Thee Stranger Nice. I love that scene. I love both of those movies. And Dead Alive. Dead Alive, anyone? Dead Alive. I kick as* for the lord! Easily one of my favorite zombie movies. Peter Jackson needs to go back to making horror/comedy movies NOW!

Land of the Dead was the last one I watched...
the worst horror movie I watched was Freddie Krueger Vs. The Ghostbusters...made my brain hurt...

I liked Land of the Dead. Not so much as a Horror movie. Moreso as a Zombie movie with a great cast, pretty cool storyline, and a Post-Apocalyptic setting. Post Apocalyptic setting is one of a few themes that I absolutely love in media. So it does a lot for me.
Still, it did come out at a horrible time. It came out at the PEAK of zombie popularity of the previous decade. And yeah, it's understandable to say, "George Romero makes a zombie movie at the peak of zombie popularity. It makes perfect sense," but between movies like the Dawn of the Dead remake, Shaun of the Dead, and Resident Evil, you basically have the best of Horror, Comedy, and Action, with zombie related elements right there. And Land of the Dead just seemed a little... Trivial.

The last horror movie I watched was Drag me to Hell. My friend forced me to watch it. . . Well, part of it. We stopped pretty early on to watch Batman. I am NOT a huge fan of horror. Why? I scream waaay to easily and am a total p***y. I couldn't watch Monster House(The Disney frickin' animation) alone the first time. Yeah.
The only other horror movie I've ever watched was the Grudge II, and I almost had an asthma attack because I was so scared after the part where she screams really loudly 'cuz of the child's face. Yeah. Not one of my proudest moments.

I haven't really watched too many jhorror, the grudge, the ring thats about it. I'm mostly a blood and guts kind of guy. I enjoy the imagination put into some of the more grisly deaths.
(scene: cargo hold of an exploratory vessel...) Man is looking out across the many boxes on a stairway and is taken by suprise. He is thrown over the side by Jason, the man lands backward onto a large drillbit. his body slowly rotating down.
Easily, one of my favorite deaths right there. Right behind Johnny Depp being pulled into his bed by Freddy and gouts of blood pour onto the ceiling...Pricless.

You all know how I felt about Drag Me to Hell... and from what I've seen, I'm not a huge fan on J-Horror. Hated The Ring, hated The Grudge. Apparently the two genuine Japanese films they're based off of are good. But I have my doubts.
Final Destination is basically The Omen without Damien... I like The Omen better.
I never saw Land of the Dead. I need to. I mean, it's gotta be better than Resident Evil at least.
They're really hasn't been a great horror movie in a long time.

I don't really consider Saw and Final Destination to be horror films.
I'd put those two closer to a Thriller category than Horror. I dunno why. I mean, maybe the first Saw can be considered horror, it did have a distinct air of creepiness to it, simply because of its mystery. But once we start finding out more and more about it, it's still kinda cool, to see all the different contraptions, and where the backstory is going, but I wouldn't call it horror anymore.
Final Destination I never considered Horror. I love it, but I wouldn't watch it on Halloween season amidst all my horror movies.

I mean, for what it is, I guess it's decent, but to me, Land of the Dead is the RE4 of the Living Dead series (In terms of how Bio would relate to it, seeing as how I like RE4). And the fact that the same guy who directed Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead did Land of the Dead makes me hate it that much more.
I just watched Resident Evil again the other night, and I just gotta know: Why do you hate it so, Thee Stranger? Lemmee see your points, so maybe you can alter my view on it.

But now it just seems like you're eager to start liking things less. "Hey, I like this thing, please convince me that it sucks," is essentially what you're saying. It's intense, and so is Saw. Saw isn't just about the gore. It's also about rooting for the characters, and being on the edge of your seat to see if the character will be able to beat, or even survive their trials. With Final Destination, it's almost the same thing. Except instead of trying to outsmart obstacles set up by a human being, they're trying to cheat death. And again, it is intense, and you are on the edge of your seat rooting for the characters. But it's not scary... And I don't know... Like I said, it's hard to say. But it's not even about the scares within the movie. I mean, there have been some horror movies that failed at actually being scary. But then I lay down to go to sleep, and I still got a little paranoid at weird little sounds in the night. And I've never had that with Final Destination or Saw.
