After whipping her blade out from Kasen's foot, Hinata flipped backwards, landing lightly upon the ground. She had analysed enough- her opponent was clearly strong, agile and an excellent swordsman. However, if they carried on with this petty swordplay, their movements would easily become predictable to each other. It was time to throw another element into the battle. Literally.
"Che. I think we're warmed up enough," said the Vice-Captain, twisting her elbow experimentally to make sure it was still intact, "it's about time we fight seriously, hmm? You know what I mean. Oh and-" she brought her zanpaktou up to eye-level, adopting an unamused expression, "Harikaze! Cut the theatrics this time! I don't want the whole field to be blown away just by releasing my Shikai! You've caused enough damage to the environment!" For a moment, she looked quite comical, shouting at her zanpaktou and oblivious of her opponent's actions- though she soon returned to her normal state.
"Ahem. Sorry for the interruption. Chime, Harikaze."
It appeared that Harikaze was in an especially rebellious mood, because what seemed like a hurricane ripped through the training field, tearing up rocks and trees, and circling into Hinata's blade. A dense ball of swirling dust and wind engulfed her, as she braced herself, keeping a firm grip on her sword. When she emerged, it had changed completely. It was now shimmering white, its guard a pair of steel wings and its blade as thin as a rapier's. With a renewed fire in her eyes, she slashed it through the air, an arc of sharp, deadly crystals of air shooting towards Kasen.

Kasen flipped onto his feet as his eyes glimpse the wind changing and looked at Hinata who was arguing with her zanpakuto once more. However the amusement ended as she released her zanpakuto and created quite a storm upon the field as the area was destroyed and a small hurricane surrounded her as he tried gathering reiatsu into his hand. A glimmer of light shined from her blade as he studied its change in form and slight power raise.
Kasen ignited the stored reiatsu and created a flaming arrow and threw it at the crystals which exploded and scatted the crystals away from him, however one particularly stabbed him in the left arm which began bleeding. "Interesting..." Kasen said pulling out the crystal as he held his zanpakuto and stabbed the hilt into his hilt as he twirled the blade around as his reiatsu flowed out which was truly a dark aura. "Sting and Blaze, Kaosu Sasori..." Kasen said in a dark stinging tone.
Darkness and hellfire surrounded him as his zanpakuto was burning into a dark shape as Kasen slashed the dark flames away with the swing of his blade which revealed itself. The zanpakuto was now a dual-sided blade, a single hilt kept both blades together as each blade had a kanji, one with the kanji for fire, the other had the kanji for darkness. "Split the darkness and fire..." Kasen said as the hilt suddenly had an opening an the zanpakuto separated into two scimitar-like katanas. Kasen swung his left darkness blade which fired a dark purple arrow outward at Hinata.

"Arrows?" Hinata's eyes narrowed as she witnessed her crystal attack nullified by what seemed to be arrows of flaming reiryoku. She had never come across a shinigami that fired arrows- hell, she had never even fought anyone who fired arrows. In her seven years on Earth, she had scarcely met any Quincy; she assumed they preferred to leave Shinigami alone.
So where would Kasen have learnt this technique from? The thought intrigued her.
Suddenly, her opponent chanted his Shikai release. His zanpaktou became a blur of darkness as it changed into a double-ended blade. Impressive. Seconds later, Hinata was assaulted with a dark, almost black arrow of purple energy. Her reaction was immediate. Jabbing her zanpaktou in the air, she formed a small, thin, circular shield to block the attack. Her shield shattered- though this had been the intended effect. The shards now converged towards Kasen, circling him menacingly, as an eagle does its prey. With a snap of her fingers, the Vice-Captain commanded them to shoot inwards at her adversary from all sides.

Kasen studied Hinata as she formed a shield to counter his arrow, however it seemed to be exactly like the attack before, a crystal shattering which becomes a deadly attack. Kasen looked around him as the crystals surrounded him and were coming in for the kill as he swung his blades around in his hands. "Kaosu Kaji Nami No Sasori." Kasen shouted as his zanpakuto's glowed their respective elements as they released a burst of darkness and flaming reiatsu wave which countered the crystals as they shot them in an outward direction away from him.
"Quite the unique one, a crystal-user...." Kasen thought as he held his zanpakutos and brought them in an x-formation and ran toward Hinata as he brought his blades outward as they stored reiatsu and glowed. "Come my dear, let us continue!" Kasen shouted as he jumped upward and slashed downward with his dark blade and released eight arrows of darkness which moved were controlled his reiatsu and moved into his most dangerous attack.
The first arrow moved towards above Hinata and had had four move at different directions which had a single at the front of her, behind, to the left and right as well making it difficult to dodge and had the remaining three move above her at her upward left corner, upward right corner, and behind her upward which become his most difficult attack and most strainful do to moving them multiple directions which also made him dizzy just trying to find the spots. This was his pyramid of darkness attack which was quite difficult to create and dodge.

