Titania felt her lips quirk in a smile as she picked up on some of Jon’s emotions. “Relax, young man. Whatever my husband may feel for you, I like to reserve judgments until I understand you for myself.” Settling herself in the seat he thankfully offered her, she met the gaze of the young human girl and chuckled. “Leafy is an interesting way of describing a blue dress, but thank you for the compliment,” she commented lightly, but otherwise closed her eyes and reached for why she was here. Yes, two. Healthy, female. And neither in any hurry to be born. Good. She had a couple of weeks to chat demon infants with Mori so she could be forewarned of any oddities. Opening her eyes, she met Mori’s eyes next, knowing she would have sensed what Titania did. She was careful to send out strong waves of empathy to calm her and reassure her that Titania meant no harm.
Mori giggled at Jon’s dilemma, feeling a little sympathy for him. He was getting a lot thrown at him all at once… Lord knows, she’d been there when all that happened with Noah. Wincing at both the memory and both twins deciding they wanted to kick again, she laid her hand over her distended womb soothingly, only to freeze. Her pupils dialated and she twisted her head to glower at Titania warningly. Her markings, despite the tea that kept her calm, flared with garnet red veins though they didn’t turn completely red…yet. “I will ask that you keep your powers away from my children,” she told her sister-in-law, her voice just short of an angry, feline hiss. The calm she saw in Titania’s eyes helped her settle down a little, and her own powers assuring her neither twin was harmed made the markings return to their normal state of black.
Only when she was sure Titania was content to sit quietly while they dealt with Alex did Mori reluctantly take her eyes off of the full demon. The lady hadn't reacted to what was basically a threat, so Mori trusted her to behave herself long enough for the Graves to deal with Alex. Her pupils returned to normal as she spoke to the newcomer, “Now… You said you found us using dreams of some sort?” she probed, her voice much more gentle now. “And our daughters were in them as well?”

Alex nodded, "Yep I saw them, they were rather cute actually." She had a feeling that her sister-in-law wanted to know more. "Lets see if I remember correctly the weren't identical, far from it in fact. They were both girls and one had dark hair while the other was blonde and one had a tan complexion while the other was fair skin. The were cute though I do recall that." She was hoping that this information was pleasing to the woman. She then honed in on Jon, "Which is why you need to be careful mister." She shook her hand at him with the pointer finger extended. She then turned her attention back to Mori, "Oh and those stuffed animals you've been making, in every image of them I've seen they've had them closely guarded. I guess that means that they like them. There was also a really strange image of one biting a troll?" She had no idea what that last on was about but hoped that they could figure it out themselves.
Jon restrained himself from reacting to the change in Mori's mood. He had been carrying his hunting knife in his boot since he hadn't been working. After all the years of leaning on it for protection and such, he just didn't feel whole without it. He had managed to keep his hand on the cup of tea not wanting to make any offensive moves towards yet another Xerian. He listened to Alex's words laughing in his mind at what his wife was doing. He was a little surprised by her fussing at him. Of course he knew that he needed to be careful, that was a no brainer. He had every intention of being careful in his work, he always had. Well most of the time at least. True as it was that he had gained a few scars it didn't seem that he was ever all that reckless an individual. Maybe she was just saying that to make sure. Though he did find the information about the children rather interesting. So they wouldn't actually look like demons after all. That might have made their life a little easier them Mori's had been. Though part of him wondered how she felt about that herself.

(Just note Titania is going to be quiet unless provoked until we get Alex settled. She’s here to talk baby with Mori later in private, basically. biggrin )
Mori sipped her tea, swallowing Alex’s news with steady eyes but not quite so steady emotions. On one hand, she was ecstastic. Her children would be healthy and hopefully fairly happy. Her skin was also thankfully staying with her and not passing on to them. While it should upset her because it would only show how different she was from the rest of the family, the fact remained that it would protect her daughters from the troubles the silvery gray skin had caused her. Markings would be pushed aside as tattoos like their father’s rather than something that formed because of any powers they would receive from her.
On the other hand…
“Do you have to teach them to be mean to Yata?” she sighed in Jon’s direction. “He is so excited, yet you are determined to make them an unpleasant experience for him.” Her eyes sparkled good naturedly. She understood why the troll and her husband didn’t get along that well, but Mori couldn’t resist nettling Jon over his habit of bothering him at every given opportunity.
Shaking her head, she directed her thoughts and asked Alex patiently, ”Why did you come seeking Jon out now?”

