Adenar disrobed slowly and carefully, folding his long coat, vest, shirt , trousers, undergarments, and boots. Once he piled his belongings neatly to one side, Aden transformed. His height increased several feet, and he grew sleek black fur. He was smoothly muscled, not heavily but with enough toned muscle to appear etched under his fur. He was massive in his half form. His tail swayed slowly behind him and his ears perked. His nose took in the air around him, and his nostrils flared as he breathed out. He gazed down at her. She was now several feet shorter than he was. He held out a hand to her. Shall we dance, my love?

Aden stepped in the rhythm of the universe. The forest creatures and natural noises acting as am orchestra for them as they danced about. Aden swept Kira off her feet several times while turning. The sight was beautiful. Aden was experiencing a new level of fondness for her, and a deeper connection. He reached out with his mind. Shall our minds dance as well?

Aden's mind wraps within hers, and something in his soul just clicks. He feels that he is finally complete, with her in his arms, and with their minds joined. He can feel every bit of her love and affection, and returns it ten fold. I don't think... I know... Adenar pulls Kira up, lifting her paws off the ground, and continues in step so that they are dancing eye to eye. He stares into Kira's large eyes, and says, I will always be yours. My heart is no longer my own, and never can be as long as I live... Be with me Kira...please.

Aden lowered Kira to the ground and kissed her gently, then he laid down on the cool, dew covered grass and looked at the stars. He lay there, absorbing everything that had just transpired, his blood still pumping with energy and his brain racing in thought. He looked back through her memories, and in turn allowed her to browse his own. He composed a simple but clear idea of who she was, and burned it into his mind. Her hair, her fur, her clear Amethyst eyes, and even how she blushed when he teased her. He could not stop thinking about her for even a second. He looked over at her and then back up at the stars. Lifting his paw he traced out several constellations in the sky. The stars winked back down at him in confirmation that everything was as it should be, and nothing was out of place. He looked at Kira, A long time ago, my mother was taken from my father and I by the smallpox. As we sat on her deathbed she uttered her last words. They were not a plea for forgiveness, nor a wish that we remember her. She simply said, "Aden... happiness is like water. If you grasp it in your hands, it will slip through your fingers. But if you make a cup for it, you can keep it forever." After that she didn't say a word... and then she passed... Sometimes I doubted her words... but now, under this brilliant moon... I think I've found a cup, and someone to drink from it with me.

I want to end this war, or help end it... and then I want to put my old trade to good use... I'm getting tired of being a soldier. I'm a peerless soldier, but sometimes I'm haunted by the images of the men I've had to kill... Sometimes innocent people have died because I was ordered to kill them. I can't take much more of it. Being a city guard is fine to me for now, but what happens when war is brought to Aviano? I understand that I need to kill in self defense, its happened to me before... but war is something unnatural and disgusting... as for what I hope? I hope that I get to see you for the rest of my life, natural or unnatural.

Aden smiles, drinking in the moment, and holds Kira, occasionally kissing her softly under the pale moonlight. And you are a fine woman...

'And perhaps one day a fine mother', Aden thought more to himself smiling.
