As she finished preparing dinner, Meimei started to place the food on the table at each setting and stood by the doorway to the kitchen once all the food was at the table. As she watched the table, she noticed that the food at the one open seat started to disappear right before her eyes as if someone was there.

 Raidou did not appear to find anything strange at all as the food at the third spot began to vanish. Of course, she was the one who could see Alice sitting there, eating surprisingly politely for a girl who seemed to be European. "Hmm... about two stars." the Kuzunoha said, gesturing with her chopsticks. "You'll get better as you practice, though. Everybody has to start somewhere, after all. Right?" the last question was clearly asked to the 'empty' seat, not to Meimei. "She agrees." Raidou noted cheerfully a moment later, once Alice had responded. It was easy to think that Raidou was simply pretending that somebody was there... or it would have been easy, were it not for the vanishing food. Perhaps some of the rumors about the house were true after all...

Meimei nodded her head as Raidou gave her some feedback on the meal. "I'll work harder on tomorrow's meal Raidou-sama." She replied with a bow of her head still watching the empty seat.

Raidou followed the path of Meimei's eyes to where Alice was sitting. "Don't worry, you're not going crazy." Raidou said calmly, inbetween bites of the meal. "And neither am I. Sit down and eat already; friends, servants, and even pets get to eat with the Mistress in my household. I suppose I'll have to find you a glain neidyr soon..." she scratched her head. "Alice, do you know if we have any of those in the storeroom?"

Meimei walked to the table and took a seat at the last plate of food. "If i may Raidou-sama. May i ask if a spirit is seating with us?" She asked not wanting to upset Raidou.

"I guess you could call her that." Raidou answered cheerfully. "Alice is a good friend of mine, and she's been alongside the Kuzunoha for several generations now. But don't get too worried about it; I wouldn't go so far as to say any of the spirits in this house are tame or safe, but they know that you're serving me, and so the worst that will happen is a few pranks. In fact, they'll even protect you if anything honestly bad comes this way. You're quite lucky that way; just wait until I introduce you to Fluffy." It would be very awkward to live in Raidou's house without the ability to see everyone else there, after all.

Meimei nodded her head again as she removed a small crystal from her pocket and placed it on the table next to her plate as she started to eat. "Is Fluffy a pet or a person? If you don't mind me asking." She said softly watching the crystal.

"Fluffy is Fluffy." Raidou answered blankly. She didn't appear to place much weight on his actual identity, just... his defining attribute, as far as she cared to list it. Or perhaps she was just doing that to keep it a surprise; there seemed to be many such things in the Kuzunoha estate, and it would take some time for a person newly arrived to get used to it all, especially if they couldn't even interact with half of it. She set her utensils down a moment later, finished with her meal and waiting for Meimei to finish as well. She did need to give the girl a tour, after all, and despite working in the household, there were several rooms best left undisturbed.

Meimei silently took the answer Raidou gave her and moved her gaze from her crystal to her plate as she continued to eat. Seeing her mistress place her utensils down, she picked up her pace and finished her meal in no time at all. "Shall i clear the dishes now?" She asked standing up to collect the dishes.

"Stop asking about everything you should do." Raidou answered calmly. The door was nudged open a moment later, and a wolf best desribed as 'enormous' walked into the room. Not that the girl would be able to see it yet, but it was easily taller than Raidou, even when she was standing and the wolf was lying down. "Hi, Fluffy!" the girl said happily. The wolf merely nodded, then set a rock down on the table. Raidou calmly picked up her knife and etched a mark on it before tossing it towards Meimei. "Look through that and you'll be able to see spirits. I can't go around handing out things like that, though, so it'll only work in the house." the girl explained calmly. "And just carrying it will let you hear them." The only two spirits currently in the room were Alice, the european girl-spirit, and the enormous, snow-hued wolf.

There was a harsh cawing sound, and Raidou looked up to the rafters, where a bird was perched. With two legs, it gripped a bar, but with a third leg, it was holding a rolled-up sheet of paper. The bird cawed again, then flew down to the table and set the paper down before tilting its head, blinking at the Kuzunoha, and flying off. Raidou calmly unfurled the paper. The Eyes of the Yatagarasu have witnessed unusual and problematic events in the town of Inaba, and the Yatagarasu agrees that this is likely related to your current mission. Investigate Inaba immediately as our senior agent in the region. Be prepared to use force if necessary. Much is expected of you, Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX.The paper caught fire and turned to ashes with no visible flame being set to it; Raidou dropped it before the flames reached her fingers, and it finished burning as it fell. The girl calmly stood up. "I've been called for a mission. This will happen sometimes." she told Meimei as she strode over to a ak. "Alice, Fenrir." the two spirits, understanding that this was not the time for chatter, vanished into a pair of tubes that the girl held out. Moments later, the items were slid into their appropriate spots for easy withdrawal. Her gun and sword were set into their respective places a moment later, followed by the girl wrapping her cloak around her body. "The incident is quite some ways away. I was intending to just show you around tonight, but it seems I won't be able to. Don't try to go into any room thats locked, and you'll be safe. I should be back tomorrow." she calmly strode towards the main door, and had Meimei bothered to look through the rock Raidou had given her, instead of Raidou vanishing into mid-air, she would have seen the girl surrounded by an enormous golden dragon, an oriental snake-like one rather than the monsters of western lore, that allowed her to climb atop it before shooting out of sight at speeds best compared to a bullet train.

A momentary flash heralded the return of Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX as she strode back into her home on the Port Island, stretching widely. It had been a long day-and-a-half or so, and she was looking forward to being back in her own bed again, which as far as she was concerned was the proper spot to be. Fortunately for her new servant, she'd already eaten, but... "Meimei, I'm home!" the Kuzunoha called. "You didn't get eaten, right?"

Meimei had set herself to start cleaning the kitchen and dining room as her mistress out of the house currently. She worked dusting and wiping everything until it was shining.
Hearing her mistress' voice, she walked towards the entrance. "Welcome home, Mistress. I have not eaten yet. I did clean the kitchen and dining room." She answered with a bow only to see her mistress was gone again.

It was perhaps a day later that the golden dragon came in again, landing outside the house. "Meimei! Pack! You're coming to Inaba!" the girl declared. "We may be there for a little while, but lucky you, you get to take care of me at a Hot Springs first." Which would probably make things a little better for the girl, all things considered.

Hearing her Mistress yelling for her, Meimei quickly packed her bags and ran to the entrance way. "Hello Mistress. I hope i packed what you desired I pack. I will be joining you in Inaba?" She replied with a bow.
