I think that you shouldn't hope for a close adaptation of the novel, since we saw that in Howl's Moving Castle, Miyazaki seemed only inspired by the book. But I think (and hope) that this movie will be great anyway.

Loose-adaptation, huh? Well, I can deal with that. It's always good to let me know that kind of thing ahead of time. I'm really more forgiving then. But I do wonder if the characters going to be black like they're supposed to be. Assuming that the main characters from the books are being used. I haven't really looked for any pictures.

If anyone has had trouble with the trailer, just follow nausicaa.net's links, particularly this one here. It's the second trailer, but I still think it's just as beautiful...I love how the opening song is so natural and simple, yet moving and wonderful at the same time.

I saw some of the mini-series on Sci-Fi, and it looks interesting. So, I'm curious to how the Ghibli film is gonna play out.

My mother predicted that his next movie would be an Earthsea book. Allthough she said it would've been tombs of Atuan. lkjglakm. Either way, I'm soooo excited, and in the process of re-reading/completeing the series.

I'm a little confused...
How many actual Earthsea novels by Ursula Le Guin are there? I finally got my hands on what I thought was the last one (Tehanu) but then it contradicts itself and says that "The Farthest Shore" is also the last book...
Other than that, based on what I've read from the first two novels, I think this is gonna be a great movie 3nodding I can't wait to see what Tenar looks like.

There are I think five, to date. Plus a collection of short stories I believe. Wizard of Earthsea Tombs of Atuan The Farthest Shore Tehanu and The Other Wind (I think -looks around-)
And from previews, I think they made Tenar blond >.< it's not right! But Tenar is one of my favorites heart
