"Huh...weird..." Tiana tapped at the dirt with her pick, frowning when it was indeed rather hard. "I guess it's gonna be a bit more difficult to work then."

I'd normally suggest some more powerful tools, though if there is something here, we run the risk of damaging it. We may want to try another spot for the time being, though it may benefit us to get some samples back to the facility to run an analysis on this.

She stopped before she ended up breaking the other pick as well, standing and frowning at the ground before kicking at it gently. "Yeah, let's not break another pick on this...Move to another area and come back for samples before we leave?" she suggested with a small shrug.

*MK bent over and scooped some small rocks that were loose from the mass into a little satchel, and placed everything carefully in the bag now over his back*
Let's head back to Gaia for now. I'm going to get a better look at this, and we can go from there.

Tiana frowned a bit; she was really looking forward to this, but at least she knew they'd be coming back later. Letting out a small sigh, she glanced over at MK and managed a smile, glancing around before heading towards the portal. "So do you have any idea as to what it might be?" she asked, tilting her head and looking back at the barely chipped ground.

Honestly? ... I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it.
*MK had a look on his face that could only be described as a mix between astounded and confusion as he walked over to and through the portal back to Gaia*

Glancing one last time at the strangely colored sky, she turned and followed MK into the portal and back to the facility.

*MK appeared through the portal in a small gem truck, carrying along tools for mineral mining. He drove down into the near crater, parking off to the side and unloading the bag*

 'You know, it's weird seeing you drive like a normal person,' Asphyxia announced, once she made her way through the portal. She looked around the dig site curiously.

Well, not many other ways to gather these things...
*He took out a pickaxe and stood there a moment, not seeming to care about the morbidly strange sky or atmosphere*
Go for the white crystals. It's mostly quartz.

 Goosie ran out, slowing to a stop as she looked around at the strange place. She'd never seen anything quite like it before, and that read all over her face. Looking at MK when he spoke up, she made her way over to procure a pickax of her own, lifting one up with a bit of struggle and then giving Phyx a sheepish smile as she attempted to pass off the heaviness of the tool.
