Are you sure it wasn't Case of Lifestream's "White" in OTWTAS?
I would like to think of Aerith and Zack as an OTP, and I just...
I just don't like Cloud with Aerith, but I don't like him with Tifa or Yuffie, either... I can see him with Tifa, but it just doesn't seem right to me.
I just think that Aerith was to Cloud what Angeal was to Zack.
Basis for this: When Zack died, Angeal reached for him. When Cloud went through Bahamut's Mega Flare attack, Aeris reached for him in the same way.
And, er... Yeah. sweatdrop

Maybe it's about time I invite my senpai in this guild... but I don't know just how much she's active on Gaia anymore.. Why?
She LOVES Aerith a LOT and she also loves Cloud... so she pairs those two together and for some reasons... hates Tifa with a passion. o___o
but... yeah... Even if you tell me to bring her here... -sweat drop- I don't know if she'd be active in here.
Sorry if you consider this spam... You people are going on and on and on and on... about who Aerith or Cloud is best with... It's just kinda funny and somewhat reminds me of what my senpai would say.. sweatdrop

But Aerith x Zack is well. . . .
It was just kinda a relationship in Crisis Core, and nothing more after Zack died
I just don't like. . Cloud x Aerith. . .or Cloud x Yuffie for that matter *cough* Support Yuffentine *cough* But back to my point
See when Aerith first met Cloud she thought it was just Zack and that he had dyed his hair blond, and because Cloud had the Buster Sword (( Play FF7 Crisis Core to learn about all that ))
I don't remember where, but there is a FF7 novel, not On The Way To A Smile, but another one where Aerith tells Zack. . . .

Aerith tells Zack in the Lifestream that she loves Cloud more than she loved him. . so no afterlife hook up :/ But who released this book? Was it a fan made novel or was it a legitimate continuation? It's not fan-made at all. It's 100% legitimate :3 Huh... Well if you remeber what it's called please tell me i wouldn't mind taking a peek at that. ^-^

To be honest, I'm actually a yaoi fan, and I detest CloudxAerith *shudder*. I rather read about HojoxLucrecia. If there is one thing I CANNOT handle is Aerith paired up with anyone but Zack. And only if it is a side couple. I feel that Cloud should always be paired with Tifa as a canon.

I ship Aerith x Zack.
They were a canon couple, Cloud resembles Zack a lot (we now why, after all) and Aerith "meet" Zack in Lifestream, what we can see at the end of AC/ ACC

when you think about it Aeris used Cloud...she only went with him because he looked like Zack.
yeah, she may be my favorite character, but when you put all of how she acts around Cloud together she's a horrid woman... but with how her life was to begin with it's a little understandable.

Y'know, I've never actually shared my opinion on the Love Triangle Debate until now...Whatever.
THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS...READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I seriously think Square set it up to make us bicker and b***h at each other for fifteen years.They seem to enjoy watching their fans writhe in pain.
But I digress...
The theme of the game was the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Aerith/Aeris was a plot point to support that theme. In the beginning, they set the plot up as Cloud x Aerith to heighten the sorrow of loss.
That far in the game; Yes. I did think Cloud x Aerith was canon.
But there are still two discs left, along with Crisis Core. As the plot continued, you learn about Zack's role in the events leading up to Final Fantasy VII. You witness Tifa's (who, due to Aerith's untimely death became the Female Lead) devotion to Cloud as a whole. It wasn't just a childhood crush sustained for too long. Tifa loved Cloud, and proved that she always had. After Cloud recovered from the mako poisoning, he began to show affections for Tifa, which in the end climaxed in the 'Night Under the Highwind' scene just before the final battle. Translations from the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Ultimania prove that Cloud harbored affections for Tifa.
By the end of Final fantasy VII, shared traumas and joys resulted in a relationship between Tifa and Cloud. Thus, Final Fantasy VII concluded with Cloud x Tifa as canon.
This can also be sustained in Crisis Core, as a major plot arc was about Aerith and Zack's adolescent relationship. Hell, the boy made not one...but THREE flower wagons for her. And in the end of Crisis Core, Aerith's DMW memory reel was the very last to be destroyed during the fight that would kill him. She...above all other loved ones he knew...was his most cherished. He only let go of her when he physically could not hold on any longer. If that isn't screaming AerithxZack canon at you, I don't know what else to say to convince you.

But crack pairings are ALWAYS avaiable. Who is stopping us from shipping other pairings? xD

Actually, to me Aeris came off as a real tease in the original FFVII game. She just seemed to push Cloud around, sometimes leading him on and flirting, then the next time just treating him like a friend. I do agree that I think she believed he resembed Zack, and that was why she treated him the way she did. I did not, however, like the way Zack's and Aeris's relation was portrayed in Crisis Core. It seemed so.... shallow, the moments they met. Sure, the letters and phone calls spoken of towards the end was sweet, but every time they met I just.... couldn't feel that certain chemistry. Then again, I am not a fan of the new FFVII games that have been released (Dirge of Cerberus in particular) so I am not completely indifferent.

Zack and Aerith's relationship wasn't the only thing shallow in Crisis Core. To be brutally honest, it seemed like Crisis Core was slammed out much too fast. There was obvious places to enhance the story, and it was just never done. D: I didn't care for the way Zack and Aerith's relationship was portrayed, but you could tell that by the end, at least SOMETHING was going on between them. The writers just didn't put it in the script.
Aerith WAS a total tease. <3
I also have to agree that the installments past Advent Children were pale in comparison to the original game. : Dirge of Cerberus had good music and a good enough story to work with...But it was poorly executed. Crisis Core was too, for that matter.
BUT ANYWAY, back on the subject. >w<
My bottom line is this: Cloud inevitably (much to the dismay of thousands of rabid Clerith shippers) ends up with Tifa. The only clear and logical way to seal the former leading lady's story was to reunite her with her long dead lover in the Lifestream. :]
