Mikuzaki sighed. Today wasn’t going so hot.
When Kiseki and Kazuma had come to the door, threatening them all, she was absolutely useless. All she had done was stand there with a cup. A CUP!. Seriously, if that was all that she could improvise with, then maybe she wasn’t cut out for this SEES2 thing after all.
Kicking at the rocks outside the riverbed, she sat there, doing nothing to help, as usual. No training, no fighting, no healing, nothing.
“Why am I such a coward? Why can’t I be brave like Shikari or Haseo?” Frowning a frown full of self-loathing, Mikuzaki lowered her head into her arms, ready to cry. “Just… A… Liability…” She sniffled, thoroughly disheartened.
Just as the girl was preparing a beration to her self-esteem, a firm, yet cold voice echoed throughout The Flood Plains. “Just a liability? Mikuzaki Gin, there is no such thing as a liability. Everybody has a use. Everybody.” The pink haired girl that was Kira took a seat next to the depressed girl.
“K-kira?!” Mikuzaki called out in soft surprise to the girl she had met a few hours beforehand. ’It’s so late… What is she doing out?’
“What are you doing out so late, Mikuzaki Gin.” The way Kira had asked the question, and the way she had stated her name in full like that bothered Mikuzaki greatly, but she would never dream of telling her that.
“I… Uh… Just needed some alone time…” Mikuzaki let out a nervous chuckle, drying the tears off of her face.
“I see. Well, as I was saying before, even when you feel useless, there’s always a use for you. It may be something like supporting your comrades, or simply cleaning the house up, but you can always do something. At the very least, brighten somebody’s day.” Kira, despite her tone, sounded quite sincere. What a clever trick on her part.
“B-but… I can’t ever do anything right and I’m a coward!” Mikuzaki protested.
“Doing just ‘anything,’ as you put it, isn’t the priority. Doing what matters when you’re most needed is. Have you ever heard the phrase, ‘He who fears nothing is an idiot, yet he who fears everything but acts regardless is truly courageous.’ I do believe this applies to you. If my analysis of your character is correct, than you may be the bravest person I have ever met in a world full of fearless idiots.”
“R-…. Really?” Mikuzaki asked, eyes wide with curiosity, and cheeks flushed with embarrassment. What Kira said may or may not have been her real opinion (and I’m leaning towards the latter), but it was true nevertheless, and just as quickly as she came, the pink haired wonder left, leaving Mikuzaki to sit at the riverbed all on her lonesome.
‘Kira’s…. Right… I am brave… I can do this! I will protect Inaba, and no evil will stop me!’ An emotional fist pump soon followed. Omake Contest Award Winners ~::Editor's Choice::~

[Possible Future events.] The Legion of Evil had once again invaded Inaba, and Kazuma was off on his own, causing general mayhem. Until...
"Kokoro!!" A familiar voice rang out from behind Kazuma.
"Hm?" Kazuma turned and raised and eyebrow before realizing who it was. "Oh, you again... Leon, right?"
Leon nodded and stood firm as he held his still sheathed sword at his side "That's right."
Kazuma smirked "So tell me Leon, how do you like the new look of Inaba?"
"Heh." Leon also smirked, the shrugged "Can't say I like what you've done, you might want to try a professional decorator next time. You guys have such terrible tastes when it comes to decrotives." He spoke in a mocking tone.
Kazuma laughed loudly "Ha ha ha ha ha!! So how about you tell me why you're here, eh Mori?" He got into a fighting stance and stood ready "I know you didn't come here just to chat."
An almost menacing grin covered Leon's face "You're right." He thrusted his sword into the air and took hold of the sheath with his free hand, almost tearing it off his blade "We're going to hell and back Kazuma!!" Leon yelled before throwing his sheath off the the side.
The menacing grin still painted in his face.

[A/N: Mirei's i guess.]
Mirei sat there next to Akihiko as people paid their respects to Kuto and the remaining Sanada family. She hadn't talked to anyone since the fight at the Kirijo dorms and didn't seem to want to talk to anyone for that matter.
