you'd be astonished all the different theories and interpretations of that being, throughout so many religions and mythologies, and even within the same ones. i had dozens of research notes, but they have mysteriously vanished.. so i must recollect them. but i have spent a good 4 month long period of time dedicated to the study of the figure that is Satan.

Well, I tried to study my religion from it's Sumerian roots, and I am pretty convinced that our version is so watered down that we just have a very few vague elements of what the original story was...
I am supposed to be organizing a blog that has my note categorized and footnoted, but I already have so much going on, plus so many distractions besides sweatdrop .
Besides, I am somewhat nervous for my RL people's to see how "heretical" I really am. I also know that when I post several people will be defensive to the point of feeling that I am accusing them of being ignorant, and in reality, I can't say that I wouldn't be in every case. SO of course I am stalling a bit, 'cause there will be no real way of keeping it from some people, and sharing with others.

I am not astonished at all the theories. Religion is my number one hobby, and I am really considering turning it into a University career. My thing is to trace myths back to their roots. I have notebooks full of "family trees" so to say, and I have more books and texts on myths, religious stories, the occult, and angelology than Barne's and Noble. Between my computer and actual books, I don't think that is an exaggeration.

i am very glad for the Academic interest. smile it is not as welcomed a hobby as i would like. sweatdrop
though i wouldn't suggest any Degrees in that direction, they don't serve much practical purpose, and you are perfectly capable of studying it sepperately from School.

I am too old to go to school for something practical. LOL If I go back to school it will be to do something I want to do, not something I have to do.
That is part of the reason I didn't go to college as soon as I got out of school. I knew I probably wouldn't apply myself how I should on subjects I didn't have interest in, but I wasn't going to have my parents pay for schooling that wouldn't get me anywhere either. I can go nowhere for free. LOL
Common sense and Personal Preference are on pretty equal ground with me right now, and I have wonderfully good arguments for either side. I'll let you know which side of my brain wins this battle when it happens. rolleyes
