To the people who are threatening to quit over this... seriously? It's a little ridiculous.
Don't get me wrong. I understand that the warning of being banned can put people on the defensive, and I understand that you're trying to prove a point, that you want to participate in this guild in your own way.
However, if you think about it, O-TO-KO-YO is just trying to make a group event, and help everyone learn something in the process. It's a really simple task. It's not like we're being asked to write a research paper. It's just a way to learn from each other, but in a more structured sense than before. And as long as you mention an herb that even remotely interests you, after that you can participate as much or as little as you want to. Learning from one another is a way to bring us closer.
Personally I'm very solitary, and that's how I choose to practice my beliefs in real life. I don't want to find or join a coven with anyone locally, especially because I don't trust most of the people I've met who called themselves 'Pagans' or 'Wiccans'; they just make false claims to make themselves sound edgy and special. But meeting people in this guild, who really know what this kind of spirituality is about- it makes me feel like I have a coven, even if I've never met anyone here face to face. It's a sense of community, and I appreciate that.
So I'm sure I can't change people's minds if they've already made a decision, but since it's not a difficult task, and you'd be helping people out in the long-run, maybe you should reconsider before you quit for good. I think that learning and being closer as a guild is important.

That maybe I am doing all of this work for a purpose. If even one person gets something out of all of this... then I am happy to stretch myself to keep it up and going. I have 2 children, a fiance, I go to college, I have a part-time job, I am very active in my children's school and daycare. I work hard to find time for my own practices, keeping physically healthy, keep my garden healthy, working on all the finances of the house, and doing the majority of the cleaning. As you can see I have a lot going on in my life and it is a bit of a stretch to go through keeping the guild all updated. We have 4 pages of members and I'm sure that you all can agree that there is far from that actually posting. I can understand some lurkers, but I think that they should at least post in the chatterbox from time to time, just so we know they are still coming in. It would be nice if gaia would have a system where the crew members could have the option to see the people visiting the guild. Much like they have on the profiles. It would give me an idea of who was coming in and if the guild was really still being used. I was thinking for a while to post up a "I was here" thread, but I think that's a bit much. It was only going to be run for a while and just ask that every time some one pops in the guild they post something in that thread. Again thank you. Maya

Wow, knowing how busy you are in your daily life makes me appreciate your work running this guild even more. o_o
I think this guild is great, and would hate to see it go. Being new to all this, it's good to have a place to go to consult people when I have questions, it's fun talking to people here, and even when I'm not posting, I like reading about how other people fit their beliefs into their lifestyles. So I definitely think the guild is worth contributing to.

Actually it's weird, because I was considering doing lavender before I chose cinnamon, so I guess we have similar tastes.
I'll switch mine to coconut, then.