"Mirei-san, will you please talk at least to tell me something? Anything?" Akihiko ask the girl softly as his teammates, who knew nothing of his cousins until Mirei came to inform him of Kuto's death, were at the front of the line paying their respect. He bowed his head towards them as he tapped Mirei's hand lightly to get her to look up from her funeral kimono.
Mirei slowly looked up to see the members of SEES and SEES-2 there and bowed her head to them before returning to staring at the lap of her kimono. She just sat there letting the tears come and fall from her eyes not bothering to hide them as she was sure everyone expected her to cry since she was mourning the lost of her twin and other half.
Unknown to her, Akihiko had invited everyone from Yasogami to come and pay their respects even if they didn't know either twin. Once again, Akihiko tapped her hand and when Mirei looked up she saw everyone. Yukiko was holding Chie's hand while crying onto Leon's shoulder. Seated next to them was Yosuke who had his arm around Chie's chair, Teddie who was holding Misha's hand and Kijin at the end of the row. Soji, Rise, Naoto and Kanji seating behind them. The members of SEES and SEES-2 were sitting together, well everyone but Haseo. She hung her head as she realised Kiseki was probably right about he really didn't care about her and the tears started to fall more but this time from her broken heart not the missing part of her.
Seeing a tissue being held out from next to her, Mirei assumed Akihiko had noticed her tears and turned to thank him as she took the tissue only for her to notice Akihiko was now sitting on the other side of her for she noticed the person holding the tissue was wearing clothes totally different from the older Sanada. She looked up at the person to see Haseo in Akihiko's old seat and took tissue before wiping her tears away as she couldn't use her voice to speak.
Slowly reaching a hand over, Haseo took one of Mirei's hand in his as to comfort her and held to her hand as the funeral started until the end when he refused to let her go. As the funeral ended, she bowed one last time to thank everyone for coming even if Haseo wouldn't let go of her hand.
'Maybe he does care.'

[Alternate Universe - If she never came to Inaba] Riika frowned. The boy sat in front of her, watching her draw with such skill that he categorized as ‘god – like’. Her bright green eyes looked up into his face, into his own ice blue orbs before feeling her cheeks grow warm and forcing herself to look down. “What’dya want, Takeshi – kun ?” she asked, going back to her doodle. He smiled and rested his chin on his hands.
“Oh, nothing really. I just like watching you draw, Rii – chan ~” He then paused, contemplative. Riika, at the nickname and his comment, blushed more and pretended to ignore him.
The face on her drawing was well-defined with a strong jaw-line on a handsome face, a gentle smile, and fierce, determined eyes. She looked between Takeshi and her drawing before realizing what she was doing.
Riika stood then and turned on her heel, leaving behind a confused boy.
The junior sat on Gekkoukan’s rooftop, the sketchpad on her lap as she stared out past the fence. The sun was setting, which wasn’t surprising for the time of year. Winter. . . Time was a strange concept for her, since school took up most of it, and being with her friends seemed to take up so much less. Since she had no one to go home to, Riika was often alone. Arata Takeshi, a class mate of hers, took it upon himself to be her companion. She couldn’t remember their conversation very well, but there was something that had to do with her looking ‘lonely’.
She paused and looked down at the drawing. It was different, talking to this kid. He was so lively, so open about himself, and Riika. . . wasn’t. She was so used to just being quiet and alone – unnoticed - that when Arata offered friendship, she was scared. She’d met his sisters, too. He wasn’t like Miki or Natsuko, who both were so close to their mother, a great detective. He was more like his father, a man who spoke little but meant a lot to their family. And the way he treated the little girl, Keiko. . . Just damned adorable. He was a big brother, all right.
“Whoa, Rii – chan ~ ! I said you were a good artist, and I’m surprised you got my good side.” She groaned and hit her head with her book.
“. . . So. . . you want me to leave you alone ?” Riika nodded, lying. Catching on to that, Arata walked towards the fence, then looked back at her with a sly smirk.
