Wait... Did you just make a 'your mom' joke at me?

The movie was just so god damn ridiculous. I really liked the first three because they are so bad and because they're frankly really entertaining. But holy s**t, Paul W. S. really doesn't give a s**t anymore huh? Aside from the story that made no sense, the movie was tight and the 3D was badass.

as a standalone movie meant to be within the RE universe, but not related to the games, the first movie was fine. i thought i was pretty damn good actually. but all this other bullshit? yeah i dont think he even cares anymore.

oh oh yeah btw. you know the device that wesker sticks on jill in the game on her chest? well in this movie ALL the people he captured have it. and it somehow "magically" and temporarily erases your memory until you slowly gain it back, but that's only if you don't have it on. and apparently? they're REALLY easy to take off the chest. im not even kidding. in the game you had to shoot that thing to death and rip it off jill's chest. in the movie? its like a snap on button.......snap on "click" snap off "grab"....its so ridiculous.

its like anderson shat a turd, "borrowed" RE elements that make absolutely no sense...like sticking a random block of cheese in the mix and not explain why and he decided to call it RE.

"like sticking a random block of cheese in the mix and not explain why and he decided to call it RE"

To be fair that statement describes RE4 and RE5. Seems to me like Afterlife lives up to the current state of the games perfectly.

Except when the movie's plot completely falls apart, I'm not pissed off.

As opposed to RE4, where the storyline falls apart before the Prologue is done.

For real. You should catch it. The movie gets so hilariously ridiculous but you're still having fun.

Not when I LIKED the previous three movies. I don't want that ruined for me like the games were.

But... Number 3 made zero sense also haha. I mean what the hell were they creating super zombies for? Still messing with the T-Virus and for what? I dunno but it was fun to watch. It's just dumb fun in my opinion.

It wasn't they, it was Isaacs alone. He discovered the super zombie by accident, and went a little crazy with it, hence, mad scientist.
Either way, it made much more sense than RE4. RE4 sucks. Period.

Well, I don't know why, but I decided to actually watch this movie. I guess I just reached a point where I don't care about the franchise enough, and knew that I could see the movie and not take it seriously enough to ruin anything for me. So I did, and here's the worst part about it:

For the most part, I actually thought it wasn't too bad. The prison setting was cool and considering how much of the movie happens there, and what goes on, it was actually not that awful. It was slower paced and felt much more like a survival post-apocalypse story. But just for that part of it.

And at the beginning, I actually liked the action. Alice's powers were much too ridiculous, but the actual action sequences were very cool to watch. And the whole sequence made a good way to mass-exterminate all those Alice clones.

Unfortunately, everything else was bad. REALLY bad. Not even in a "so bad it's good" way, it was just awful. Where do I start?

Well, let's start with the biggest and most persistent problem. The "zombies". I hated the idea of them turning the zombies into uroboros, or whatever the hell they were called in REtarded 5, but I figured, whatever, if they want to add that s**t, or the plaga or whatever to the movies, I don't care anymore. But it wasn't even that. All the zombies just suddenly get these weird tentacle things coming out of their mouths, and it isn't explained at all. Which implies that we're supposed to just automatically assume that all zombies suddenly have tentacle things coming out their mouths? At least the previous 3 movies could be considered partially to be zombie movies. Not this one. It does not make sense!

Same with the Dogs. Suddenly their faces split in half? That's not just a mockery of the Resident Evil legacy, it's a crappy ripoff of The Thing. Baaad! It does not make sense!

Second problem, the executioner guy. Considering that it was obviously deployed by Umbrella to stir s**t up, it makes absolutely no sense for it to look the way it did, and carry the weapon it did. It does not make sense!

The final battle was particularly awful. Having Wesker be as overpowered as he was in that crappy game was pretty awful. The 3D effects (without the 3D) were tacky as hell. Also, going back to the tentacle thing. Okay, even if T-Virus mutated its hosts into tentacle mouths over years of exposure... But then Wesker gets the mouth tentacles, only weeks after mutating himself. So now it's a standard? What, did the zombies in the previous movies simply forget about it? It does not make sense!

And speaking of Wesker. That was by far the worst part of this movie. His performance was absolutely awful. His little facial expressions were corny as ********. And his actual performance.... Good lord, it was the most awful, mockery of an imitation of Agent Smith from The Matrix I have ever seen. It was like taking Hugo Weaving and sucking out every tiny bit of acting craft and charm out of him.

So yeah, this movie actually had some decent parts. The prison stuff wasn't too bad at all. Everything else was just awful. Made Extinction seem like Dawn of the Dead.

Haha, you expected Afterlife to make sense? But yeah dude, it sucked something fierce. Just stick with the original trilogy, and do NOT, under any circumstances, watch Retribution. Just...no.