Jon laughed slightly with a shrug, "Who says that I'll have to teach them?" It wasn't that Jon disliked the troll it was more that the troll seemed to enjoy pestering Jon, so he took it as his right to pester back. Actually whether Jon would admit it or not he owed all that he currently had to the troll for sending the two of them off when all of that Noah business started. That was one irritating man. Either way he was thoroughly enjoying the little insight the woman had given. Then Mori asked her last little question, "Yeah I have to say that I'm wondering as well."
Alex cocked her head to the side very catlike and very much like Jon as well. "I don't see what's so strange. I mean if you found out through dreams that you have a big brother and were about to have twin nieces wouldn't you want to meat your brother and sister-in-law." She had rationed it out very well but that was not the full truth. It was a truth that wasn't a lie but she had reasons she didn't want to have Mori know. Premonitions were not always pretty things. Especially when the were uncontrolled and took place in her dreams.

Mori rolled her eyes and sniffed. Honestly, she didn’t understand the captain’s or Yata’s protectiveness of her. With her powers it wasn’t as if she needed protection most of the time. Only her pregnancy was causing problems with them now. Alex’s comment and reaction made her lips twitch as she resisted the urge to laugh. “That would require us to have dreams of the sort, and I have no such claims as to seeing the future,” she answered, her tone holding some of the laughter she had been fighting. “I only see my past in my dreams, and trust me,” Her smile took on a bitter edge as she redirected her thoughts, “I would not be sad to see them end.” Calming her thoughts as she felt her powers sluggish reaction to her pessimism (she was getting lazy with controlling the reactions, she would have to be careful post pregnancy), she watched Alex like a cat does a new toy it wasn’t quite sure what to do with yet.
The half-demon was unsure what to do with her new-found sister-in-laws… Both of them. She suspected Titania was here to help with her children’s birth, but most likely wouldn’t be staying her or anything of the like. Alex’s reasoning, though… Opening her link to Jon a little wider, she asked him mentally, Does that seem like a solid reason to you? Traveling so much, to see someone she has never met…? She’d hear his response when he had one. She was more comfortable letting him lead this mess right now.

Well she certainly seems of odd enough character to. Jon looked the girl over. A few features, such as their cheek bones and chin, between the two were similar which made sense if the story she told was actually true. Still though the fact that this girl was here now and was able to know so much about them did make the archer feel a little unease. "So then what do you plan to do now that you made it here?" It seemed a logical enough question. The girl had obviously accomplished her goal, unless there was more to her motive than she let on. He was still rather uncomfortable with this own concept. Besides his own existence he had never seen any other proof of his father's existence. Then again it seemed that his father got around quite a bit. How many b*****d brothers and sisters did he have. Though it sounded as if the man had calmed down after Alex, there was still no telling. This was just a lot to wrap his head around.
Alex shrugged slightly, "I really don't know. I figure that I will stick around here for a while. The woods make me feel at home so I will probably just pitch a tent somewhere private where I don't have to worry about other people. I might put out a hammock or something." Yeah she was definitely related to Jon. "The way I see it I need to get to know this new found part of my family. Especially with the oncoming expansion." Of course there were other reasons that she chose not to mention. One of her hands found a loose thread on her clothing and started to absentmindedly play with with it between her thumb and fore finger. This whole thing was making her uneasy, despite how she behaved on the outside. She had intended on finding Jon and speaking with him but his wife and mother in law were wild cards she hadn't depended on. No she had to be patient and wait till she could get him alone. For now she would act as if that was all.

