"Thank you." Zenith said as Lady Selene healed him. Zenith then climbed to his feet, still a little off-balance, but much better. "As for defeating Jet, let what must be done be done, he betrayed us to the forces of darkness, so let him be consumed by the shadows he hails from!" Zenith stated with a strange fire in his voice, there was some serious intent behind these words for whatever reason...

"Well," Dan began speaking as he looked towards the ceiling, his face showing that he was truly straining to make this decision, the nine other voices screaming in his head telling him to do one thing or the other. "I must say that...since he betrayed us...it is only for the good of all in his reign that he should be dethroned, so that the power that consumed him cannot also consume the kingdom he rules."

'You are correct, Lady.' Achar responded to Lady Selene, 'And I shall do so forthwith.' At this moment, Achar would simply appear, also, as if he were in deep though in front of the stranger, then he snapped out of it.

"If you will pardon the repetition." Achar began, speaking to the stranger, "Why art thou truly here? What business dost thou have in the courts of the Lady?" He asked. The zone of truth spell would have taken full effect, and its powers would be quite unavoidable, the stranger would have to tell Achar the truth. If he avoided it, Achar had other ways of going about getting the information from the stranger.

Seth seemed to snap out of a daze once again and look at Achar with a smile.
"Sorry. I do believe I am quite scatterbrained at the moment. I am here to offer my assistance. I know things about Lord Jet, his bases, strategies, and things of the like that none other could possibly know. I was his close friend for some time, but I do not like or approve of what he is doing right now and I wish to see it stopped."
In no way was Seth lying, even if he was able to do so.

"Very well," Achar began, "You speak only the truth, as no deceit can stand in this place. Come." Achar walked over to the doorless wall and held out his hand. The stranger would have to come over and grab Achar's hand in order to enter the tower, as there was no other way in.

If the stranger simply accepted Achar's invitation, they would walk through the wall and be instantly transported into the room with the others and Lady Selene.

Seth walked over and, after looking at the man's hand for a split second, took the man's hand and waited.

Achar led Seth by the hand through the wall of the tower, suddenly, they were teleported into the throne room of Lady Selene with the rest of the group. Achar was not effected by the teleportation, but if Seth was not accustomed to such travel, he may be thrown off a bit.

Achar kneeled before Lady Selene in great reverence, "Here is the stranger, Mistress. No falsehood was on his lips, he truly has the desire to further our noble cause." He relayed to Lady Selene.

Achar took note of the people standing there, but none seemed too far out of the ordinary. He noted that there did, in fact, not seem to be an imp among them, and that worried him, but he did not show such worries.

User ImageLady Selene gave a nod to Shadan, Zenith, and the Martian who, for the moment, called himself "Dan".

"I had anticipated that you would need more convincing," she said with a smile. "But I see that Jet has wronged you greatly, just as he has wronged all of Saraga."

Lady Selene paused as Achar entered with Seth. She looked sternly upon him.

I did not give the order to allow this man to enter, Achar, she said in his mind. Any wrongs he may commit will be on your conscience. He will be your responsibility.

Lady Selene's face softened as she looked upon Seth.

"It is always a pleasure to meet an ally," she said. "But you've spent time in Hades's realm, haven't you? Why would Jet have revived you, if you would simply betray him?"

((Referring to when Seth died during the battle with Hades. Lady Selene, like a paladin, can sense those who have been resurrected.))

'My deepest apologies, Mistress' Achar responded through the telepathic link, ''twas a momentary lapse in my judgment, though I know that makes it no more forgivable.' He stated with obvious regret, even as he spoke, not with his voice, but his mind. 'I assure you, he will be under my watch, and I take full responsibility for his actions while within the tower.'

He knew of the seals in place that should keep the stranger from causing any harm on the grounds of the tower, but he knew also that damage could be caused in other ways than physical harm, so he was on his guard. Achar's mind was buzzing with spells, ready to be cast with but an utterance from his lip and a wave of his hand, should the stranger take any harmful actions.

Achar was visibly and heavily embarrassed by his complete lack of thought on this action. He let out a sigh as he stood, stepping back so that he could see both Lady Selene and the group that she was speaking with.

