`Two Tone Charlie` They are useless ******** that sit around, bitching about everything, listen to shitty music, and seem to think that everything can be solved with ******** them, don't tell me to calm down you hippie ********, I'll ******** kill you. PLUR is a rave phrase that hippie-folk figured was a good mantra to stick by. It's still silly though, no matter what subculture coined it first.

Miss Organism Animal rights my a*****e. PETA is the biggest joke in the book. I'm all about animal rights and awareness, but PETA harms more than it helps. Not even sure if this was mentioned or not, I'm too lazy for an investigation. Peta is the biggest joke in the book? how so? or is this another empty argument? dramallama

Yeah, they do a good job of peddling propaganda. Wasn't it PETA that did the whole "your daddy is a murder" campaign trying to get people to stop fishing, or the whole sea-kitten thing. All of PETA's attempts at conservation are laughable at best. They need to get their head out their a** and actually start doing things for conservation like other organizations do.

Hippies are usually bashed because of their lack of any sort of intellectual rhetoric. They're just as controlled as the 'sheeple' they constantly yell at. Being as it was, and somewhat still is, a fad, just like many things. And people love to hate, so when people are told some authority or majority is doing something wrong they pretty much automatically believe it, and then begin to disregard all facts from the opposing side. Fear and hate mongers use these feelings to control people by instilling dogmatic pre-dispositions into people's thought processes. Now we're suddenly not allowed to cut the trees down in national forests, even though this is exactly what they were set aside for, so we wouldn't have to use private land. Besides this, cutting down old growth forest encourages biodiversity, it's how temperate forests work, they've been cultivated by the Indians since they were created, seeing as we were here before the end of the last ice age, and receding glaciers cause primary succession. I'm also firmly convince the 60s ruined America. Wow, way off track there. Also PETA is just another group of hate mongers. They use lies and slander to garner attention to something that, in reality, the higher ups don't even support. PETA is just a whiny teenage emo kid screaming at his parents for attention. Just look at the s**t they crank out. They spread videos from the 60s of chickens being dipped alive in boiling greese. While this did happen, it wasn't very often, and it was 40 years ago. These practices have been outlawed, and yet PETA subtly claims that these things still happen. They want your money. If PETA got what they 'wanted' humans would be totally barred from animal contact, and we would not be able to use them in any fashion. Goodbye insulin for diabetes patients! Goodbye medical research! Goodbye meat! PETA makes these claims but in reality, they're a scam. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/2/6/0/3/2/p260321_index.htmlhttp://www.newsweek.com/id/134549http://deceiver.com/2008/01/21/peta-kills-animals/

The irony is that PETA wants to stop hunting, but hunters are one of the biggest groups of conservationists in the world. Not to mention when in a couple of state up North they banned predator hunting, and ******** wolves and coyotes got so high in population everything else got destroyed from it.
I mean, take a look at Ted Nugent. An avid hunter and supporter of second amendment rights, and yet he donates thousands of dollars yearly to conservation practices, and has his own private hunting and shooting schools teaching safety and respect for animals.
The thing that pisses me off about hunters is the bad ones. I mean, a handful of irresponsible hunters throws this image onto everyone. I meet so many people that think hunting is equivalent to shooting things out of a ******** moving car.

actually PETA *is* a d**k organization. they're notorious for manipulating statistics so that they seem more severe than they really are, they promote euthanasia to an almost absurd degree (last year they euthanized 95% of the animals entrusted to them), and yeah their campaigns are basically propaganda. if they're not not lying to you they're shoving some adorable animal down your throat with poor justification for saving them so you give them money (which then goes to ad revenue)
i learned i can't even have a god damn conversation with then. back when i was hum-bumming it in austin for a while there was a PETA table that was up by the square every few days, usually about polar bears. EVERY god damn time the conversation went like this:
"want to learn how you can save the polar bears?" "no." "why not?" "well what's the point?" "because they're endangered." "so?" "well... we can't let that happen...?" "what would be so terrible if the polar bears went extinct?" "we just can't allow that to happen... humans are entrusted guardians for the well being of animals everywhere!*" "what would happen?" "the ecosystem would be destroyed." "how?" "Err...."
*or some other phrase that inferred we're babysitters to the animals.
only once did someone get that question right and say that polar bears maintained the seal population, however he apparently missed 7th grade earth science because he must not know that when a population booms it must eventually fall to a sustainable number based on the resources available to them. the only real negative aspect to the seal population booming is that it would ******** up the s**t of fishermen in the area, but LOL PETA IS STAUNCHLY OPPOSED TO FISHING LOL.
greenpeace is just as bad, fer realsies. go ask bjorn lomborg.

I'm gonna admit right now these are all really good points. You all actually changed my mind about PETA. Gratz' xD I still think they do good, but I have always thought they can go a bit overboard at times. We do need hunting and fishing. Among a lot of things they're stopping. We're animals too. xP

Dr Suicide93 PETA- people eating tasty animals smile ha. we were talking about that in my US History 146 class... it kinda started with John Dewey's philosophy that nature is the ulitmate reality. And that when we destroy nature, we destory reality.... of course it's a lot bull. But that still doesn't mean that we can take a giant s**t on planet Earth... we just have to get our heads out of are asses, and look at everything sanely.

in terms of hunters the only ones i think are disspicable are the game hunters on TV. the other day i was watching a show in which a group of hunters went out to Uzbekistan to hunt the Marco Polo sheep. A sub species of Argali sheep. Argali sheep are endangered... not just endangered less than 2000 are expected to exist.
apparently even national television game hunters dont care about endangered species.... so long as the local government is too poor to turn off TV hunters from paying them to shoot their animals.
