throughout the Great Easter Sea, claiming to have a plan to invade Leumeria, most pirates responded with "About time," and gathered their forces to answer the call, being sure to loot and pillage all along the way; women and gold for pleasure, and men and any adepts (man or woman, boy or girl) put to work among the ranks. Now that the plan was finally starting, many of the pirates and pirate inductees lined the steam galleons eager to either loot the greatest island nation in all of weyward, or to lose their pirate captors in the confusion.

"Don't get in my way..." As the alarm sounded and panicked citizens all ran for cover or charged through the streets stricken with fear, one man walked towards the commotion. The library would be fine and his studies would be there later, but for now, it was time to do what he did best. Kicking some serious a**... His hand gripped the handle of his mighty sword, Ragnarok, as he strolled down the steps, feeling the weapon's power flow through his body and alter the strength of his fire abilities. Whoever was attacking the city was about to get a taste of what a real warrior was all about. Truth? Justice? No. The only thing that gave Ryugi power was his determination and resolve. And until that flame was extinguished, he'd continue fighting for all he was worth until he either accomplished his goals, or died trying. Ryugi didn't call out to the invading forces, and he didn't broadcast his presence. But what he did do was strike first. No one would expect a fire elemental of Ryugi's strength to be running around in a chiefly water-based location. His right hand held Ragnarok across his shoulders while his left aimed at the nearest group of invading pirates. Fire pulsed from his feet and rose up along his body, his eyes glowing with a red and orange light as his powers jumped to action. The power then shot down his arm and gathered into his palm, before a burst of pure fire energy rocketed towards the pirates. It was simple, but it would get their attention alright... The ball would detonate within the ranks of the no doubt startled pirates and strike them with the power of flame. And while that happened, Ryugi jumped into the air, pulling Ragnarok into a striking position as he planned to press the attack. These pirates were going down...

"Please... Don't hate me..."Saiya was still mulling over the events of just a few short hours ago. Her darker side was starting to make itself more known in battles if she did poorly or was too frightened. She'd have to get stronger and learn to fight with more effect if she was to force the other part of her being into submission and control it. As she crested a hill overlooking the main city of Lemuria, she was shocked to find ships in the harbor, and the city in some sort of turmoil with an alarming whistle shrieking. Oh no... I've... I've got to help them! Saiya quickened her pace to the city. If she was gonna be of any use, she'd have to get there as quickly as possible. The thought of her darker side showing itself in the confines of the city frightened her, but she'd never learn to control it if she did not face it... She just hoped and prayed that she wouldn't have to face it again any time soon...

Think, Gan, think!He always had the option of climbing on top of them, but now was not the time to test the durability of the bookshelves. Now was the time to kill the invaders. I've always loved playing with dominoes!An etheric hand would reach out from Gan and push the bookshelf, knocking it over, causing a chain reaction crushing anything unlucky enough to be in the way. ((Hopefully being the pirates and not Ryugi. He already hates me enough XD))
