mine was that way too. random electrical crap, speedo, radio ect. would quit working. I replaced my battery cables still had the problems.
After almost 6 months of dealing, I traced it to the switch after it got to the point the car wouldn't start. replaced the switch problem solved.
just something to keep in mind...

I've been a member of the Vigor club since day one. Matter of fact, they dragged their feet getting around to accepting my request so I went out and bought the official service manual through Helm, Inc.

And I see, so I'm not the only one with the issues. Chances are you're right and it's the ignition switch, but I think I'll go ahead with the process of elimination in this case. At least this way I'll have new battery cables, because the ones I have now have visibly had it.

Scratch what I said about eBay by the way, there seems to be a plethora of door parts for the Vigor to be found there. I even saw a set of four exterior door handles for $65 with free shipping. Those would be useful for when after all the body work's been done and I go to give the car new paint job.

So, since I'm going to be keeping the car, and since I'm also going to be getting a good deal of money for school, I'll be able to take out a good deal extra in student loans to do car-related things. One of the things I'd like to do (or, more importantly, NEED to do), is exhaust work. While doing this, I was considering getting a replacement muffler, since mine is not only massive, but is also falling apart.

I've got a good deal of space to put a new one as you might be able to tell, and I'd like to put one in that shows off the unique 5-cylinder exhaust note, but doesn't amplify it to the point of stupidity.

Advice?

I had a Tanabe Medalion on mine for a little while. It sounded well enough,
But I didn't like the tunercannon look of it.

So yeah, updates.

Muffler fell of due to really really bad bumps and frost heaves a week ago. Was going with a friend of mine and his brother to fire my M44 at a friend's house and it finally broke off literally in the driveway. Just waiting to find a day to get to the garage and get it fixed, since I can't do much about it right now and it sounds louder than a fart can.

Other than that, I have a replacement back bumper for it that I'm going to put on after I take it to the body shop to get some of the body work around the wheel arches done, which'll probably happen around spring break coming up in two weeks.

I figured since I'm going to replace the muffler, I may as well have the rest of the exhaust replaced as well, since there was more than just one leak.

Oh, I have more, trust me.

Anyways, been using my mother's car for the time being. Awesome revelation yesterday: a 3.1l V6 can do 27 MPG if one is careful enough. Half a tank on the better part of 160 miles.
