I want to learn!
: )
Seems a very interesting language!
And you seem to be a great teacher of it!

Homework for lesson one:
La hundo estas pura.
Mi estas komencanto.
Viroj fumas.
[sorry for the simplicity (and possible misspellings)]

Leciono 3

Summary

This lesson will introduce adverbs, numbers, ordinal numbers, adverb numbers, colors, and new vocabulary.

Adverbs

Adjectives describe nouns. Adverbs describe verbs. This is true for the most part. Sometimes the also modify adjectives, and even other adverbs. However this is more complicated stuff you won't encounter for now. But remember, adverbs will never refer to nouns.

The easiest adverbs in Esperanto are those derived from other words. They end in "e". What makes Esperanto so easy to learn is that one word can be modified and mean many many things. Let's the word "sani" and see how many words we can make out of it.

Sani-To be healthy
Li Sanas-He is healthy.

Sano-Health
Li havas bonan sanon.- He has good health.

Sana-Healthy
Li estas sana.- He is healthy.

Sane-Healthily
Li vivas sane.- He lives healthily.

Numerals

du-2
tri-3

dudek-20
dudek unu-21

tridek-30

cent-100
cent unu-101
cent dudek unu-121

ducent-200
tricent-300
mil-1000
du mil ducent tridek kvar- 2,234

nulo-0
naŭcent naŭdek naŭ mil unu-999,001
unu miliono tricent dudek du 1,000,332

Ordinal Numbers

Ordinal numbers are made by adding the "a" ending to numerals.
Since they are now adjectives, they can recieve the j and n endings.

du=two -> dua=second
dek=ten -> deka=tenth
tridek kvar=34 -> tridek kvara(34a)= 34th

La unuaj knabinoj venas. The first girls are coming
Ili kaptis la kvara homo. They captured the fourth person.

Numerals -> Numeral Adverbs

unu=one -> unue=firstly
tri=three -> trie-thirdly

Li manĝos io kvare.=He will eat something fourthly. (Eating something will be the 4th thing he does)

Vocabulary-Colors