Hinata let her crystals, previously attacking Kasen, to dissipate- it was too much of a bother to summon them back in time for his retaliation. As her opponent frowned in the effort of placing his arrows in a pyramid-like lattice around her, she allowed new shards to flow from her blade. As soon as the arrows converged in towards, her, she released an arc of solid crystal, thereby making a space through which she flash-stepped out.
However, she was not so lucky as to perfectly dodge the arrows behind her. As she moved, one caught her on her right leg; a small, but deep cut formed, gushing ridiculous amounts of blood for its size. Sighing in annoyance, she decided to fix it when Kasen was occupied. Commanding her crystals to soar towards her adversary once more, she joined them, creating a large, dome-like structure. This effectively covered Kasen, with no means of escape but to somehow destroy it- in which case, the crystals would immediately attack him instead.

Kasen looked around at the dome which surrounded him from the world making him isolated and making him need a way out. Kasen formed a flaming arrow on his sword and set it at the point in which the hilt met the blade. Slashing the arrow away towards the highest center point, the crystal attacks the arrow and caused it to explode which the dome still intact. "Tough one aren't you?" Kasen asked out loud as he stabbed the ground with both blades as he closed his eyes and let his reiatsu flow out of him as he took deep breaths.
Kasen held his hands out as he concentrated on releasing something wicked upon the world as his hands had a small sphere of black and red reiatsu which slowly grew as more reiryoku was being released into reiatsu to form whatever was in his hands. Kasen's hand was devoured in flames and darkness as the reiatsu bursted into their elemental forms and his arms were consumed as the energy and elements built up.
Eventually a dark pupil arose from both darkness and flame as they merged into a single form known as Black Fire and became an entity which howled at the dome. "An attack that is similar to my own captain's, Black Flame Wolf!" Kasen shouted as the beast roared into the crystals which challenged the beast, however they had ignited the crystals and slowly broke them down as the creature rose into the top of the dome into a dangerous explosion to incinerate the crystals.

Hinata's eyes narrowed as the spiritual pressure from within her dome spiked. Black flames licked the sides of the dome as Kasen built up energy to attack. Feeling the reiatsu shift, she guessed her opponent was using an own ability of his; sure enough, seconds later, a colossal explosion shattered the crystal, incinerating them into air- quite unlike any ability she had seen before.
"Black Flame Wolf!" She heard Kasen shout as a lupine figure of darkness emerged from the flames. It was indeed similar to Evil-taicho's attacks; though Hinata had never fought the Commander-General herself, she had seen the destruction Evil could wreck.
"Not bad," muttered the female shinigami, flicking soot off her face. Not even waiting for the dust cloud to clear, she flash-stepped into its midst, aiming for where she sensed Kasen's reiatsu. From point-blank range, she slashed forwards with her blade at him, her sword but also a deadly array of crystals aiming to attack.

Kasen watched as the dome collapsed with the world revealing itself until he felt something coming towards him. Kasen brought his dark blade up at the presence and felt Hinata clash her crystal blade with his dark blade and he was soon face-to-face with the girl once more as he smirked. Kasen slashed with his flame sword at the dust to reveal he himself as he smiled and showed his fangs were slightly larger while his eyes had a dark ring of purple aura the pupils. "You're making me excited." Kasen said as the slight change had no significant power, only a physical representation of his power and his happiness as he was synced with his zanpakuto spirits.
Kasen twirled the flame sword and brought it upward as he slashed downward at Hinata's right arm as he was releasing one of Evil's gift, the instinct and mind of a beast. The blade fell coming closer to her arm as he smirked continuously as his old calm self had began deteriorating. "More crystals I'm assuming?" Kasen asked as the attack continued to her arm as he knew she had a plan somewhere.

