Athena nodded. "Okay." she said. She walked over to the tree and sat down next to it. She picked up a nearby rock and started sharpening her tail.

Wind took off his pack and laid it on the ground before sitting next to her. Then he reached inside and pulled out an apple. "Here," he said handing the pack to her. "Take what you want. Sorry that it isn't room service."
Seeing that they had walked off the path Starla followed them and then settled herself next to Wind. Ruffling her feathers again she quacked at him
"Here." he said as he pulled out a slice of bread and handed it to her.

Athena smiled. "An apple is just fine." she said. "Just because I can afford everything doesn't mean I own everything." She held her smile in place and kissed his cheek before biting into her apple.

He chewed and looked up into the tree branches in silence for a bit before looking at her. "You know what, Athena?" he asked.
Starla looked up from her bread and ruffled her feathers. What she had felt earlier, it was coming. She could sense it.

Athena looked over at him and put her apple down in her lap. "What?" she asked playfully in response to his question.

He leaned closer and kissed her. "I love you." he said.
Starla glared at the two and ruffled her feathers.

Athena felt practically like crying in joy, but instead played it cool and kissed him back. "I love you too, Wind." she said softly and smiled warmly at him.

He took another bite of his apple. "You're taking this rather coolly. I just uped my status of you from sex buddy to lover." he said as he looked at her.

Athena laughed. "True. I feel like jumping for joy, but I figured I would play it cool." she said and wrapped her tail around him. "I appreciate it. Thank you for telling me."

Athena smiled at him and picked her apple back up. She finished it and threw the core over her shoulder.

Wind leaned against the tree and sighed. "How about we stay here for today?" he said as he closed his eyes
Starla looked up at him and quacked softly. She didn't want to go anywhere.

Wind reached into his pack and pulled out a blanket. "Here, use the pack as a pillow and cover yourself with this." he said as he handed them to her.
