Kimiko stared suspiciously at the bird Mew as she offered for the older girl to join her. What if this was a trap? What if it had finally been revealed that the twenty year-old was staying long past the time her visa was good for? Like she'd go down without a fight...
Or at least that's what Shuuji told herself in her thoughts. Granted, the brunette couldn't even jog very far without having to revert to walking, but it helped to at least imagine she could take on whoever was in charge of these things, right?
Remaining standing, Kimiko glanced around the cafe uncomfortably. Large crowds freaked her out, and even a tiny cafe filled with a handful of schoolgirls unnerved the girl slightly.
"Just who runs this...place?" **

At the voice, Purin dropped her hands guiltily. "I was just looking for the perfect one, that's all," she piped, her voice only slightly subdued. "After all, the customers deserve the best, right?"
She didn't mention the fact that HER customer was someone who liked her and her tricks. Nor did she say that there were other customers out there- Minto had taken care of the boring one, and if there were more, Ichigo could handle them. So she wasn't doing anything wrong, not a thing!

(( whoops, got sidetracked. ^_^; ))
Ume was wishing the girl would come back from getting the tart... not because she was getting impatient, and not even because she was hungry. She wanted Purin to come back so she wouldn't disgrace herself again. She knew perfectly well that nothing on the table was hers, any more than that stapler had been, or that CD in the study lounge. And she'd tried to leave them alone, but they were just sitting there, in the open, and looked so tempting!
She snatched up a paper napkin and began to shred it carefully, making sure her rows were even. She wouldn't put the salt cellar in her bag, she wouldn't.
And then it glinted at her again.
"Nuh-uh," she told it, glancing at it from the corner of her eye.
It shone so nicely in the light from the window...
"No. Nonono. I'm not listening," she said, and began to tear the strips of napkin into smaller pieces, not even wondering if anyone had heard her. **

"Purrin, there's no difference between the tart in your hand or any of the other ten you've just mauled. Okay ? Plus, no one cares which tart they get. Just get out there and give the tart to the customer. If you're not careful the eprson will just storm right out of here without buying anything fi you take too long. It really wouldn't surpirse me. "
She inspected her nails closely, waiting for the full effect of what she had just said to hit the younger Mew.

((ZOMG so so so so sorry. DDDD: *easily distracted like whoa*))
Zakuro had a point. Purin wanted to do a good job, and she absolutely did not want her happy customer to get mad about waiting and leave with nothing! And if she did, then the others would get mad too.
Then, she saw it. The perfect tart! It had the same number of blueberries as strawberries, and slices of peach and plum and even kiwi arranged artfully around the outside. Carefully placing it on a tray, Purin shouted a quick apology and raced back into the cafe.
"One super-duper-special tart, for the super-duper-special customer lady!"
As she placed the tart on the table, she noticed the shredded napkin. "Is it confetti time already?"

Absolutely releived by the reapearance of the cheerful waitress, Ume smiled what was probably rather too large of a smile.
"Oh, it looks delicious!" she exclaimed.
At the question, she looked down at the nearly forgotten napkin. "Uh..." she fumbled for a second, then continued, "Yeah! See?" she picked up a bit of it, and tossed it in the air, where it fluttered back down to the table. Ume blushed a bit, and shoved to all to one side, clearing a space for the tart.
"I guess I just got a little anxious," she said, a bit apologetically, with another smile.
She picked up the fork, which glimmered so shinily in the light, and broke off a small piece of tart to try. It was delicious! And as an added benefit, it dulled the shine on the fork, which made it call with much less fervor.
"Oh, wow. I think that's probably the best I've ever tasted. Could I get a glass of milk to go with it, too, please?" she asked after she'd swallowed.

She wasn't mad! Pleased as punch, both that her customer was still there and that she was happy, Purin hopped up and down. It looked especially charming in the brief snow of the confetti, and the fact that it would make a mess wasn't too important. Ichigo would probably clean it up later. The customer was always right anyway. "I'm so glad you like it. I tried to get the best one!"
And the customer seemed to agree. But she wanted something else, and Purin could certainly get it. "Hai! One glass of milk, coming up!"

"Thank you!" she said to the retreating waitress.
Ume took her time over the tart, savoring each bite. The crust was nice and crumbly and sweet, the filling was fruity and tart, and the whipped cream was... well, creamy.
She had her eyes half-closed as she ate, and the various objects within reach were even silent, for now.
A glass of milk would be good...
She decided to wait a moment, and finish the rest of the tart when she had gotten the milk. A place like this deserved a place in her journal!
She rummaged around in her bag again, coming up with a beaten up leather journal with a small lock holding it shut against curious eyes. She started writing a small message, smiling as she wrote, but made sure to close it up as Purin came back.

Purin danced back into the dining room, carrying a pitcher of milk and a cup on a tray, that was carefully balanced on her head. Giving a little twirl as she approached her customer's table, she paused jerkily, nearly dislodging the milk. The customer-person was writing in a book with a lock on it. Was it her journal? Purin tried to peer over Ume's shoulder, but the book was already closed.
Pouting slightly, Purin put the tray on the table and began to pour the milk. "What were you writing?" she asked curiously, trying to appear as innocent as possible.

Ume smiled. "Oh, nothing too important. I was just writing about my day, and finding this place. Such good tarts deserve to be remembered!"
When the cup was full and handed to her, Ume nodded her head in thanks. "Thank you very much. Can I ask you something?" she asked. She was curious about the decor, and other things about the shop.

Oh, so it was a journal. Purin had one of those, though she couldn't be bothered to write in it too often. There were to many things to do for her to sit around and write about stuff that already happened! Tricks to learn, performances to do, Kirema Anima to battle...
And apparently questions to answer. Nodding her head so fast one might think it would give the girl a headache, Purin replied cheerily. "Hai! Ask me anything you like, miss customer-lady, and I'll try to answer!"

Ume smiled, and rested her head on her the heels of her hands, peering up at Purin. "This shop has such an interesting decor, I was wondering who designed it? I don't think many would have chosen such a pink scheme, right?" she said with a laugh.

Evidently, the conversation between the bunneh and the birdeh either never took place or had finished, for the brunette had wandered off, probably to poke her nose into places she shouldn't be, and Minto herself sat, drinking tea, while looking over a magazine article on Zakuro.
"Oneesama~" she sighed, admiring the pages of photos posted of the dark haired model.
