Go around the Charities/Quest forum and ask people if they want to join a charity guild. If they say yes, give them the link to the charity and post their name in this thread. If they post an application in the January sessions you get gold. If you get the most people to post an application at the end of the month you win. 3nodding

That was before I was crew. I stopped playing cuz I figured I shouldn't. Now I think I ought so since it may be the only way to keep the contest alive.

No, you have to invite them (by getting them to put in a join request). If I were to invite them you wouldn't be credited with them. 3nodding

Just link them to the guild. You can't force them, though. They have to make the choice. If you want, there are things you can copy and paste instead of describing the guild yourself. They're in the 3rd post under Part 1 and Part 2.
