I don't hate Shinn, but he is so annoying. I just don't understand him. Besides, he's the newbie. It's hard to like the newbies. But I do tend to think that Shinn is a bit phsycotic. His story is sad, but he just needs to get a life. I swear he thinks everyone is against him or something. And he has this never-ending vengence against Kira. If he were to actually meet Kira, then he would think twice about wanting to kill him. Afterall, it was just an accident. I really don't see how he could think Freedom killed his family on purpose. I mean there was a battle going on and they were standing out in the mist of it. Which is another reason to not blame the Attha's for his family's death. Hey, Uzumi told them to evacuate the country. It's their fault for not leaving fast enough.

In my opinion, I seen all Gundam Seed Destiny episodes and Shinn, he is pretty annoying, and he keeps on going into SEED Mode almost everytime in battle but Kira he doesn't cry (at least I don't he does) anymore in Gundam Seed Destiny and he protected Lacus Clyne (also the others) and the little kids

I think you're right. Kira didn't cry at all during Destiny. And he did do a lot of protecting. But that can be overrated. I think he likes to protect people way too much.
In some ways Kira and Shinn are alike...but in most ways they aren't. xd
I remember reading somewhere, I guess in another forum where someone wrote something about Shinn. They were talking about the Shinn/LunaMaria thing when Shinn says he'll protect her. I almost laugh when this guy said that he was feeling worried about LunaMaria because if Shinn tries hard to protect her then she might end up dead. Since everyone he always tries to protect seems to end up dying. xp

I thought he was Kira too. I was like WTF...why is Kira with that other girl? Why the hell is Kira in Zaft? I seriously thought Kira betrayed them and went to Zaft...would have made up a better storyline though.

Brace yourselves... my two cents on Shinn.
Shinn, he's not a bad character. Sure, he's a pain at times (yes, I thought so too) and he also made some decisions that I don't agree with. But you have to admit that along with Flay, he's a very realistic character. I don't hate him for that. As to why other people hate him, "He killed Todaka" or "He killed Auel" isn't good enough for me. -_- Sure, Kira killed Generic Soldier #100, but no one cares about him, eh? Just the big characters... oh, and Kira killed Stellar too, didn't he? No one cares about that, either... and I thought Kira was better in Seed - sure, he cried a lot, but that's realistic too. You can't expect a boy thrust into killing to enjoy it. He's sixteen - give him a break. In Destiny, he went uber-quiet. I liked the crybaby better. So, my vote goes to... Shinn.

You gotta point, but it still won't change my decision.
But like I said before, I don't hate Shinn. I actually like him. In fact, I really did liked him when Destiny first came out. I just thought he was really cool and mysterioius and somewhat pitied him for what happened in his past. But the writers overplayed it. They overplayed it way too damn much. 'Til the point it seems as if the only reason why Shinn is in this war is just because he wanted revenge for something that no one had control over. Somehow...everything always pointed to either Kira or Cagalli. And Shinn hardly knew either one...he never even met Kira. Most likely if you have a vengeance score with someone...its because you know them. It still doesn't mean that I dislike him, he just became an annoying character that's all. In fact, this is somewhat the writer's fault because the season started Shinn out as a main character and then his role just sort of died out. He wasn't even that important anymore. Its like the writer's just used him as an obstacle for Athrun and Kira, which annoyed A LOT of Athrun/Kira fans. If you put someone against them...they won't be liked. Not to mention that he was a HUGE obstacle for Athrun in general. Almost throughout the whole season. And I still can't figure out what Shinn had against Athrun.
Now Kira on the other hand...yes he killed. And yes, he killed well liked characters as well. But he gets away with it because he's one of those rare well-liked main characters. But usually when Kira kills someone its by accident and that's why nobody ever questions them. And once he kills them, he sits in his room and cries. Or in Destiny's case...he would at moments say kind words about how he regrets the decisions he makes in war. More like he's always asking for forgiveness for the deeds he have done. I guess Kira was better in SEED...but he had to stop crying eventually. I think killing Le Crueset changed him. But you're right....its somewhat dull that Kira became so quiet in Destiny. I mean how can the main character from the first season be so non-active in the sequel? Not like he was really non active...but he was more like a supporting character. To who? I really don't know. It's hard to figure out who's the main character in Destiny. Someone said that Destiny was about Athrun's decisions in war...and it pretty much seemed that way. But the storyline somewhat drifted away from him. Just like it did Shinn. I think the creators were too wishy-washy about what to put in Destiny.

I have to disagree on ONE thing... I believe Kira actually stole the spotlight from Shinn, who is SUPPOSED to be the main character. At about episode 39, we see the Strike Freedom, all spiked up with uber-powers. We can't NOT expect that Kira's going to get a big break, no matter how quiet the guy is.
And yes, the crying had to stop at some point, but they didn't have to replace it with extra-emptiness... I mean, they could have made him into a more... interesting character, one who's maybe still conflicting with himself a bit but trying to get a hold of who he is? Wait, Creuset solved that, didn't he... or at least, still conflicting a bit. I was surprised that the return of the war didn't bring back some of the old Kira after some peace, anyways...
I wanted to beat up the writers... the first few episodes had that good quality, and it went downhill. Poor Shinn.

Red_knightm I just saw a few of you guys talking in the gundam seed eternity forum in the AMC and I was wondering can I get some intelligent reasons why you guys hate Shinn without spoilers because I havn't watched anything of destiny yet. Shinn is the best mobile suit poilet! i dont hate him he rules! And yeah i heard about gundam seed eternity and i wanna know where i can download the episodes on my pc. does any1 know where i can download those episodes of gundam seed eternity?