Mori trusted Jon’s judgment of his apparent half-sister. She relaxed a little and chose to listen for just a moment, feeling tired for no apparent reason. She was used to sudden waves of sleepiness, as her petite body tried to handle her pregnancy. That didn’t mean she could help rolling her eyes and laughing when she heard what Alex planned to do for living arrangements. “Well, I will say she’s related to you,” she teased her husband, “There are nights I think you would still prefer to be outside in a hammock yourself.” She tried not to, but finally she yawned, covering her mouth so her fangs weren’t so visible.
Titania had been happy enough to quietly sit to the side. A half-sister showing up had not been in her plans. However, Mori’s yawn seemed like a neat little opening. “Come along, dear,” she said encouragingly, walking to her sister-in-law’s side. “We can go upstairs, let you rest, and Jon and Alex can sort things out.” Privately, she shared her thoughts with Mori about the more experienced woman taking a look and making sure Mori was safe for childbirth.
Hesitating for a moment, Mori stood with a little help fromTitania. It was true, she could use the assurance that the birth was going to be okay. And she was tired… Another yawn just confirmed that she needed to lie down for a little while. “Alright,” she agreed with a sigh, letting the older woman lead her towards the stairs. She paused and looked over her shoulder, asking Jon mentally, Will you be alright by yourself for a little while? Mori didn’t want to leave him if he wanted her close by…

Jon nodded upon hearing Mori's thought seeping into his mind as if it were his own, Yeah I'll be fine, I don't think she means us any harm. He smiled towards her watching the two as they made their ascent to the area upstairs. Then there was silence. It was awkward for a moment as Jon didn't know what to say or do in this situation. Finally he stood and moved to his chair in order to gain a better level of comfort, "So...?" Yeah no words came to his mind as he tried to think of something.
Alex was relieved as the other women disappeared upstairs. Well she had him alone, but was this really the best time. Great silence, just what she wanted. Then he started to speak and a slight relief slept over her for an instant until he only spoke one syllable. Fine she would just have to explain to him what was going on. "The reason that I'm here is that I saw you in a premonition."
Talk about stating the obvious. Jon chose not to make to much of a sarcastic remark, "Yeah you told us that you saw us in a premonition dream thing." All of these psychics. Jon had never really understood psychic ability, even after being with Mori for so long. It seemed the same with Mori towards poisons and antidotes. So most of the time when he heard people using psychic lingo it took him a second or two to really understand it.
Alex nodded, "Right but I saw everyone else in other dreams. The one I saw you in hasn't happened yet, I can tell because your here right now." She felt the need to be careful with her words at this point in time.
Jon quirked an eyebrow wondering what that was supposed to mean. Where else would he have been. This was his home, this was where he belonged, "Okay dare I ask what you mean by that." He took a sip from his tea trying not to over react yet. He needed to know exactly what was going on.
Alex sighed and her smile faded slightly, "Listen Jon I had a vision of you and you were severely injured and alone. It wasn't a dream it was a nightmare really. There was so much blood and you, I think you were going to die. The thing is Jon you didn't look any older than you are now and I just cant stand the thought of your children growing up without a father when I could at least warn you that something might be happening to you soon."
Jon's eyes were wide as she spoke. Had she really just told him that he might die soon? No she said that he was injured not dead yet in the vision and if she had seen it then it could be changed, "Alright so I'll just be more cautious next time I have to go out." He would have to go out though, there was no avoiding that. Ever since he had gotten that promotion he had been going on more dangerous assignments, especially to the dessert.
Alex shook her head, "Can't you just retire right now. Like as soon as you can I mean you could certainly sell those poisons you make for a living right?" She didn't want him to take any chance.
Jon shook his head, "No I can't do that it wouldn't pay enough for the twins." Very few things payed as well as the factions. To be honest he wasn't even certain he would want to quit. This was just all too much fun. "Just trust me when I say that I'll be safe." He stood from his seat wanting to change the subject, "Come on lets get a snack and you can tell me all about my father." Yes trade one conversation for one that he wanted to have. He walked into the kitchen hoping that the girl would soon follow.
"Fine but this isn't the end of this Jon." Alex laughed at herself trying to be serious and then with a smile skipped off after him in the kitchen. SHe would have no problem recounting stories about their father. In fact he enjoyed it quite a bit.

