Kestrel found himself getting separated from George, the human's blood dripping from the spikes on his shoulder. "You? Hah! You're not the moron who provoked poor Raine into releasing me! I know a human's stupidity, but his surpasses anything I've ever witnessed before." He growled, letting his claw pass over his snout briefly, annoyed at the kick to it. He swung his claw into the ground, a burst of black energy ripping through the ground at Cirus. However it split in two and passed by both sides of Cirus harmlessly before joining back into one. It then flashed, and darted in the blink of an eye back at Cirus from behind, aimed at the middle of his back. "Now get out of my way! The fool needs to learn the errors of his ways!" He itched to spill more of George's blood after all.

Tis was their finest hour, as the world plunged into it's darkest....
George moaned loudly. "What crystal? The one in her bag?" He mumbled. "Don't worry about me dying...." He then fell down on the ground, way past his limit. He was basically dying there. Of course, it didn't stop him from crawling towards the bag. He needed to get there before he died. He had to tell her something. Something important. He shakily reached his hand out to grab the crystal. He only needed to....... his hand fell just short. He couldn't reach. He couldn't move. It was over. He could feel it. Even if they managed to do this, stop Kestrel, George was going to die. His wounds were just too much for anyone to carry. Even an seemingly immortal being. He would have laughed, if he could have found the strength to. He had brought it onto himself. He tried one last time to summon the strength, but could not. It seemed, his tale was over. So close to oblivion. George found the energy for one last smirk before closing his eyes, awaiting death.

He heard Kestrel speak. He could hear the word 'fool' being tossed around. "I...." He coughed, blood coming out. "I am a fool. I am an idiot. A dumbshit, dumbass, a*****e. Whatever you want to call me. But I am also human. So, I guess you win. Come, take your prize. Me..." George's hand suddenly clenched, and subtly around Raine's bag. He knew that Kestrel was enraged. He could do this. He could pull it off.

And they are the heroes I look up to at this time, wondering when will my chance come? To do the amazing things they did.

Kestrel growled, disappearing from Cirus's view and reappearing near George. He grabbed George by the back of his neck. He leaned his head close, huffing at his hair. "So what, you're asking for death to come sooner? I should just put you out of your misery?" He growled. His other claw collected dark energy in the form of an orb he intended on shoving right into George's face. It'd tear his head into pieces, which just delighted Kestrel to imagine.

"Mmm... yes, well, it seems as though I stand between you and him, don't I?" Cirus frowns, ready to defend against the frontal attack but somewhat surprised as the wave splits around him. Wait... he remembers this one. Heh... "How unoriginal of you, Kestrel. You'll have to try something new to even have a chance of defeating me." He takes his Mirror and holds it toward the dark energy as it comes back, not taking his eyes off of Kestrel. Damn, was he going to have to get that crystal himself? George wasn't looking so good...

Cirus waves his hand in front of him and summons several laser lights, firing them off toward Kestrel. He spreads out their trajectories and randomizes them a bit, making it less likely for him to dodge them. While that goes, he summons another laser, more concentrated, looking for Kestrel to be stunned before he fires it off at him. He'd then dive for the bag, hoping to get it and the crystal within. What could be so important about it.

Tis was their finest hour, as the world plunged into it's darkest....
"It doesn't matter to me. All I know is this. I am going to die eventually. The only difference is when, where, and why. Oh. And you should really pay attention. It might save your life one day...." George showed Kestrel the bag he had picked up as Kestrel himself had lifted George, before he tossed the whole bag towards Cirus, using the last of his strength. The throw made it land right in front of Cirus's feet. "Now. Raine, if you are here, I....." George couldn't speak any more. He instead just fell limp in Kestrel's arm. "Take me out of my misery. It is the least punishment for any crimes I have done unto you." He said, looking far off, not at Kestrel or Cirus, but at some unknown object.
And they are the heroes I look up to at this time, wondering when will my chance come? To do the amazing things they did.

Kestrel growled at George, barely paying heed to the lasers that pierced his skin at the moment from Cirus. "Out of your misery? I'd be glad to." He snarled. He lifted George off teh ground high and reared the claw back that had the orb collecting within it. He then solidified it and gripped it, thrusting his arm in intent on driving teh deadly energy into George's body.

"No ya don't." Cirus catches the bag and fishes the crystal out of it quickly. Now... what do I do with this...? He stares at it for a moment before comparing it to his mirror. So just... hit him with it? He dashes forward again, shundoing at the last moment to throw Kestrel off. He appears on the other side of him and pushes the mirror up against his face. "You'll do no such thing on my watch. Now, back, foul demon. Chaos will never defeat Control."

