I actually agree with everybody on all of this... I like a lot of the things they add to Gaia to keep it interesting- the new clothes, the new rares and new donation items... but it's getting so repetative, they'll run out of new items to come up with, then what will they do? Add weapons. Oh yeah, all you guys are sure gonna love that, aren't ya.. rolleyes The thing is, they keep adding new features to keep us interested. They want us to keep coming back and spending all our time on their website, so they come up with more and more ideas of things to do, but people are spending less and less time posting and actually talking like we used to when the forum was still new. What shocked me (nearly knocked me out of my chair) was when Xuco showed me this pic...

Totally agreed. gonk Honestly, I come to Gaia less and less the more they add things to it... They added the friends list that I wanted when I first joined, but now it seems pointless, since about 80% of those friends have quit Gaia completely now... and who needs a friends list in Gaia when we have AIM, Yahoo, or MSN? It was funny.. the day they had added the friends list, someone told me, and I was off in Furcadia... I tried to come to Gaia just to check it out for a minute, but I couldn't even get to the homepage. So I didn't even bother coming back to Gaia for a few days after that. stare

Wow there was a rollback? xd Heh.. who knew? I guess that's what I get for stayin gone for a week? blaugh

Oh well.. one thing I can say I truly like about the new Gaia is this new guild system. My guild, the Divine Order of the Phoenix, seriously needs something like this. It's given me new ideas for things to do to get the guild really active again, and everyone in the guild who still posts is scraping their gold together right now so we can afford to get one of these forums. We're all really excited about it. xp

Yea, guilds is about the only usefull thing they added lately.

And as my saying goes.

What good are new features when you can't use them?

Adding of clothes/hairstyles = fun, sometimes something interesting pops up, and just cool to play around with

gold for posting = s**t - speaks for itself.

Guildsystem = pretty good, gives us our own little habitats that only we can use, and the captain or crew can always control it without having to wait AGES for a fricking mod to pay attention.

Games - fishing...???!!?? o.0 seriously, way to add more lag to the system! lets make a new problem before fixing the existing ones on our websites too! its the Gaian way!

Friends list - So nifty, after spending half hour trying to get to the profile/friends list page, spends a while checking everyones current status. other than that, it does nothing! woo!

the layout - come on people, grow up a bit, they are no longer using the crappy phpbb layout. Ill admit maybe a bit childish, and Ive never used neopets as its been a gay concept (yay a digital pet, no more need for my real one!), but this isnt neopets, this is gaia. deal with it.

So uhhh dressing up a fake person is better then a fake pet?

Nay, I think you mis understand, I disagree with this idea that a digital pet is better than a real one. I'd rather keep my real dog than make some pixels on the net thnx.

Gaia on the other hand is a forum, the avatar creation is but a small part of this, the argument is that some people dont see this, valuing the gold over the people, or in the layout case, its something different, If you dont like it, no one forced you to come today, you still did. so a few things are in different places, so what. its Gaia, its a forum, come to chat. right?

But yea, I whole heartdly agree. I dunno though, I just find some of the apsects of the new layout annoying. I just don't like the index page with all those buttons and what not. Plus I think they need to update the descriptions on the forums.