All had been quiet upstairs for a little while. That silence ended with very rapid steps coming down the stairs, making it clear it was Titania running down to the first floor. Using her empathy, she was able to pick up where the two humans had moved to and changed directions towards the kitchen side of the house. She hesitated, wringing her hands as she tried to think of the best way to explain this without having one very enraged husband on her hands. Finally, she settled for clearing her throat and saying, “Jon? There has been a…” pausing, she changed her word choice, “change in Mori’s condition.” They had been doing a simple diagnostic, but unfortunately the foreign feeling of Titania's psychic signature had upset the twins.
(...All I have to say was that it was your suggestion.)

Jon turned on his heel to face the demon woman. He had been snacking on an apple while continuing his conversation with Alex. She had ben telling some rather entertaining story involving a bear, a woodpecker and the misplacement of some tree bark. But the words that Titania had spoken had completely cut the mood. "A change." The word hung on his lips for a moment as his right eyebrow rose, "What kind of change, is something wrong?" Jon found himself doing the only thing that he knew to do, examining the situation. All had been fine before. The footsteps from before had told him that the elder demon was in a rush. Considering Titania's character as well as that of her son, rush was not a common attitude. This combined with that little hesitation in her voice this didn't bode well at all with the archer. Mori had been fine until she came so whatever the problem must have been it had to have been caused by this woman, "What did you do?" His voice was calm and even, not quite yet angry though there was definitely a sense of agitation and mistrust in his voice. He should have known better than to leave Mori alone with his stranger, he never should have trusted her. There was a light green hue slightly forming in his eyes as these thoughts came and went from his mind, only increasing what agitation that he felt. If she had harmed his wife or children,,,he didn't know what he would do, but he was certain it would not be pleasant. (You're the one out of ideas...seemed logical to me...if we weren't careful the captain would be having children before Mori...lol)

Holding her hands up in a pacifying gesture, she said pointedly, “I am the only midwife currently around who has ever delivered a Xerian child, and considering we tend to gore or claw our way out of the womb, I suggest you remain calm.” She had lost one daughter to that already, thanks to her grandson’s horn, she would rather not lose her sister-in-law in the same fashion.
“I was doing a diagnostic to see if your own children would do something similar, since them being only a quarter of demon blood means that we are unsure how any of this birth is going to happen, and Mori is unsure of how her own birth went. Unfortunately, the unborn babies have inherited at least Mori’s sensitivity to other psychic signatures. Mine being so close to their own, closer than Mori’s, agitated them, and she has gone into premature labor. While I tried to slow down and stop the contractions, the fact remains that those twin girls have your stubborn nature, and they are coming whether we like it or not,” she laid out all the facts blandly. This was not her first time serving as a midwife, and she highly doubted it would be the last. She knew they had hours before the contractions came quickly enough, painful hours in Mori’s case.
Taking a deep breath, she said with far more patience than she usually had, “Now, I suggest you brace yourself for a long night, and if you have already arranged for another midwife have her sent for.” With an authoritative nod that reminded them that she was used to having her orders obeyed, she made her way back upstairs, where she had arranged Mori to be as comfortable as possible.