As the dust was cleared by Kasen's sword, Hinata saw that his eyes had changed, and his canines were growing to a sharp point. This did not alarm so much as fascinate her; never having fought a werewolf before, she was interested to see what kind of new powers it gave him. Heightened senses? Stronger attacks? It seemed as if he was syncing with his zanpaktou- the same ominous reiatsu surrounded them both.
Flicking her sword up to block Kasen's blade, the girl grinned before replying:
"That's only part of it."
She flash-stepped away from her opponent, seemingly retreating. What he should not have realised, however, was that she had left a ring of crystals around him, close to the ground and obscured by dust and soot. They rose, beginning to spin with blinding speed around Kasen- she now had the power of wind at her side. A tornado soon followed, ripping up any grass or rocks in the area, and sucking them into its stormy depths. She widened the area that the crystals were spinning around, therefore causing Kasen to be caught in the tornado too. She closed her eyes. It was quite obvious where Kasen's reiatsu was coming from- she decided to take a risk.
"Hadou No. 4: Byakurai!" Hinata chanted the spell, jabbing her finger in the direction of Kasen's reiatsu within the tornado. Her first attempt made a small explosion; she had never been brilliant at kido. Grimacing, she tried again, forcing more energy into her arms.
With her awful lack of control over it, a small beam of energy travelled over, followed by a second huge outlet of blue light; the spell had magnified itself accidently, and soared towards the whirlwind. A second later, a huge explosion was heard, which must have been her spell going up in flames within the tornado. It took a while for her to realise just how much energy she had let out- anyhow, this battle couldn't last for much longer. She stood, waiting for Kasen to emerge.

Kasen circled around as he noticed the crystals rising around him and soon realized the world around him was being surrounded by wind and the crystals had trapped him as he noticed he was being sucked into the eye of the hurricane as he heard distorted words which only one part he knew was very bad. "-akura-!" Which were part of only word that could be used here, the fourth Hado, Byakurai. Kasen then expected a burst of lightning that would pierce the tornado and disturb its movements, however a small beam came in and he noticed a large burst was coming from behind. His eyes widen as he had only one thing on his mind as he saw this.
"You can't be serious?!" Kasen shouted as he as he gathered his reiatsu to try and counter. "Kasen! Kaosuyu!" Kasen shouted as he slashed in an x-formation to form eight black flaming arrows which collided and were absorbed making Kasen discouraged.
Kasen decided he would have to use his last resort to survive the attack. His right arm turned red as reiatsu poured out from it and was set ablaze as his arm pointed outward at his hands and had a larger circumference as his right arm became a large flaming stinger with his blade pointing out. "Sasori Buster!" Kasen shouted as he punched the large lightning burst stream and caused a large explosion within the tornado as he fell backwards outside the tornado with his clothes singed off and his right arm was bare now as he descended to the ground. Dragging his feet back he landed as his left leg seemed to be cracked and his right arm was suffering from burns.

“Had enough yet?” Hinata questioned with a wan smile. She did not often consider this, but for once, she was glad Harikaze was on her side. She, for one, would not have liked to be on the other end of that attack combination. As Kasen landed, she noticed he looked distinctly more dishevelled than before. His arm was singing and badly burnt- his leg stuck out at a painful angle as he landed. She, as well, was aching all over from the sudden loss of reiatsu as she fired the kido. Well, suckers for her. This battle was awesome.
“You’re persistent. Most people would have been scared off at the start when I accidently shouted at you,” the female shinigami carried on. She seemed to pause thoughtfully, before turning to Kasen with a pensive expression. “You know… Long, drawn-out battles are boring. I doubt either of us has enough energy left anyway. So, it’s defend or die now. Let’s see how strong you can make yourself, hmm?”
With this, Hinata tucked her zanpaktou back into her belt, without re-sealing it. Gathering reiryoku, she forced it through her limbs, until her whole body radiated a distinct, green aura. A fire kindled in her eyes- white, showing the energy of her zanpaktou also channelling through her. Her reiatsu spiked alarmingly, the first signs of her real potential. By concentrating all her power on her limbs, she could fight at maximum speed, power and endurance. Her bond with her zanpaktou spirit now extended into her very being- she could feel Harikaze’s power in her fingertips- it was a sparking, burning sensation. Tracing her finger through the air, she caused a thin line of crystals to materialise; a snap later, they had dissipated.
“Impressed? You know I’ll be expecting you to push your power to the limit as well. I’ll give you the first move,” she said with a sadistic expression.

Kasen laughed as Hinata asked if he had enough. Kasen grinned as Hinata revealed her powers and he laughed as he put on his cloak which covered the torn uniform. Kasen's arms glowed as his reiatsu poured out ominously as his arms disappeared under a layer of condensed reiatsu which took their most potent form. "Sasori Buster! Kaosu Buster!" His left arm covered in darkness took on the shape of a dark black claw while his right arm became a stinger once more, as Kasen saved this attack in case he would need it.
Kasen was given the first strike, however he knew time was not on his side and needed to end this quickly. Raising his dark claw, Kasen ran forward and stabbed outward with the claw firing an arrow as he came closer and slashed downward at Hinata.

