Same. Absolutely the same. Plus, here is the only place I ever have contact with IFfy. Now, I sent her my snail mail and I know she's seen the message but I haven't heard back from her on it so...yeah.

Hehe, thanks Felly. I fancied a change from being a chocolate bunny.
Mainly that's the reason I stay..cus I'd miss all the people I talk to and especially the guild.

Sometimes I just get so fed up w/H and his questionable behavior that I'm an eyelash from snapping. Sometimes I snap just a little bit...with varying results.
This was one of those weekends.
And it's stupid really. The breaking point was this:
Well ok, first I should lay out the behavior...I don't know whether it's something in him or the cocktail of meds he's on or what but he wants to buy every damn DVD ever made. And. NOT. WATCH. THEM.
I mean it's bad enough I've had to make and attempt to enforce (often unsuccessfully and it makes me nuclear) the rule that if we own it we CANNOT watch it on T.V. (like when it airs on a cable channel or whatever. Not one minute. Not one second. NO!)
And all the time I catch him watching stuff that's just sitting on the shelf next to him. And he LIES to me about it. "Oh I was just here until I find something else."
He has this really messed-up need to do the opposite of whatever I say. We go 'round and 'round about it... 'cause really, 95% of my requests or decrees are not unreasonable. It's stuff like: (just an example here) Don't peel a potato cutting toward yourself. Don't spray the cats with canned air. Don't run up and down the stairs blindfolded. Don't eat all but 1 cup of whatever I make for dinner. (It's scary how many times that last one is broken. And it's no damn wonder why I'm hungry all the time.)
Simple, reasonable, often safety-related things. And movie stuff. See, we're supposed to have this rule where we only purchase DVDs we both agree on and we have to have seen the movie elsewhere first. I'm the only one that checks with the other around here and he'll just buy stuff willy-nilly...he can't pick a movie to save his life. Heaven forbid I say I don't want to see a particular movie...'cause that's the first one he'll go out and buy. He did it with Eragon, Hoodwinked, all 3 Lord of the Rings movies, The Avengers. Hell with Eragon he I kid you not went out the day after I told him, I don't want to see this movie and I'm not going to sign off on buying it.
I think he heard: "Give me an aneurysm, honey."
I compromise. I buy him movies/shows/anime I don't want to see, don't like, or whatever that I know he likes.
Everything I bought him in the last 8 years is still in the original plastic except Wall-E and The Golden Compass (oh and Beginners Tai Chi which he took out of the plastic while I was pitching a fit about this whole thing.) But he's never watched Compass. We got it out to check something on the features.
(Crap I've gone on awhile with this, sorry folks.)
Anyway, the deal is I spent all of Saturday organizing the DVDs including the several-dozen unwatched. (Only 8 of those are either mine or he was waiting on me.) I dropped everything to do it and part of the shelf collapsed on me while I was organizing.
We have room to display maybe 10 more DVDs and 1 box set. And I was in the middle of collecting a cartoon and had my eye on about 20 films I wanted in my permanent collection. I don't have any room in the studio. We had 3 copies of Ferngully. (Not that it's a bad thing except in this context.) He's trying to talk me into shelves but it's not an option. 'Cause why? 'Cause he bought a crapload of art at Ren-Fest over the course of several years that he insists we're going to frame and hang.
stressed
And when before he said, yes we can get rid of all our VHS a little at a time he's digging his freaking feet in now saying no, we'll store all of them and not get rid of them at all. We don't have room. This house is spilling over with JUNK. I just filled 3 large boxes with paperwork, magazines and mail he'd piled up in front of the fireplace in the last 2 1/2 years. And he's fighting me on it. Yet he's upset because I've thrown out a dumpster's worth of stuff I collected while I was growing up. And still counting. Because I have no choice.
And he's still fighting me on the DVD issue even now when he can physically SEE how little room we have left for the collection. crying
I'm fed up and frustrated. It's like trying to train a brick wall. Anything past Sit, Stay is completely lost.
*takes a breath* cry

I'm sorry hun. Maybe you should check the side effects on the medication he is taking. Do you think he would know if you slowly started throwing out some of that junk?

Oh Felly, I'm so sorry *gives much needed hug*
I agree with Mich...attempt to subtly get rid of it. If there's so much, some of it won't be missed.

I throw stuff out whenever I can. Sadly I just don't get enough time to do it. (Actually that may be a good thing since he does eventually, sometimes, occasionally notice things and frankly I don't need the additional grief.)
Spent awhile in the garage yesterday. Mostly just moving things around. sweatdrop
Insofar as the meds go...that's a cross-referencing nightmare. The collection takes up almost as much room as my comics collection. eek And we're dealing with the VA. It takes forever just to deal with a single issue. I hear he's working on the mix that directly affects his focus right now. I told him he needs to deal with the directly-OCD ones (though yesterday while he threw out stuff I wanted to keep he did clean the kitchen counters) and of course that has the usual effect. He's such a freakin' mule, I swear.
It sucks. He can't remember conversations we have 5 minutes after we have them but as soon as I decide such-and-such needs to go, that's what he wants to look for.
Nevermind how sensitive he gets. We retouched the space/DVD issue again. He came home and was all like "Crap, I should've taken the box next door today." (The latest box of movies I want to get rid of and he was digging his heels. stressed ) And then he gets all Pete Project. "I WILL BUILD DER SHELVES!"
I had to walk him through the maze of projects left unfinished over the course of the last 3 years/3 wks/3 days. And nevermind the fact that we'd have to buy all the pieces and that's not in the budget in the next couple of months.
And his feelings got all hurt. And it became a thing.
Oi, I'm so fed up. And if I keep bitching like this, you ladies will be too. =(
*clings to teh girls* Thanks for listening/supporting/being fab.