“Hey, think I could climb this ?” Riika’s eyes widened and she stood straight up, ready to stop him. Arata’s bright brown eyes looked back at her, and he grinned. “Or maybe not. Scared ya, huh ?”
“Ugh, no. . . Takeshi – kun, don’t do that ! I thought you. . . might have.” He frowned, realizing what she was conveying.
“Sorry, guess I wasn’t thinking. Um, so, you forgive me though, right ?” She nodded, clutching the book close to her. Arata stepped closer to her and placed a firm hand on her shoulder. “Hey, wanna go over to Mandragora ? You promised me a song or two . . .” Sighing, and trying her best not to hit her face with her palm, Riika nodded, sighing in defeat.

Riika lounged on her couch, cell phone in hand. Summer’s heat was really getting to the senior, but she didn’t mind it that much. After all, he was coming to visit, along with someone named Nagi. The three of them were going to meet up with another group of kids, mostly younger than the trio. It was a party to celebrate her eighteenth birthday.
A familiar theme popped in, causing Riika to sit up and slide her phone open. “Yo ?” she managed, sounding groggier than she herself had anticipated. “Heya beautiful. Careful when getting up, but can you open the door ? I kinda got my hands full. . .” Perplexed, she stood and walked over to the door of her apartment, opening it slowly.
She received a soft kiss on the lips and a familiar playful chuckle afterword. “Oh, Arata, you a*****e. The least you could do was warn me,” she teased, hugging him.
The party never happened, but Riika did learn that kids who played tricks always went hand in hand with those who don’t.

"Damn it." Souji screamed, watching as one by one, his team mates had somehow encountered rather gruesome and bloody deaths. 'Rednal, Naoto, Yuno, Leon, Shikari, Haseo, Yukiko, Teddie.' he thought, recalling the names of the people who had already been felled by the numerous ranks of shadows scattered throughout the Digital Data World. It was a bad choice to go there, despite the fact that the Investigation Team and SEES-2 had joined together. While they had strength in numbers, it seemed that that alone wasn't enough. He cursed, turning back to see Hikaru being dragged back into the shadow, screaming for them to help him. No help was received, as the shadows had blocked all paths to the blond boy. The screaming had stopped for a moment after his entire body was enveloped in the darkness, before soon after, a blood curdling scream was heard, then silence.
"We've gotta keep moving!" the silverette told the last few, living members of his group. Rise, Kanji, Faust and Daisuke. The five continued running down the hall, narrowly avoiding a few shadows that would have surely killed them had they been caught. "Damn it. Go on without me!" Kanji had told the group after tripping to the ground. "Quickly, there's no time!" his last words before having a spear impaled through his back, soon after having his skull crushed. The shattered bits of his skull littered the floor, covered in the mixture of his brain's fluid and blood. "Kanji!" Faust yelled, trying to reach for the corpse of the delinquent before promptly being pulled back by Souji and Daisuke. "We can't die here now, Faust-kun. It'd have made Kanji-kun's death be in vain!" Daisuke said, nodding reassuringly to the green-haired boy, before giving him a pat on the back.
The group continued their trek, but before they had reached the exit, a pair of large shadows had blocked the path to the exit. "We don't have the strength to take these guys on. I think.... I think this is it." Rise told the group rather quietly, trying hard not to cry. Behind Souji and Rise, Faust and Daisuke looked at each other, nodding, moving in front. "We'll hold these guys back, just get out! This'll be my last request to you, Souji. We've already accepted our fates, but be sure not to share it with us!" Faust told the two, before he and Daisuke charged towards the shadows, both being blown to opposite ends of the room. They had succeeded at distracting the shadows, but at what cost? "Faust! Daisuke!" Rise yelled, tears now starting to fall from her eyes as she heard the screams of her friends. "I'll live on, if not for myself, then for them!" Souji told Rise, grabbing her hand and running for the exit.
