"No, I haven't made any new friends since I moved here," Will said, missing Mira's meaning completely, "First day of school and all that."

"Well then, consider me your first friend!" Mira shouted excitedly. He grabbed Will's hand and rushed forward.

Will smiled and followed behind Mira. It was good to have a friend here, where he didn't know anyone.

Mira was elated. He wouldn't ever tell Will, but he was the first human to be nice to him.
"Will, there's something I should tell you before we get to know each other, but you can't freak on anything."Mira said. He looked with pleading eyes at his new friend.

Will stopped and looked at Mira with mistrust. "You're not a rapist or a ***** are you?" he asked, edging away slightly.

"No, but I'm not exactly human...not like you atleast. Basically I'm a test tube baby. I was created in the lab. The scientists who made me also gave me special abilities. They were going to use me for spying in underwater places, but something went wrong. I started to think and that was not what they wanted. They threw me away. Please tell me you're not gonna do that? Don't hurt me like everyone else!" Mira confessed. He clutched the ends of his shirt and bit his lip as tears leaked from his eyes.

Will hugged him gently. "Of course I wouldn't want to hurt you or throw you away," he said softly. He didn't want Mira to be upset and unhappy.

Will pet Mira's head gently. He was glad that Mira wasn't sad anymore. He knew what it was like to be afraid of something.

Mira reluctantly pulled away. "C'mon. We've gotta find a body of water. I wanna show you something." Mira said as he recaptured Will's hand.

Mira shook his head.
"I want you to see. Besides it's beautiful down there." Mira said as he pulled the boy toward a lake behind the school.

Will obediently followed Mira down to the lake. He had never been there before, so he hadn't even know there was a lake behind the school. He smiled and hoped that he could swim with Mira for a while.