Tis was their finest hour, as the world plunged into it's darkest....
George felt some relief. He wasn't going to die. Not right now. He doubted he would live to thirty, but at least for now he was going to live. George merely felt the coldness go away. He was sore. He was bleeding. He was going to need to spend a day in the hospital. Again. George felt his eyes close, falling in and out of consciousness. "Raine. I hope you can hear me. I'm....." He passed out just before he could finish his statement. Once more was his blood spilled, and once more was his statement unfinished.
And they are the heroes I look up to at this time, wondering when will my chance come? To do the amazing things they did.

The crystal leaked with energy that was similar to what was down where William used to be, but a more compact version. At Cirus's touch, it released an energy that would hurt him, though could be ignored by someone of Cirus's tolerance. Kestrel glanced at Cirus halfway through his strike, and blinked, making the mistake of hesitating when Cirus disappeared. He barely noticed where he was next before he felt the crystal's unwelcome dark energy collide with his own.

Kestrel's orb dissipated and he dropped George when he was mid-sentence as he tore himself away from Cirus, roaring in pain. He raised his claw to where Cirus had touched him with the crystal, and you could see a dark purple aura blending into Kestrel's black aura. "Damn that demon boy! I forgot he gave that to Raine..." He muttered, shines of pain escaping his throat as he felt the foreign energy invading his own rather forcefully. He could feel Raine awakening and trying to regain control.

((Was that the mirror or the crystal? -posting assuming you meant the crystal- ))

"It seems that pissant has his uses, then." Cirus grins, seeing Kestrel's dismay at the crystal. "Have some more, ol' friend." He smirks and dashes toward him again, thrusting the crystal against his side. He holds it against Kestrel's side, gripping the Chaos Demon with his other hand. "I bet it burns you as much as my Mirror used to burn me. Doesn't it? You thought I was a fool, Kestrel, but look where I am now, I almost have it. I can feel it, Kestrel. I'll have it this year. And then you'll -NEVER- be able to get your revenge on me."

Kestrel roared, screeching with pain. He glanced at Cirus, his eyes boring into Cirus as he felt his power over Raine weakening. What? He eyes widened a bit as his form began to fade. What!? He snarled. He wanted to tear at the arrogant fox's head suddenly, but he didn't get the chance. Kestrel dropped to his knees, and fell to the ground as his body faded into black mist, revealing Raine in his place, still conscious but in slight pain. There were a few burn lines from the lasers. Her ears twitched, as the red marks on her skin began to dim back to their black color, and the extra, new limb, her black tail, twitched. She groaned a little, shutting her eyes.

Cirus tosses the crystal down in front of her, rubbing his hand. The interaction field between his Mirror and that Crystal was quite interesting. "Something tells me it might be better to wear that crystal around your neck, than the mirror I gave you... as much as I hate to admit it. The mirror does the job, but it also hurts -you-, doesn't it?" He then looks over at George, sighing. "Imbecile, what was he thinking...? You wanna help me get him to the infirmary?"

Raine grimaced as she pushed herself up, reaching over to the crystal. She grabbed it, but its magic didn't react to her touch like it did anyone else's. It remained calmed, because it had been tuned to her and its creator only. She put the crystal back in her bag, which laid nearby with a few of its contents spilled out. She pushed the books and the gun and dagger back in. She sighed quietly, regaining her senses completely before trusting herself to speak. "...yes. I'm...too much demon to wear your mirror." She said, before making herself stand up. Her tail twitched again. She frowned. Damn. It was really starting to it her that she had let herself change again. Funny how no one ever listened to her when she told them to go run. She looked at George and frowned. Now because of this moron...her death was another massive step closer.

She almost wanted to say no and just leave. But she merely nodded and shoulder her bag before walking over to where George was, waiting for Cirus.

That statement makes him wonder when she'd realize that he's -pure- demon and he wears a much stronger Mirror without a care in the world. It hardly affects him, if at all. He walks over to George's body and picks him up easily, looking to Raine. "C'mon, then. Let's get this guy to the infirmary." The truth of the matter being that he wants to see her in his office... "And, ah... you'll probably want an illusion spell or something for that tail, huh?" He looks at her, chuckling softly. So, now he knows something to suppress Kestrel with, other than his mirror, which might be harmful to Raine. He'd use it if he had to, as Kestrel would probably take most of the effect if he's out and about, but he'd avoid it.

Raine nodded. "I'm not that good with illusion spells." She admitted in a quiet voice, picking up her hat from the ground and placing it back on her head. She helped pick George up, nodding to Cirus to let him know to move and she'd follow for now. Her body and mind were working at a too sluggish pace to fight anymore.
