((...you just HAD to kill it, didn't you...))
A noise disrupted Xeiashi's work. He turned to see the criticizer from before. "Oh...its you...come to insult my latest work?" he said cynically, pausing his work for the time being. He was working on a safe, radiation-created lighting system out of idle curiosity...though the glowing, radioactive material was probably shortening his life by days even as you read this. That was the problem, turning all of the radioactive emissions to safer, visible light.

"I can if you want, but I see no reason to." Aa commented, apparently completely serious.

"How considerate of you...perhaps I should mention that these things are still radioactive? Your life is being shortened even as I speak..." Xeiashi said, not even turning as he went back to his work.
He soon turned for a piece of nearby scrap. His elbow moved back...too far. One of the rods was precariously perched on the edge of the table, was being the important word. He dove to catch the falling piece, but the edge of his chair dug into his armpit, and he simply couldn't reach it. All his thoughts were centered on one word, Damn...

Aa has no clue what's going on on account of coming from somewhere that has yet to discover radioactivity.

((bleh...doesn't 'shortening life as I speak' mean anything to Aa-the-character?))
Oh well, who needs an arm that functions anyway? Xeiashi all but fell out of his chair, cushioning the rod's fall with his arm. "Do you realize just how close we came to being killed?" he practically shouted as he righted the wrongs of his workspace.

"No, but I am slightly annoyed that you're acting like it's my fault." Aa replied, sounding, appropriately enough, slightly annoyed.

"Well, it's standard practice pretty much everywhere that falling stuff is to be caught...and didn't 'radioactive' or 'shortening life' or 'KEEP OUT' mean anything to you? I'm not even sure I know what I'm doing, and it's dangerous enough for me!" Xeiashi ranted.
After a few minutes of silence, he began again. "Sorry, just...venting. These things are probably the single most dangerous thing in this place, and they nearly killed both of us and likely your friends back in that room..."

"You'd be surprised." Aa responded laconically, visibly keeping her emotions under control. [Yeah, she's a little weird.]

Siani hadn't really noticed when Xei and Aa had left, but eventually she looked up. "Where'd they go?" she wondered out loud, and wandered off in the general direction that she vaguely remembered they'd headed in.

Xeiashi returned to his work after the girl left. Over the next day or so, he would perfect his design and use the newly dubbed 'glow-nukes' to light his room.

Aa walks back out, unfreezes the sticky trap on the way out, and goes out in search of excitement.