The two had successfully managed to escape the Data Dungeon World, not bothering to look back until they had reached the lobby of the TV World. The stack of TVs was awaiting their passage, but the two paused a bit to regain their breath. "We've somehow managed to escape, but we still need to warn the others. Are you ready? he asked Rise, walking closer to the stack of TVs, but stopped. "Rise?" he asked, turning around. The sight before him made his eyes widen in shock. "Rise!" he screamed, moving forward, hand outstretched. Somehow, Raiden had managed to grab hold of Rise, and now had his sword by her throat. "No, no no no no no! Please, don't kill her! At least, take me instead! he said, desperately begging the cyborg to let her go, but to no avail.
"Do it, Raiden." a deep voice commanded, the cyborg ninja nodding soon after. "I love you, Souji." Rise told him, tears now flowing freely from her eyes, before soon having her throat slit, and her body thrown to the side. "Did you really think that you would have escaped your fate just because you escaped my dungeon? Foolish. With your death, soon, this entire world will be mine. Hetero told the silverette, flashing in front of his slumped over figure. Grabbing Souji by the collar, he raised him high enough to be able to look into his eyes, and soon plunged his hand into the young man's chest, pulling out his still beating heart. The last thing the silverette saw before fading into the darkness of death was the deranged smile on Hetero's face, and the dead body of his lover....

In his room, a teenager sighed, putting down the controller on the ground and leaning back. Near him, a girl looked towards him and smiling. "I told you Souji, you shouldn't have gone into that dungeon yet at your current level. You need to be at least in your nineties before being able to stand a chance in that dungeon." Rise told the silverette, earning yet another sign from Souji. "I don't think I'm going to play this game for a long while." the silverette said, looking at the box of the game 'Persona 4:FES'. "Why don't you play? This time, I'll watch." he told her, earning a giggle from the brown-haired girl. "Alrighty. Watch and learn!"

It's requested you listen to this while reading for full pleasure. (And yes, I'm full aware it's from that, but hey, it's by Shoji Meguro.)
“Seeeeenpaaaaaaai !!” The red head looked around his classroom, pouting. No sign of him there. She looked around the club building.
Nothing.
Exhaling loudly, Rise decided to go up to the roof top. After all, he promised to meet her today. When there was no sign of his presence, she sat on the wall and waited, pulling out her cell phone. She sent him a text message, and then looked through her phone’s photo album. There were a lot of pictures of her boyfriend and her together, and some that she took without his noticing. He always had that look about him; that one that made her heart beat fast against her chest. But lately. . . She’d failed him, she felt like.
She stared at the last one in her album. It was Souji and her at a festival, his arm draped over her small shoulders. The couple in the picture looked so happy, and she was jealous. She wasn’t there for him like she promised. Sure, Rise knew that she was important to the team, and that being able to do something for them was great, but she felt like she was losing her commitment to them both.
Something warm caught her by surprise, and she wiped her eyes to try to stop the tears of her betrayal. Rise Kujikawa did not deserve a man like Souji Seta, who was reliable, and strong. . . And so hurt. She realized she hadn’t been there for him like she should have been, and her tears wouldn’t stop.
Pi pi pi pi !! Looking down at her cell, she saw there was one message. Not caring to check the number, she flipped open her phone before dropping it.
Spam. Of course. This let down had her feeling guiltier than before.
A hour passed, and Rise decided to head home, but on her way there, she found herself at the hill that overlooked Inaba. She stood there, watching all the people and the cars as they went on their merry way. The spring breeze had her shivering, but not for long.
“Rise ?” a voice behind her called, and she turned to see who it could be. Even though she already knew. Even though she was still crying. The silverette tilted his head, both puzzled and worried. “Rise ? Are you crying ? Did something happen ?” Within seconds, the small ex – idol had her arms wrapped around his abdomen, apologizing many times under one breath.
Souji, still confused, put his hands on her shoulders and made it so he could see her face. “Hey, whoa. Calm down. Just. . . tell me, okay ? Can you do that ?” Rise nodded, and the two of them sat on the bench under the pavilion.
