Rade watched Azreal leave with Strifer and nodded, those two could take care of themselves. Meanwhile however, there was the matter of what Rade would be assigned to do. "and what plans do you have for me?" Rade said speaking up, "Guarding the HQ perhaps?" his impatience was obvious and the annoyance seeped from his tounge like saliva.

Gear thought for a moment. "Go with the others to Beyon. We'll need all the extra forces we can muster for that mission. Move."

Any futher stragglers could contact Gear via comm link to get their assignments. Gear dashed out the door and back to his office where he met with the other two members of his team. "Get to the jet bay. We're taking the SERVER1 jet. Now get down there yesterday!"

"Yes Sir!" Wielder said. "Here, hop through this. It'll take us right to the hangar with SERVER1," He told Xeg and Gear as he opened a portal to the hangar. The three ran through the portal and kept running towards the black Stealth Jet known as SERVER1. Wielder hit a button on a control panel nearby, opening up the entrance in the back. As the team boarded the craft, Wielder hit another button on a control panel inside the plane to close the hatch.

SERVER1 was one of the three SRVR Jets, created by the Mercenary League's R&D Team. The Stealth Reconnaissance Engagement Vicious Enemy Ripper was a recent invention, still in production when Gear had sounded the Omega-level alarm, and was successful in all its goals on its very first test. It had a number of weapons available for use, each concealed within the craft, as well as an advanced form of energy shielding protecting the craft. The most advanced weapon on it was another recent R&D Production, the Rapid-Fire Railgun, or RFR. Capable of firing at 110 Rounds per minute, it had the ability to punch through almost a half-mile of concrete, leaving only a hole of its size behind it. It's hull was made of special Radar Absorbing Materials, or RAM, and was made to be as sleek and smooth as possible. Only available for Beta-Ranked missions and above, it was virtually undetectable by radar, giving off only the radar signature of a bug from a distance of about 2 miles. Production took one and a half months to produce a single one of these craft, and they cost a very shiny penny.

As the hatch closed on SERVER1, Wielder took his spot as Copilot. Gear went through and configured the ship for the mission at hand, while Xeg sat down in the weaponry control seat, better known as the Gunner's Pit. As Wielder began to engage the engines and power the plane up, he explained the controls of the Gunner's Pit to Xeg. As a Gunnery Sergeant, he hadn't been allowed to handle the controls of the Gunner's Pit before. Wielder finished explaining everything, and began taxiing, and told Xeg, "As a Gunnery Sergeant, you're not allowed to handle the controls in combat. Therefore, you are hereby promoted to Sergeant, First class, granting you the authority to handle the weapons of this aircraft. Now, you two, strap yourselves in, I'm taking us up." Gear sat down in the Pilot seat and he and Xeg strapped in. Wielder took hold of the controls as he reached the runway. The Runway was still in the hangar, but was raised above the flight deck, so that launches wouldn't disrupt other activities. The all-too-familiar feeling of G-Forces pushing on the body got stronger and stronger as the stealth craft went faster and faster, silent engines metaphorically screaming down the runway. He pulled up on the controls, and they were airborne.

"Alright, Gear, where are we heading?" Wielder said, once they had ceased their ascent, heading north. He saw a glint out of the corner of his eye, to see another jet taking off, speeding towards the capital. "The Scopes are picking up a number of high-energy 'spouts,' which may need further investigating. The highest of these is in the center of the continent, and each of them seems to be spouting the creatures, according to the radar here. So, what do you think?"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 01, 2009 5:11 pm

((Thanks for pushing us forward, Wielder. I'm hitting a temporary writers' block.))

"No, not the center," Gear said, pointing towards the energy readings on the map. "For starters, while that's the largest outpouring of energy, it is more stabilized than the others. Furthermore, there's no way the three of us, even if it is the three of us, could handle that right now. We'll need the whole league for that, so we'll save it for later." Gear plugged in some coordinates. "I'm opening a wormhole into Niead's capitol city. Our goal is to investigate the disappearance of their king. That could be our way into the Fade. That's why I need mages with me for this. It's a little outside my scope." The wormhole was opening as Gear explained. "I'm sure you know this, but the Fade is impossible to enter without extremely powerful magic, unless you can take advantage of a weak spot between the dimensions. I think that with the King's disappearance, there may be a weak spot there." The wormhole had opened, and with a jerk of the thrusters, the jet blindingly flew in at top speed. The portal closed almost immediately behind them, and Gear sat back a bit. "We'll be in Niead in about three minutes," he said. Unbuckling, he headed towards the back of the jet. Everyone, follow me quickly. We need to get outfitted."

