my school's senior talent show last february was in need of more acts and since i'm friends with most of the people who put it together....i got convinced to throw something together, short notice.
over the moon. because, darnit, i'm a senior theatre nerd and that's pretty much exactly how i wanted my last performance on "my" stage to be.
and yes, they mooed.
it was filmd from offstage...i'll put the link up here if anyone would really care to see it.
and the MC and i threw together a lame, though wonderfully so, "more cowbell!" joke after my act. heh.
i also busted out with take me or leave me in a hotel lobby with one of my friends...we got some scattered applause, but more weird looks.

For our senior night chorus medley we always do broadway/movie music, so last year we did seasons of love--one of my friends sang the solo part but she was sick so it didn't sound as good for the show as it did in practice. We've been trying to talk our teacher into letting us do rent (the song, not the show) for the medley this year, and I think she's convinced!

We've been trying to talk our teacher into letting us do rent (the song, not the show) for the medley this year, and I think she's convinced! lucky you! the choir i'm with is really church-y (which is weird because i'm very very agnostic...but it's free so whatever). we're doing a west side story medley (which is way too high for this alto!) but it looks like that's it for b'way songs.

Chorus this year...Spring Concert...Seasons of Love,YEAH!At first,I guess I didnt really like it,but I hadnt seen the movie either,or the broadway at that.I love the song now that I saw the movie*nod*

For english class, we had to bring in our favorite song so we could look for poetry in it. Everyone thought the assingments was a bit poetic pathetic, except for me. I thought it could be fun to bring in, say, a RENT song. I broght in Over The Moon, put the ipod in the speakers i brought (kuz i dont have the CD, i got it off iTunes), and sat in my seat.
Totally subcounciously (sp?) i started doing the motions that I had blocked out as possible for the talent show (i didnt end up doing it - i cant sing). Caleb, who sits diagonly-behind me saw me doing to entire thing, as did my friend Alyssa, but she expected it. When the song was over, Caleb leamed over and asked "heard the song a few times, eh, ducky?"
and someone Moo'ed at me outside class. yay.
so it wasnt technically performing it onstage, but from my seat.

A year ago my school's choir did 'Seasons of Love' (not that I'm in the choir...) but that's the closest school has come to doing something. Also, my other Renthead friend and I blast the soundtrack when we're home alone and kind of perform the songs...mostly Another Day and Tango Maureen. I always play Mark and Roger...hehe. Anyway, we never do it for anyone else, though, we randomly break into La Vie Boheme at school and start jumping around. Our non-Renthead friends used to give us weird looks but their too used to us now.

My friends and I want to do La Vie Boheme at a local playhouse, we actually want to do a whole broadway review type of deal, which we would rock! hahahaha, but anywho, thats what we want to do!

Scari-Mari Once I went with a few of my Rent-loving friends down to Seattle, we found a cafe` and we performed La Vie Boheme for the people. I got to be Mimi because she's my favourite. <333 That would be so cool! I could never do that though...well, maybe with my friends, if they would. they haven't even seen Rent though. Mimi's my favorite too.

My church choir sung Seasons of Love and it just ended up being really cool because it wa me and like... five of my other friends all standing in a row. And between us like, one guy is my best friend, who likes this other girl who's my friend, who's best friend and I are the coallitionof pretty friends, and the nmy other friend was up there and I definetly liked him at the time and like... it was just great because we're all friends and had this weird thing and we were all standing in a line like in the show and like... it was great. I felt like I was in RENT.