As Rise explained how she felt, the silverette contemplated on this quietly, an arm around her shoulders, holding her closer to him. The red haired girl enjoyed the comfort he brought. It pushed all of her negative thoughts away after she had finished. What he chose to do next was another matter, but for now, she closed her eyes and hummed a tune that was less than likely to sound familiar. After all, she didn’t even remember what it was from.
Once it seemed that her senpai had reached a decision, Rise sat up straight and watched him carefully with her bright eyes. He looked to her and smiled softly, which was. . . well, to be expected. But then it dropped. “Don’t. . . Don’t give up, whatever you do. Now that I know how you feel, I feel better knowing that you aren’t avoiding me.” Hearing that caused her to look down, but a finger on her chin caused her to look up at him again. “Stop that pouting, or I may have to do something about it now, won’t I ?” Rise smiled at his teasing and hugged him.
“Thank you so much, Senpai.” Because you’re the reason I keep moving forward. “I’ll make it up to you somehow.” He smiled and patted her head. “You don’t have to. I’ve got you right here, so that shouldn’t really be a big deal, right ?” She looked up at him, eyes wide with surprise, then smiled brightly. “Right !”

They didn't get too far. Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son, a man had to answer for the wicked he done. Take all the rope in Texas, find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys, hang them high in the street. For all the people to see... that Justice is the one thing you should always find, you got to saddle up your boys, you got to draw a hard line. When the gun smoke settles, we'll sing a victory tune, and we'll all meet back at the local saloon. We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces, singing 'Whiskey for my men, and beer for my horses'.
We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds. Too much corruption, too much crime in the streets. Mythic's First Omake
(PURELY a joke... if this becomes Canon I will find and hurt you Arena XD) Mikael walked hesitantly into the strange building, the large crowd that had gathered outside was bathed in the neon glow of it's lights accompanied by the strange music pouring from the entrance only unnerving him further as he finally made it to the main floor. It was a red velvet floor, and as he looked around he realized what 'the tele' was. It was an old style show club and had all the fixings of one to boot. There was a large stage overtaking the entire back wall with a walkout for the 'saucier' performers, the red velvet floors extending up to red velvet curtains over the stage and a red padded ceiling as well, and tables and chairs littered the floor in what appeared to be diamond patterns. As Mikael walked into the club, the strange feeling of being overwhelmed never leaving him, he started to inhale as his breath caught in his throat when he saw who he had come to meet. He turned around quickly, composing himself taking several deep breaths before nodding. He turned around once more, stepping down onto the main floor and walking along the edge of the stage, glancing up at the dancers who were at this moment doing the can-can, recognizing several familiar faces. Faust, Shikari, Souji, even Yosuke was on the stage, their long flowing dresses rising with each kick to reveal pleated bloomers beneath, and only a cage behind them holding what appeared to be a pink haired girl, brandishing a taser like a dagger...(it was probably a rabid animal show that was to come on after the 'girls'). It saddened him to see them reduced to this, but work was work after all, and this entire world was based on the whims of the maker. Mikael had finally crossed the stage, approaching and sitting down at a table, only one other inhabitant. His newly found sitting company held a martini glass in one hand, sipping at a thick looking hot pink substance. He let his gaze wander, trailing along his companies toned, alluring arm and landing finally on the face. The subtle, perfect features of Rednal's face. Mikael looked at him for a moment before sighing. "You wanted to speak with me?" He asked curiously, wondering what Rednal could of summoned him here for. Rednal merely looked over, nodding before taking another sip. "Mhm... since that day in the gym... the way you... the way you touched me I just can't think of anything else." He said, looking at Mikael pleadingly. He started to lean towards him, his eyes closed when another club goer noticed the two. Kazuma stared at the two intently. He was here on a mission, shocker had infiltrated the club and he was to look for anything out of the ordinary. And these two... they were out of the ordinary, he watched as Rednal slowly got closer and closer before deciding to make his move. In one solid movement he vaulted over the bar, landing on a table right behind Mikael and Rednal before pointing. "THIS CAN NO LONGER GO ON, I shall not allow this homoerotic fantasy to go on any longer!...KAM-EN" He started, pulling back his fist which quickly started to glow a bright orange. "PUNCH" He screamed, swinging his fist forward, as for a moment he seemed to be clothed in an F-Zero racing uniform (whatever that was) and a blazing pheonix erupted from his fist, smashing through the two and their table.