Still with that sardonic smile, Hinata watched as Kasen released his claw and stinger, the potent glow around his arms showing the amount of power he was putting in. As he charged at her, she raised her hand- a layer of crystal, infused with her own reiryoku, formed on her palm. As soon as she glimpsed the arrow soaring towards her, she swooped her hand at its tip, knocking it away with minimum damage. She figured that, by getting it away from her as opposed to taking its full force, she would need less effort- sure enough, the crystals were barely singed as she drew her hand away.
Kasen's next attack would be harder to block. Apparently, the arrow had only been a temporary distraction, as a split second later, he was slashing down at the female shinigami with a ferocious force. Her instincts came into play; raising her hands, a great, spiked array of crystals grew with alarming speed, not only blocking the attack, but also weaving their way around Kasen's claw arm, encapsulating it and restricting its movement. From his elbow, they suddenly spiked towards his head and neck- if he didn't escape quickly, he risked being impaled.

Kasen watched as Hinata did not comprehend the actual power of his arrows, as they were not meant to pierce or strike, but to decimate as it exploded at the thin layer of reiryoku had been destroyed on contact. But she was still coming for him as her hand blocked his strike, however his arm was ensnared as he couldn't move the arm and the dark aura was trapped and impalement was near as the crystal were alive to seek his death. However his arm roared and growled as he was released from the claw as the dark energy that surrounded his arm became a dark wolf which set his hand free which radiated with the energy still.
"My wolf, I shall miss you..." Kasen said as he slashed downward at the ground which made a dangerous reiatsu wave of darkness towards Hinata while he pointed his stinger at Hinata and fired two flaming arrows behind the darkness away which set it ablaze as it became black flames. Firing more flaming arrows at Hinata, Kasen fell onto his knees as he took a deep breath, his body was nearly destroyed before and these crystals were something he never experience. Smiling a bit he looked at Hinata as he tried to counter her crystals.

"Whoa!" Hinata yelled as a wave of dark reiatsu engulfed her before she could flash-step away. The layer of reiryoku as well as crystals on her hand had been vaporised upon contact- the energy now seared her arms, causing large burns. Thankfully, due to the stored reiryoku in her arms, they did not penetrate further than the first layer of skin, though they still stung like hell and weren't helped by the fact that one of her sleeves was actually on fire. Whipping her hands out furiously, she created a flurry of crystals which, with the motion of wind created by their movement, cleared the area within two metres radius of her from fire.
However, the female shinigami had not counted on the subsequent bombardment of arrows, set alight by the energy flames. She leapt into the air and did an awkward flip to avoid the first two, before landing as lightly as she could. The second volley of arrows came soaring towards her a split second later, and to avoid all of them, she had to perform a move which she found extremely taxing for her tired brain. She sent each shard at an arrow- many hundreds she had to control at once. They collided head-on, creating minature explosions as the attacks cancelled out each other. Inevitably, some arrows escaped- she dodged the first, blocked the second and third, but the fourth stabbed right into her left shoulder and exploded. It seemed that it had hit an artery, for blood literally shot out of the wound, splattering the ground.
"Ouch- what a pain," Hinata complained as if forgetting she was in a serious battle. Retrieving a roll of spare bandages tucked under her kosode, she attempted to wrap up the wound one-handed. It wasn't wrapped very neatly, and she could have done much better, but time was of the essence. Flexing her arm to make sure it still functioned, she turned to Kasen.
"That was really annoying..." the Vice-Captain grimaced at the bloodstains on her robes. "Right. Let's finish this."
Gathering what was left of her depleted reiatsu reserves, she created an army of thousands of crystal needles. Small, transparent, they were hard to detect- save for the tiny, whirring sound made by them spinning like drills. This made them designed to penetrate- she had never before seen anything block them fully. For herself, she created twin, short swords, light and thin, fast, deadly.
Her reiatsu increased to the point that she was simmering in green flames- the mere force caused the grass around her to ripple as if under a storm. Steeling herself, she focused on nothing but her opponent. Suddenly increasing her awareness, she could sense his every shift in movement, by his reiatsu.
It was over in the twinkling of an eye- Hinata flash-stepped, her thousand shards also moving with her at a blinding speed- they converged on Kasen in milliseconds, aiming for every inch of his body. Jabbing with her swords, at his heart, she made to look as if she was going to sink her crystal blades into it. In fact, she made them grow, shooting out until they became five-metre long lances that hoped to penetrate Kasen at some point in their length. This was her all- she could already feel the concentration and reiryoku needed draining her energy.
(( What should be the outcome? Hopefully they'll both get to stab each other, but afterwards? ))