Seth stumbled from the teleportation but covered it up by kneeling in front of Lady Selene, his head bowed for only a second.
"Well, my Lady, you see..The explanation is quite simple. Lord Jet set those seals when he had both the power of Black Flame and Hades coursing through him. Now he has only the full power of Hades. Without his presence in the Underworld the seals are already weakened but now without the Black Flame to make up for the weakening, the strongest of us in the Underworld, or most intelligent, can push our way through the barrier when he resurrects someone we know, well...urr...knew that is. When Lord Jet resurrected his late ex-wife Kioko, I was already trying to push my way out. When the barrier weakened even further to let her out, I was able to break through. He knows I'm out, I'm sure of it. He just doesn't really care and believes that I will cause him no problem. He doesn't control me, and he cannot control me since I pushed my way out myself. I can understand some mistrust concerning me. I haven't exactly been the 'White Knight' in the past, as I'm sure you know or have heard of. Really, helping you, Lady Selene, and Lord Jet's previous friends is the best shot I have of remaining here. When Lord Jet dies, whomsoever kills him will take the power of Hades. Therefore, it will most likely be one of you. If I help you, you may let me remain here, in the living plane. Dethroning Lord Jet will not keep him from attacking or causing trouble. He has to be either killed or purged of his ethereal powers. However, if the power of Hades is just simply removed from Lord Jet, then the Underworld will crumble, causing a chain reaction. Spirits will be forced to roam the living plane for all of eternity and there will never be peace."
Seth stopped talking for a moment.
"Why am I saying all of this? I'm sure everyone here knows this."
Seth smiled and scratched the back of his head. Right now Seth resembled more of a playful child than any kind of resurrected warrior.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone here wants to kill that traitor. Anyways here's how one saying goes 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' just don't betray us or I'll make sure you stay dead permanately" said Shadan

User ImageLady Selene nodded, looking grave. Seth spoke the truth; the Underworld was deteriorating slowly now that it was in the hands of Jet. And that wasn't all that troubled her...the way he flaunted the power of the gods was distressing. A true god would never be so wanton.

"You speak the truth," she said to Seth. "The powers of the Underworld were not meant to be in the hands of a tyrant, and if Jet continues to use them so carelessly we shall all be plunged into darkness...Very well, I accept your assistance, but know that, because you were not resurrected, the Underworld still has a hold on you. Should you prove untrustworthy, I can return you to that place and ensure that you will not escape again."

Lady Selene turned and walked back to her throne, taking a seat. She appeared concerned now, her face no longer gentle and smiling.

"I am happy to have so many allies in this cause," she said, after a pause, "though it saddens me to think of those who should be here but are not. Jet has the power of two gods at his disposal, along with the dwindling armies of Saraga. Any of his forces that are killed he can simply return to life, though it is a shadowlife, restless and miserable.
"Together, alone and unaided, you are not strong enough to dethrone Jet. But I will remedy that. This, my Tower, acts as a conduit, and I control who has access to its energies. In becoming attuned to the Tower, you will find that you are stronger, your energy unlimited. You will not tire, you will be more difficult to wound, and you will heal faster. However, should I die, the Tower will fall dormant, its energies released and spent.
"Jet must be stopped. He hungers for power, and he will not stop at the two gods he has already destroyed. He will move to other worlds, and he will plunge the universe into chaos and despair. If he is allowed to continue his reign, he may soon become unstoppable.
"So, my friends and allies, will you unite with me in this cause? Will you attune yourselves to the Tower, and extend the limits of your powers? Will you stand with me, and dethrone the monster who calls himself Ruler?"

"I'll fight alongside you guys but I should warn you I don't believe in magic so I won't believe you if you call this magic." shrugged Shadan "And might I suggest a tactic employed by my family's faction after the end of a civil war among my people to keep loyalty after we defeat jet. It will probably seem harsh to most of you though"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:42 pm

User ImageLady Selene chuckled.

"I never said that it was magic, and I do not ask that you think of it as such," she said. "Think of it like electricity. Right now, all of you run on batteries. You tire, and you need to be recharged. Now, think of the Tower as a power outlet. When you are 'plugged' into it, you will be constantly recharging, constantly replenishing all of the energy you have lost. You will not need to stop to recharge, and you will not need to slow your pace or hold back in order to conserve energy for later. Your reserves will become limitless."

"And it is a bit too soon to speak of tactics after our victory," Lady Selene added. "Let us discuss those only if and when this battle is won."

Achar nodded as Lady Selene spoke of Jet taking the power of a god, "Mortals should never possess the power of the gods, it was given unto them for a reason. The one with the greatest power is the one who will never use it, yet any mortal being abuses its powers, so they cannot be trusted with such might." He stated.

Achar then shot an odd look at Shadan, "Are you, therefore, suggesting that I am impossible, that my presence here, and, verily, my living, is but an illusion?" He chuckled, "Nay, truly, believe as you desire, but I could not stand before you now were it not for the great powers of the Arcane."

"Ah," Zenith said, nodding, "So that is why their auras did not fluctuate, they were not losing any power at any time." He was baffled at how this actually worked, it was completely amazing, a marvel of whatever its creation was, be it science or magic.

"Well," Zenith said, with a smile being restored onto his face, "I can't really see any reason to refuse your offer, good Lady, especially if it will assist in the defeat of that traitor, Jet." Zenith nodded his head, "I will attune myself to the tower...however that is done..." He added, hesitantly.

Voices were screaming in Dan's head as soon as Lady Selene began talking about unlimited power, so he first said, audibly, for whatever reason, "Be quite, Damien, I get it!" No one said anything against the idea, so he saw no reason to reject it.

"Of course, Lady Selene." Dan began, with a smile on his face, as if he had not just shouted at a voice in his head, "With great gratitude, I will accept your kind offer for such great power as you claim." He then chuckled, "Be it magic or not."