The green slowly faded from Jon's eyes at her words. "No I don't believe we had a midwife prepared who could handle this situation. I'll be there in a moment." He watched the woman disappear upstairs and then turned to his sister...it still felt weird to even think of a sister. "Alex I need you to do something for me. Those two people you found earlier, one is Nemo the other is the Captain. I need you to find them and let them know what is going on. The captain will do as she pleases but she needs to know the twins are coming tonight. Can you do that for me?"
Alex had watched the entire scene with wide eyes. There it was, the side of Jon she had scene in her dreams. Yet it wasn't the same. It had been there or at least it had started to be but now it was gone. Strange. She jumped slightly as her bother turned towards her taking in his instructions as well as she could. "Yes I think I remember them. I'll try my best." She smiled grateful to be of use. She then turned and ran out the door to go search for the elusive couple.
Jon watched his sister leave closing the door behind her. "God I hope she finds those two." He was talking to himself. Trully he was hoping that she would find the captain more than Nemo. The last thin he needed was for Mori to feel any sort of agitation thanks to the presence of his bandit friend. Jon moved quickly up the staircase his steps barely making a sound as he made his way to the bedroom where his wife was most likely about to want to kill him for doing this to her. The thought was actually kind of amusing to think of once he had the image in his head.

Wringing out the rag she had found draped over the edge of a stone basin on the mantel, next to a matching pitcher full of water, Titania pressed it gently along Mori’s forehead and cheeks. The young half-demon’s temperature was spiking with each contraction. It wasn’t a symptom Titania was familiar with, but she didn’t dare read as to why until after it was safe for her to push. “Hold it together now,” she encouraged her sister-in-law. There a flare in Mori’s aura as another contraction started. Titania tried to keep the fever down throughout it. The extra heat worried her as far as how it was affecting the twins still inside her.
“Don’t worry so much,” Mori tried to assure Titania, but cut herself off with a gasp as pain rippled across her abdomen. Closing her eyes, she tried to concentrate on keeping anything from leaking to Jon rather than the contraction. She felt her temperature spike, and was glad that she was lying on top of the blankets, specifically an old, and very thick, wool blanket. Mori had already come very close to puncturing through it with her claws. Her grip relaxed as the contraction eased. Letting out a soft moan, she covered her eyes with one hand and said on a sigh, “It’s going to get worse than that, isn’t it?” She ignored Titania’s soft laughter.

Jon entered the room where Mori seemed to already be rather uncomfortable. He moved to her side staying out of Titania's way, "Alex apparently did not foresee this." He winked with a slight smile, "I sent her off to find the captain. I figured that if this happened and I didn't try to let her know I'd be in more trouble than normal." Though he would most likely just wind up doing something later that would just cause him to fall back out of favor. Gently he laid a hand on her arm mindful of the woman's claws that he hoped weren't about to rip ten small holes into their mattress.

Smiling up at her husband wanly, Mori raised her hand to tangle her fingers with his. “Never trust seers for everything,” she teased slightly, though slightly serious about it. She didn’t trust visions much, mainly because she didn’t want to believe that there was no choice in the future. Demons in particular seemed to take joy in spiting ideas of what was to come, as her own children were proving. Her other hands was smoothing over where the claws had been pulled out of the blanket as the contraction ended, thankfully not completely cut through the wool.
Watching the couple together, Titania frowned. She could smell Mori’s blood, and part of Jon’s through her, but now with the two together… Looking between them, she demanded sharply, “Did either of you check your blood polarities…? Never mind, I know the answer.” Stupid, stupid, stupid. Whoever the resident healer was, she was going to have even sharper words for them over this.
Grabbing Jon by the shoulder, she shoved him insistently. “Out,” she demanded briskly. “This may be getting horribly ugly. Your blood type is opposite polarity of Mori’s and your girls inherited, most likely because they are more human than demon. If their blood mixes with Mori’s, her body will start attacking them in defense of itself. Worse case, death. Best case, serious deformities.” Once he was outside the door frame, she said, “Ignore any screams or whimpers you may hear, that’s normal. Try to block the link between you two. You don’t want to feel any of this.” With that, she promptly shut the door. Rolling up her sleeves, she sighed, “Alright, my dear, let’s save the three of you from trouble…”
