Atsuma of the HonoredDead

PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 2:39 pm

Atsuma eyed his friend noting the lingering tension in his stance but didn't comment on that, instead he glanced back to the door. "I need some help with trigger techniques." He didn't mention that he had been snooping about to find the best techniques and teachers to learn them, but he wasn't gonna beat around the bush either.

"Ummm... I guess I could help out." Shinji started to head around the perimeter of the dojo and peered outside. He then went and locked the doors. "I'd rather not have anyone else learn these so..." He didn't bother finishing, Atsuma would know what he meant. He was a smart kid afterall.

"Alright, first thing to know, the Trigger techniques are a combined usage of ninjutsu and genjutsu. They work by sending a very specific message into the opponent's brain and then the brain releases chemicals which alter a person's state of mind... Get it?" Shinji was explaining the basics of the technique to Atsuma. "This means that when you use the technique, the illusion lasts for only a seccond and then takes time to wear off."

Shinij took a seat on the wooden floor and tapped the ground to offer him a seat. "I guess I'll start you off with the depression and anger triggers. You ready for the seal combination?"

Atsuma didn't move as Shinji went to lock the doors, but watched him giving only a vague nod to show he understood his friends desire to keep this underwraps. It was generous of him to even share what he knew with Atsuma.

As Shinji launched into the basic explanation Atsuma folded down into a casual seated position and tucked his blindfold up into the folds of one oversized sleeve. He had many genjutsu of his own that dealt with emotions such as fear and pain, but lately he had found the idea of adding physical attributes to them to be much more effective, such as forcing the brain to release to much of a certain type of chemical... It meant he wouldn't have to work so hard to maintain an illusion. The split second part was what he needed, and he had as of yet, been unable to perfect the trigger ninjutsu's alone.

"I know how it's 'supposed' to work..." He remarked when it seemed shinji expected a response but added a small shrug of his shoulders to show that knowing isn't the same as doing. Just because he understood the basic concept, didn't mean he could perform the skill.

Once they were both settled Atsuma gave another of his discrete nods to indicate he was ready, and shoved his sleeves back to clear his hands. That done, he focused the washed-out red of his eyes on Shinji. If he needed he could use 'mimic' to memorize the seals, and then practice them once the sequence was set in his head.

"Well then, all the better." Shinji lifted his arms in front of his own body and could tell what Atsuma wanted to do. "Alright, here goes." Shinji began to form the seals slowly for the depression technique. "Monkey, bird, tiger, serpent, goat, boar."

He shut his eyes at the end of the skill and let the technique fizzle on the backs of his own eyelids. "I'm not sure if you know, but the triggers only work throguh eye contact." Shinij opened his eyes and looked to Atsuma. "The last two seals designate the type of emotion that's effected. Anger would replace goat with rat, and boar with dragon, got it?"

Atsuma locked his attention on Shinji's eyes readying his mimic skill as shinji began and keeping eye contacy. He read the jounin's movements in his gaze rather then by watching his hands. His own hands would flow through the seals at almost the same time, like a reflection of the original. Monkey, bird, tiger, serpent, goat, boar... He shut his eyes in turn, copying Shinji in every way to be sure he didn't accidently use the technique on his friend.

Only when he felt the last of the energy fade did he look across at Shinji again. "Got it." He said, going over the imprinted seals in his head again. "Despair is goat and boar... anger is rat and dragon." He licked his lips, finding them slightly chapped and gnawed the bottom one absently. "What about pleasure? Happiness?"

A luke warm smile crossed his face. It was a small one, but it was there. "Pleasure would be Dog, then hare. Actual happiness, I haven't figured out, but it's a variant on pleasure." Shinji considered Atsuma for a moment, then asked, "Something you wanna talk about?"

He had noticed the whole lip thing, the face often had many tell tale signs of emotion, and the lips were one. They would tighten in anger, quiver in fear, or dry when one feels some sort of longing or emptiness. They weren't constant person to person, but that was a general thing he'd noticed.

Atsuma nodded thoughtfully his gaze having drifted to the floor only to snap up to shinji's face again. He features swiftly stilled to their usually flat mask and he set his lips in a smooth line. If the last last question had surprised him there was no sign of it now.

"Only the trigger techniques..." He glanced at the door still keeping the feeling of the technique firm him his head lest he forget it before he could perfect it. Gradually he stood, his eyes finding shinji again as Oracle shuffled about overhead. "Thanks for your help. I'll return the favor if you ever think of something I could assist with." In other words he had suddenly decided it was a good time to take a walk, but he didn't want to be rude.

Shinji let out a sigh and stood up, offering Atsuma a hand up. "That's a lie, but it's not really my buisness, right?" The young man gave a slight smirk and then said something else. "I'll need your help soon enough."

Atsuma regarded Shinji with a curious glance, choosing to acknowledge only the last of his words as he took his hand to stand. Shinji was pretty much the only person Atsuma talked to... and he was at least six years his senior. Sometime the age difference threw him off but most of the time he didn't think about it. Now with Shinji gaining the rank of Jounin, it seemed more obvious.
Strange how small things like titles could change perceptions so easily. Now Atsuma looked up at him and returned the smirk, his own expression paleing by comparison, like it just didn't want to form. "Soon enough?" He asked, finding it an odd thing to say.

"Remember the sword? I'll need your help when it's time to finish it." Shinji pulled Atsuma to his feet and headed to the dojo doors. He opened them and passed through, waiting for Atsuma to follow. He'd shut them behind as to keep leaves and such from blowing in.

A slight 'oh' expression touched Atsuma's face but that didn't mean he had any clue how he could help. He'd find out eventually. He followed shinji out and then gave a small wave. "Alright. See ya at home?"

A quick nod was all Atsuma needed, but he floowed up with "Yeah, seeya there." Shinji headed off in another direction, just wandering aimlessly, probably so he could think for a while.

Manndar Gorlok

PostPosted: Wed May 09, 2007 7:39 pm

Manndar was just recently promoted to Chunin, so he was eager to come here to train, but when he arrived he didn't bother to look around much..... Manndar just simply opened up a box that had a giant flounder in it.

Manndar concentrated chakra to his feet so the flounder would stick. He then did a handstand and let the fish go to balance on his feet. From the handstand position, Manndar began to do pushups while balancing the big fish.

"This is hard." Manndar thought to himself as the fish swerved but he corrected his balance. "This is going to be easy compared to what else I'm going to do to myself"

Hyro looked about the place becoming familiar with his new surroundings. He had only imagined what the new training grounds was to look like and it had yet to exseed his exspectations. Crossing his arms Hyro gazed upon those around him briefly then sat down and crossed his legs slowly. Giveing a small sigh Hyro knew that his responcibilities had been changed as he took in his new rank.

Taking his sword from his back slowly, Hyro placed it on his lap then shut his eyes. He began to breath in and outward slowly and began to calm his body. Soon enough all he could hear was the beat of his heart as he grew deaper into meditation.

Evellion

Eve walked into the dojo, folding her umbrella.
"Don't mind me--just lookin' for Kyo. His fights are usaully pretty interesting. Or they would be if he'd show up for 'em once in a while,"she muttered.
Evellion scanned the dojo,"Foo. Naja. Guess I'll check in at Ye Olde House of Mini Ninjas."
