I don't care if Muslims want to build a mosque, fine go for it, but not that close to Ground Zero! No! That is like a slap in the face to America. Plus the leader, the Imahm (sp?) is very controversial and won't denounce Hamas (sp?) as a terrorist group, he said that America needs to become more Sharia (sp?) law compliant (do you know what Sharia (sp?) Law entails?), he also claims America is an accessory to 9-11, and that Osama Bin Laden is a creation of America! Sorry but some one who has those kind of opinions do not deserve to have their mosque that close to where Muslim terrorists attacked on American soil. No!

So, in conclusion, I am against the Mosque being built that close to Ground Zero, but if they want to build it any where else, go for it!

the Imam is correct when he said that Binladen was a creation of the U.S. cause if you look at the Soviet Afghan war the C.I.A. trained the Mujahadeen fighters and as far as the location is concerned, I feel that it's up to the New york community and no one else to decide if it goes in. here another opinion of mine why don't we ban the building of any religious center close to a site of mass destruction.

And what business is it of ours if the president is Christian or Muslim? I view the whole Christianity being persecuted thing as a phase, the Jews have been persecuted for ever, the Buddhist were persecuted in the Sengoku era by Oda Nobunaga and then again by Mao's regime in China. If what I said seems rude I apologize.

We trained them to help defend themselves. Not to attack America. Further, sure, if the ground is that sacred ,don't put on any religious attire. Unfortunately, that wouldn't happen because there are Churches that have been there for, well, over a hundred years.

As for your second post, maybe it's a phase. At one point, all religious groups have been persecuted, if we truly look at history laid out. However, the Jews, above all else, known as "God's people," have been persecuted the most. And I would honestly say, Christians after that. Christians, not in Europe or the Americas, but in Soviet Union, many middle eastern and African countries, China, SE Asia, and so forth.

Like I said, I don't care what religion the president is. I was just pointing out the specualtion that has been going around the state controlled media ever since Obama has been elected president.

Nor do I care if Muslims want to build their Mosque, it's the location that they want to build it on that is bothering me. It's like a huge slap in the face to America.

I also don't agree that Obama won't let the Greek Orthodox Church rebuild their church building that was destroyed and damaged on 9/11 but yet he keeps pushing to let the Muslims have their mosque near that location. Double standard much? There are hundreds of Mosques around New York.

You know what's funny is the fact that New York's Mayor won't let a Wal-Mart any where near that place (NYC), but yet he allows Mosques every where....What's up with that?

Even Harry Reid, a liberal and a democrat, said that the mosque should be built some where else. First time I have ever agreed with the man on some thing!

And like Mazuac said, the US only trained Bin Laden to help defend himself, not so he could turn around and attack America.

Haha, I know! I heard about the Greek Orthodox Church! O: I also heard rumors that only Muslims would be allowed into the "Community Center." Of course, this is only speculation. But if it is true, is it really a "COMMUNITY center?"

And Bloomberg is a liberal billionaire. I have no idea why he'd even want to be the mayor with so much money! XD

I know this is off topic, but isn't it humorous how so many actors and actresses, who make millions upon millions of dollars, urge more taxing and lean very much to the left? Hahaha, just thought it was humorous.

Yeah I had heard that about the mosque. That's also what has me a bit concerned.

I know about Bloomberg being a liberal.

And my theory about the actors and richer people pushing more taxes...The Clintons want it that way too. But of course most of their money can't be touched because they have it all stashed away in charities, which of course when you donate money to those it's tax exempt.

Oi ve! The parties seem to be so out of touch with the people these days, and more so the Dems than the Reps... :/ Still, though! It's sad!

Well, I'm not American so I probably don't have the right to comment, but if Islam wants to build a monument to the Most High to remember those who died because a couple of maniacs perverted the message of the Almighty, then shouldn't they be allowed to? I don't imagine people would be so up in arms if someone wished to build a Christian chapel or a Buddhist shrine or something.

Mosques are only built in areas such as Ground Zero because they are celebrating a victory. They killed 3000 Americans there and now they want to celebrate with their mosque.

And I've already stated my position about how I feel about people being able to build their religious buildings, etc. But regardless of the religion, they need to have some respect to the feelings of every one around them. And the Imam who wants to mosque at Ground Zero doesn't care about how the Americans feel.

I swear before to long we will "P.C" ourselves out of a country.

Getting down too it...... If its their constitutional right then fine let them have it , i don't like it but hey,we should play by the rules even if no one else is . i mean as long as we play by the rules everything will be just fine...... "sarcasm"

The mosque is not for remembering those who died. I am not sure why they are even building a mosque there, in the middle of downtown traffic where a minor Muslim population lives.

And funny you should say that, because actually, a Greek orthodox Church was damaged during the fall of the towers and they have not been permitted by the state to rebuild. However, if a mosque/community center wants to be built, the governor supports it full on!

Have you asked them this?

They do technically have a Constitutional right to build a mosque there. However, I feel that it's being disrespectful to American's by doing so. Plus, if the church hasn't been allowed to rebuild, then no religious buildings should be permitted. There needs to be equality. You can't allow one to build, and another to not.
Plus, I believe it was said that the building costs would be covered by taxpayers money. (I could be wrong, but that's what I heard) That is really wrong. Partly because the government has for so long pushed the "separation of church and state" that, by their definition, taxpayer money shouldn't go towards any religious schools, organizations, or buildings. Also, with how much American's associate Islam with the Middle East, terrorist organizations, and 9/11 (which I'm not saying is necessarily true, just that American's make that associations), it's even more of an insult.
