To Ezio yeah, I dont think Altair was the same way, he was dramatically demoted and he had to earn back his rank, but then everything goes haywire in the animus and they had to shut it down but the main guy was stuck in it until he killed his master. Its really confusing to explain but yeah Ezio had his older brother, dad, and younger brother hanged.
