Yang looked to her blushing a simply nodded, "W-w-w-we should f-find a higher ranking monk"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 24, 2011 2:15 pm

((Sorry! I'm so sorry, I had to move back into the dorms and I finally got internet, Sorry!))

"There are no monks here," Mimi spoke to the two. How could they have missed her? Ah well. "I am the master of this temple, if you have any questions I would be more than willing to help."

Why would they be here, in her temple? Their temple was a taboo place, they ate meat and hunted and fought. The Avatar had rejected his own son years ago for being a different sort of Airbender and loving a man, ever since the Eastern temple had followed the ways of Li Fong. If they wanted a monk of the old ways they should have gone West.

Yang sighed then looked over to see himself being touched by Katrina. After jumping away and composing himself once more by clearing his throat.

Yang turned and looked out onto the skyline, hopefully this gaining him a bit more confidence in speech. "W-we are on a mission to find a relic of the previous Airbending Avatar. Would you know anything of such an object?" he asked, turning his head slightly to catch a glimpse of the head of the temple.

Mimi pursed her lips and rose from the fountain on which she rest, a breeze billowing her silken robes out.

"Avatar Aang held no love for our temple," she told them, almost angered by the suggestion. "If there is such an object on the premise, it was no doubt stolen by Master Yaang and hidden long before I was born." Pulling out her own staff she flicked the switch and released a whistle shaped like a winged cat. A high pitched whistle, unheard by humans, summoned a great creature. A giant winged cat, camel colored with a black sheen as it moved. A cougar crane.

"I would escort you around our temple, should you wish to search for your relic."

Yang looked to her, she was right. According to history Avatar Aang had rejected his own son. However, a conversation Yang had before with his father came to mind. Love reaches deeper than all, and even if someone may do something terrible deep down a good spirit feels love, and regardless of what Aang may have felt for his son, it was still his son. Maybe it was the fault of Yang's fear of abandonment, or maybe his sense of naivety, but Yang thought, if anywhere, the relic left by the Avatar would be here.

"Please...show me."

Mimi nodded and made a welcoming gesture. "My name is Minayami Miyage, you may call me Mimi."

"Come," she began to walk. "The eldest portion of the temple is this way." She began to lead them through the halls of the temple. those closest to the outside were brightly paints with scenes of ancient stories, the next few halls were painted bright white and dull, and finally, they reached the part of the temple that was yet untouched. Dusty and dilapidated, there were piles of broken furniture.

"We haven't had the funds or the need to repair the rest of the temple," Mimi explained as she stopped in the doorway to an antechamber.

"That's perfect," said Yang as he walked to the room. he touched to dusty wall and brought his hand to his face feeling the dust in his hand. He blew the dust from his hands which drifted slowly through the air then upon coming to a tile took a sharp draft upwards wafting into the light leaking in from the outside.

"Did the Avatar and his child play here...before their falling out?" asked yang as he looked to her.

"I would not know," Mimi shrugged casually as she leaned against her cat. Sansa's purring echoed loud through the stone hall and was a comfort to the young mistress. "But...to my knowledge, the temple was in it's first stages of reconstruction before the fallout, I suppose they may have spent some time within it walls beforehand."

With every flick of Sansa's tail and every shudder of her wings, small poofs of dust kicked into the air, caught in a beam of light from a hole in the roof. They would have to seek funding soon, and Mimi was not fond of begging from the main temple.

Yang inhaled then took a step forward jumping slightly yet strongly from his back leg then landing solidly, his front leg extended his body bent. Flames extended like a wall of rock across the floor, until it reached the tile. At that particular tile the flames parted a blast of air sent sharply upwards. The flames pushed away.

Yang walked to it, he could feel the constant stream of air and as he approached it, the air grew stronger his blade also vibrating, he assumed the necklace would also be reacting on the Princess's neck at about this point.