Strifer Farhaven

PostPosted: Tue Dec 01, 2009 7:39 pm

Strifer grabbed his bag as quickly as he could, and blinked as he appeared next to the guy who had ran off, and realized that he had to run too, he broke into a sprint to catch up. As the turned the corner and entered the hanger he listened to them talking. He looked between the two, "I would have to agree with him on this one, keeping her under constant guard would be logical, if anything we should keep at least two of near her at one time." He commented as he followed Alex up the stairs still holding his bag.

He sat down in the chair behind the pilots seat and opened up his bag. He pulled out a katana and strapped it to his waist so that it was easily accessible with his right hand, and strapped a long sword around his chest so that the blade ended up on his back in a fashion that he could access it with his left hand. He searched his pocket to make sure that all the knives were still in their place and sat down. "As for me I'm whatever the lowest possible rank is. I just showed up at the rumors of the king missing in Niead. Anyways, just to get a formal introduction, I'm Strifer, who are you guys?"

"Names Azreal....Be back in a blink, we just got a commander." Azreal said she heard the conversation over the link and she vanished and reappeared next to Rade. "Hello sir, I heard your our commander." She said smiling. Holding out her hand. Rade knew her well enough to under stand that she was going to shadow transprot them on to the ship. Her eyes showed that she was getting tired and that she was definetly going to sleep on the ride there.

(((Agh... too many plot-line advancing posts... information overload... Just gimme a sec for the brain swelling to go down.)))

Xeg grinned. A promotion, and the right to use big aircraft guns to shoot stuff. He listened to their conversation about the anomalies, trying to think. If the king of Niead was indeed ripped through a hole into the Fade, as it was called, then there might just be a rift left behind that he could re-open. He would need some help from Gear and Wielder of course...

He followed them into the back in order to get suited up after they entered the wormhole.

(((Gah... You two obviously have much of a clue what's happening. I don't, and am just a little lost...)))

((Oi, I keep missing out on things ><))

"Crap!" Kaneharo rushed ahead to keep up with Rade, Azreal and Strifer. "I really need a way to be everywhere at once... too bad that's impossible." He laughs at the thought of it.

Alex looked at Strifer, running his eyes over the gleaming, well-maintained blade of the katana, and smiled.

"I'm Alex Gekkou, and as I said, Private First Class. Your superior by one rank, yet I doubt I'm your superior when it comes to using that blade."

Alex noticed Azrael disappear again after muttering about a commander, leaving Alex to exhale in a relieved way. To be honest, he was nervous about this assignment. He wasn't sure if normal weaponry could slay the foes they were likely to face, then his gaze flicked up to the stock of the plasma rifle that rose above his left shoulder.

Let's see how well they handle super-heated plasma at the speed of sound. He thought with a feral grin.

Strifer smiled at the comment. "This katana has been my friend though the best of times and the worst of times. But I'm fairly skilled on other sorts of weaponry, but none of them speak to me as well as blades do." He explained. Strifer dug into his jacket and pulled out the brown unmarked bottle and drank from it until it was gone. He opened up his bag to a pocket separate from where he held his weapons revealing six more brown bottles that appeared to be full. He up the empty one in and took two out to hide inside his jacket.

Rade took out a small needle and injected it into his bloodstream, then grabbed Azreal's hand and hefted her over his shoulder, he took off running amazingly fast, arriving in the hangar quickly and set Azreal down and got into the driver's seat of the plane. "All who are coming, get in here now!" Rade said with a roar as he turned on the ship and reved the engine a few times, as soon as everyone was in Rade floored it and took the ship into the air and when he got high enough Rade flipped on the Auto-pilot and let the machine do the rest of the work.

Azreal let out a small squeek when the senior officer tossed her over his sholder. She was used to either walking or shadow moving, not being carried like potatos, it was slightly unnerving. Not like she was going to complaine after all the trip was shorter than almost any thing. When he placed her down she took a few seconds to regain her balance and reorient her self. "Baka." She muttered as she jumped on to the Jet. Rade started the engin and flipped the switch. She sunk in to the chair, not exactly like hights, well not likeing lack of ground weould be a better term for it. After all she could stand on the edge of a cliff, or jump off o a huge water fall, but there was always ground under her feat, and not ground made out of metel. She sighed and looked at the squad. This was going to be interesting. "Sir, I think two should keep watch on the queen, One should patrol the roof tops and the last the crowd. We also need to have a plan of crowd control and a way to transport the queen safely if there is an attack." She said as she listed the things that she recalled from verious disscusions about situations like this. "WE also would need, if at all possible some one to stay as look out a little outside the area,to guard against the creatures if they choose to show up." She said all of this in a relaxed tone she was sitting rather slumped in the chair and her eyes looked tired. Lack of sleep does that to you, so does using her power that many times in one day.
