"Go ahead. I dare you," she sneered. She wasn't afraid of him. Well, maybe a bit. She was gambling on the assumption that he was making empty threats. Not her smartest option. Batgirl backflipped off his shoulders, and during the rotation, kicked him in the back with both feet.

The force of the kick sent him forward. Gaining his footing back, Red forgot about her and began to heads towards the briefcases vault room. It was now right in front of him as he sprinted towards it.

"Perfect," Steph muttered, gritting her teeth. She flung a batarang at X. One that would not only take him down, but also intertwine him in a thin steel cable. "You leave me no choice!" She shouted as she got her aim set up, and released.

Tangled in the wire, Red X fought trying to free himself. It was hard for the cable was made of metal. On the floor he tried to get free.

Batgirl stalked over to him and lifted his body up by the wire, being careful not to let it slack too much. She brought her face inches from his and snarled in her most menacing voice, "What's in the case?"

A smile came upon his face under his mask. Red X threw his head back and then slammed it into Steph's face.

"Oww..." Steph moaned, holding her hand to her nose, and stumbling backwards. That was a stupid oversight on her part. "You..." she began, resetting her nose and wincing when it popped back in place. "You a**...." Shaking the pain away, she knew the only thing keeping her in this fight was the fact that X was still tied up in a quite literal sense. And, despite what all her instinct was telling her to do, she wasn't going to dispose of him using the multiple methods she could in this situation.

"What's the matter Steph? Can't handle a little rough housing?" A small red x dart was taken from his pouch with the help of one of his hands. Carefully he tried to cut the wire and get free however the progress was more than slow.

"I can handle pain perfectly fine...it's nothing but a state of mind, correct?" She smiled, gladly giving him what she was known for: a stinging uppercut. "You shouldn't forget how I took apart that mugger in the alleyway...I'm only being nice tonight!"

Red X was close to breaking the wire. When her upper cut landed on him did he fall back a few more yards. "Oh should I Stephanie? You really would try and hinder me wouldn't you? I need that briefcase. It's...important..."

Something clicked in Stephanie's mind. "It...doesn't happen to have...what's that stuff...Xenothium in it, does it?" She smiled wryly, walking up to the pedestal the briefcase was resting upon, and examining it for any alarms. Finding none, she made a mental note to personally update the bank's security systems, and lifted it. "Hm...heavy. Shall I open it? Unless of course it really is what I guessed...in that case it might just kill me. You would like that, wouldn't you?" She latched and unlatched one of the several claps repeatedly, more of a nervous habit than a taunt.

"Do it....and I will tell everyone just exactly who you are and where you live." Getting to his feet Red X tossed the wire away and looked straight ahead at Bat girl. Two Xs were in his right hand as he aimed carefully at her. "Drop the brief cases now. You get one chance."

Ouch. She knew that would come back to bite her someday. Steph frantically searched her memory bank for any way that her identity could be connected to Red Robin, Batman, or any other person she cared about. She found none, but wasn't taking chances. So this is what her act of kindness had come to. Granted, it was inadvertently her fault...actually, scratch that. Directly her fault. Anyone who died because of this...it was on her. "Can't threaten me if I'm dead, can you? Tell me what's in them...then maybe I'll decide if I feel like being nice again." She still said it was his power source. To get around his threat, she crouched down, and rested the bottom of the case on the floor, still clutching it. "It's on the ground, X...what are you gonna do?"

DROP1 it. And back away slowly. I am not in the mood for your games." He remained there in his stance holding the Xs in his hand. His voice was more than serious, it was threatening and harsh. Bluffing was something he didn't do and if needed to he wouldn't hesitate to pin her like a pig with the Xs. He wasn't a hero after all so why would he feel bad afterward.

Steph narrowed her eyes at him. "And I'm not in the mood for yours..." She grabbed the case and charged at X, swinging the case into his head and sending a roundhouse kick to his side. Aiming an adhesive bomb at the wall, she intentionally tripped an alarm, grappling out of the hole she created.