All at once, Rednal gasped, opening his eyes and leaning forward quickly, checking to make sure he was still in bed. "Oh man... that dream was going so well too..."Omake Contest Award Winners ~::Editor's Choice::~

Kiseki stood at the top of the torii watching as flames danced before her very eyes as she used the sleeve of her outfit to wipe the blood, of someone she had killed along the way, off her cheek.
Misha walked toward the Torii, she was asked to take care of the trouble here, she caught an almost unmistakable head of blue hair "...Kiseki-Chan...?" Misha said almost in disbelief.
Hearing her name being called, Kiseki turned her head and looked down to see Misha. "Hi~" She greeted the girl with a smile as she wiped the blood off her face. "Misha-chan. Have you been ordered to fight me?" She asked in a sickly sweet voice.
A look of shock and sadness fell upon Misha's face "I... I didn't want to believe it... I didn't want to think that you would do something like this..."
Kiseki's smile dropped from her face. "Why would I want to sit around and fight for good when you don't even know what you're fighting for?" She replied turning back to watching the fires she helped to start. "Don't you think you should care about your own life rather than someone else's?" She said wondering what the other girl would say.
Misha's expresion dropped even further "I'm... I'm fighting for the people I love... All of them... My brother, Teddie, Souji, Yukiko All of them." She bowed her head as she sniffled "And you were one of them! What made you want to do this?" Tears started to form in her eyes.
Kiseki turned around and sat down on the torii looking down at Misha. "I realised no one really cared about me other than for things. Hetero-sama and Kazuma-san, looked at me as a person not someone that held something for them to use me for. Teros-kun won't look at me anymore. Naomi-san doesn't seem to like me. Mamoru-san seems to see me as a person." She answered looking at the new blade to her naginata. "Aren't you the same? Using me for costumes? I really thought of you as my best friend."
Tears started to flow freely from Misha's eyes "I was your friend! I loved you Kiseki! You were the best friend I ever had, but now..." She hung her head again and started to shake "Please... I'm sorry..."
Kiseki knew she had to follow orders or Hetero-sama would become upset with her. "Misha-chan, we're on opposite sides. We are friends but right now we're enemies. I know it's hard but i've killed too many people. My hands are covered in their blood. I wish I didn't have to but I have to fight you." She stated as she took a deep breath.
Misha sobbed and sniffled and shook her head "I don't want to fight you either." She reached up and held a hand on one of her pigtails, she was wearing the hair clips Kiseki had given her the day they met "I... I don't care what you've done... I promise you will always be my frined!"
Kiseki jumped down from the torii and landed on her feet quite gracefully. "Misha. There is no way to prevent this. We have the sides we picked. You're on the good side and I'm on the bad." She reminded the girl as she pulled out her set of cat ears she made for her and Misha. "I never got my pair back from Teros. So I made another pair. You were always in my heart. I wanted to make the world see my power and show you that I deserved to be your friend."
Misha looked up at Kiseki and wiped the tears from her eyes "You are my friend Kiseki... And I promise, that I'll do whatever it takes to get you back! Even if the whole world turns on you, You'll still have me to run to." She pulled one of her daggers out from the back of her belt and pointed it at Kiseki "That Hetero... I swear to you Kiseki Kirihara, I'll cut out that bastards heart and slice it to ribbons!!" She took out her second dagger and stood ready. As much as she didn't want to fight her, She knew that is had to be done.
Kiseki took her naginata and held it in both of her hands. "Let's get this over with please." She suggested looking at the ground as she carefully slipped her cat ears back into her dress. She took a deep breath before looking back up at her one-time friend.
"I'll always love you Kiseki." Misha said before charging toward Kiseki, tears still filling her eyes.