Yang bent down and grasped the corners of the tile. He pulled on it feeling his muscles straining as he lifted the concrete and as it slid open he couldn't finish lifting it. Even with the draft of wind in his favor he was useless to it. Could it be the blade. He looked to the woman. "E-excuse me...how was y-your relationship w-w-with your p-p-parents?"

"Problematic at best," Mimi responded, crossing her arms while Sansa's purrs fell silent. It was malignant the rest of the time and she wonders how these people would react to know she killed her father...

"Might I ask why you're tearing my temple apart?" Mimi went over to where he stood and peered back and forth between the immovable tile and the shaking blade. "You can't seriously believe he left his glider here." But the spiritual energy was pressing against her and she faintly hoped that it wasn't the staff.

"Some people are bad to the core," said Yang the image of the waterbender, Blood whom he had killed came to mind. "Some people just can't accept the facts," as he looked towards the block he chuckled a little, "I remember the story of Aang the previous Avatar casting away his son for his sexuality...I think he regretted it, deeply, but as a figure such as he to go back on that word in the midst of rebuilding a nation would seem weak, however there is no way such a man could refuse to love his own son," Yang knew a bit of his own past was mixed in with these feelings but as he turned to look at the Airbender the stone burst from its place and flew clear across the room.

Yang jumped to his feet reaching back and grabbing the hilt of the blade to calm the vibrations.

Yang stared over into the darkness that was left with the hole in the floor and just as his red eyes peered over wind burst forth and filled the room swirling around the group, though the wind was not that of normal air, in it whispers could be heard. A child's laughter, Avatar Aang's voice, the voice spoke calmly and coolly, "Son, no matter what happens, know that I always love you..." rang the final words as the winds escaped through the holes in the tattered ceiling.

Mimi feels a pang at the sincerity left behind by the avatar, knowing that her father would never leave such a message. His love was twisted and wrong. Sansa gives the airbender a push towards the hole with her head, padding along beside her to inspect the place.

"Words cannot lift a betrayal so simply," She peered into the hidden cubby, Sansa's massive head beside her own. "And offering love is not offering acceptance." What was she even supposed to be looking for? There was a lot of stuff down in there, including something wrapped in a piece of cloth. Reaching down, she pulled the object out, Sansa pulling on Mimi in an effort to 'help'. It is a long object and internally she congratulates the duo for finding their artifact.

"The monks at the other temple will be wanting this," she twirls the new found staff in her hands. It is well balanced, and the weight is slightly odd without a steel blade hidden inside.

((Was it supposed to be some grand thing? Because I didn't read the other sections of this quest, I can change it if I need to.))

((Bah doesn't matter much we don't have enough people to finish the story past this, and it failed to make the guild active again. We gave it our best shot guys))

Yang stood as he looked around, could this be all to this task? The acceptance of the staff seemed to come with her own acceptance. Though she could not officially accept the staff because of the drawbacks in her own past. Well it mattered not, he now was one step closer to his ultimate goal despite what the spirits may have in store for the tools.

"Well that was all we needed," he looked to the woman, and Airbender to be able to wield the staff. So...can you...use it?" Yang asked as he gazed over the object virtually glowing with the blessing placed from the staff.

(I'll leave the power up to you since this story basically won't continue for much longer with the guild so dead,)

((What drawbacks of my past? Yang doesn't know about her past. Also, take on another character maybe? I'd take on a firebender if it came down to it. Or even a mercinary))

Mimi flicked the tiny switch, aged blue silk unfurling as the sail spread out and caught in the barest of breezes. there was even an odd little compartment. Her partner's head poked through the crook of her arm before sniffing in disdain.

"Relax Sansa, I'm not replacing you." Mimi held the glider away and scratched the leopard's ears with a smile. "Jealous beast." The woman turned to Yang and his partner. "It is a treasure to be sure. Why don't you stay the night? Lessons are ending soon and the evening meal will be served. Besides, we have a delivery in the morning and we'd be happy to take you down with us."
