"For the most part, the stolen paintings are from the same time period,"

"The works from the other art galleries are the same size as the stolen works. The guy might have worked as part of the maintenance crew to have the time to measure all of these paintings," one of the guards suggested.

The replaced paintings were mostly of portraits and landscapes around Gaia depending on the size of the frame. It seemed like the portraits were selected only for size but the landscapes had one thing in common: They were all painted with Gambino's mansion or his tower in view.

"Yes sir." The guards saluted and went onto the work that was assigned to them. They started to shuffle around the museum for any painting of the Gambino tower. If anything, the Gambino Mansion might be a red herring of any sort. Either way, they had to give a heads up to the Gambinan guards.

The list of the stolen paintings were given to Ash as it was handed to the guards by the curator who had just finished the inventory check. "It doesn't seem like these paintings had much to do with each other. The paintings here are all modern works while the missing ones are at least a few centuries old. I wouldn't be surprised if any of them wound up in some crime lord's mansion. . . Isn't that how it usually goes in the movies?" The curator asked.

The curator gave a stressed sigh. It was bad enough to have the paintings stolen by someone who worked for the museum. To be listed as a possible suspect was a different ball game. Why would he steal form his own work? The curator twisted his mouth and continued to inspect the rest of the museum, in case the thieves took something else too.

Meanwhile in Barton, the news was just being delivered by Cindy Donovan about the museum break in. Seeing as the theft was committed at night, it was only reasonable that the story would be made the next day.

Some people were gathered around the tv stores, cafes and bars, discussing recent events or other chatter of the day.
