Alright, updated the hotel part and my funds. $60 in the pot! Woohoo! Unfortunately the overall total has gone up once we incorporate July Rent.

As some/most people know, Shampoo is planning a BIG move to South America sometime next year. Hopefully, I'll delay it a bit to make it to some kind of Stair People gathering, because I love you all OH SO much and want to say goodbye before I leave forever. I'm working on it.
I've already discussed with Scully that we want to plan some kind of Pre-Comic-Con Stair People Reunion, but I'm more than aware of how that would put an extra strain on funds in general, not to mention the vacation-time. I know it's unlikely, but I would love to do something aside from Comic-Con, similar to our Texas Trip of '08. xD Just meeting up and doing random s**t together, rather than attending a gathering focused on a convention (where most of us would break off to do our own activities).
This SP Reunion would most likely take place in LA, since Hoku/Adam/Matt/Tiffy are in the States, and coming to Hawaii is pretty much out of the question. If it's possible, I'd help Scully with her plane ticket and pay my own way. I also spoke with Hoku, and she suggested that we rent out a suite or some kind of room that would house the lot of us for a week or so.
I WOULD LOVE THIS, especially before I plan to move. I also would most likely use this time to get my SP tattoo.

Excellent! Yes! I want to do this so bad!
First thing is first though; do we want to try and do this pre-Convention or post-Convention? Second; where is the cheapest place to stay humanly possible? We don't have to get a fancy hotel room, the smaller we get the more cramped we'll be but the less we pay and more fun we'll have I'm sure. A best Western near the LA Airport would be efficient enough in my mind. Secretly I want us to go to Disneyland together but that is pushing it - butomg that would be so much friggin' fun!
I also want to use this time to get my SP tattoo. Which I have a rough draft shape of already. heart

My funds fall from $460 saved to $300 because I have to take some to help cover rent and new tires. I really need to get more goddamn hours. I work 5 days next week so hoora for that, I just hope it can keep up - but I really hope I can get a new job.

I also want to use this time to get my SP tattoo. Which I have a rough draft shape of already. heart I hope people will be up for the pre-con SP meeting. Otherwise, I might see everyone for years... if I can't make it to the CON. : < I have about $3,000 in my savings ( -$1,600 for my Chile ticket and the rest is what I'll be living off there until I can get a job). Preeease, SP-ers. Let me know what you think about meeting up beforehand.
Gah, can't wait to see it, Scully. x3 I still have to edit my design a bit.

Are we aiming for BEFORE the convention or AFTER? What works best for everyone?

Either is OK by me too, I just need to know so I can center my tickets around it. Not that I have the money to get them anyways...

Either way, we'll be up for anything!
We just want to seeeeee everyone.
And Disneyland would be the s**t.
[EDIT] I just decided to click on the link to comic con page and they have the estimates up for 4 day passes: 79%! i.e. there's only 21% of 4 day passes left! This is far more advanced than expected. Buy tickets ASAP if you want 4 day passes.

CRAP.
See, the big problem is I really, really, really don't want to buy tickets and then not be able to get plane tickets. That would just be a waste of money and would make not getting to go 10x MORE depressing.
I think I'm going to get the tickets after the 11th, when rent is due. See what I've got and just go for it.

Comic con tickets are refundable until June, so you can get your money back if you don't end up going (Not that we want to consider that crying )
We'll be watching the percentage increase. It's updated daily, so we can see how it changes day to day.
[EDIT] Um, ok I read the fine print. Refunds don't come out until 30 days after Comic Con 2010 is finished, so...yeah the money you spend won't come back for like a year.

I don't think Lee and I will be able to get four day passes, we'll have to get just two day. As it is now I can pay rent and get two four day passes but I will be COMPLETELY drained of funds, where if next month I come up short on rent I won't have any savings to pull from and I have to consider my car safety inspection that is coming up and the likely hood I'll have to get new tires. crying
