It's not something we need to do for every aquarium we open, so I guess it's ok. A pity though, but if Gaia can keep people from botting with this method, it's better than doing nothing at all.

Well, it at least shows some concern for the botting issue, even if captchas are a somewhat crude way to deal with it. Still, anyone noticed significant changes in the glow time and player number? Personally, I don't grab enough to see the difference anyway.

Panagrammic Booty Grab TweakAs an experiment, we have temporarily reduced the number of players in a tank from to 35 to 9, and increased the payout to 1:1. Note that this results in the same or more being paid to the tank owner, but opens up the competition for tanks a bit. This change will propagate across tanks in the next hour as caches clear. We will run this experiment for a day or so to see the effects. Panagrammic Booty Grab Tweak OverWe've reverted back to 34 players / 4:1 ratio. The changes will propagate to tanks throughout the next hour. We are going to continue to be doing a number of experiments with Booty Grab over the next few weeks, so you may want to keep an eye on the dev notices.

They have said now that they wanna lower the 4:1 ratio....
There's also going to apparently be gold items in the fish shop....Soooooo
they say that the BG is being over used, and that it's inflating the market, which I agree it can....but only because it's the only source to get gold due to the inflation of the market yet they are trying to get people to maintain tanks because they will lose a bunch of users over the changes and are opening it up to gold only users....
Positive: It will suck out gold from users who decide that now they can go wild with fish for gold. It will drop the market price for fish.
I'm sure there's a negative out of it in how gaia is so flippant and hypocritical.

Gaia has stated: They wanna lower the 4 to 1 ratio on the gold which means that there could be less gold granted as it slides from 4 to 1 to something like 2 to 1 but should be giving a more equal payout to tank owners and players. But what? I just grabbed the first glowing tank at the top of the aquarium forum. I got 1950/488. It's a real low score for a 17 dolphin tank. And that's the usual 1:4 ratio. Does it seem like the power downs come at exactly when the gold drops, especially the red gold?

I wouldn't know, I get some lag from booty grab so I don't play as much. but I'm sure there's something going on behind the scenes. I'm glad that they are concerned about the economy but still there's better ways to go about it then doing things and not really explaining them.
