Olivander can not stop the priori inctantem. The only thing he could do is give voldemort a new wand. It would make no sense to take him for that reason. He's hiding.

there isn't a way to prevent Prior Incantem tho.. Voldemort would know that wouldn't he?

What if Ollivander had something from Rowena Ravenclaw? Voldemort could have taken Ollivander so he wouldn't tell Harry about a Horcrux, if it existed. I mean, if Voldemort used one of Ravenclaw's objects to hide a part of is soul, it wouldn't be very suspicious to leave it with Ollivander, even if he didn't know what it was, would it? No one could guess Ollivander had a Horcrux, not even himself.

Oridaius Why was Olivander wizard-napped??? I could be one of the following: -To make it so Voldermort's wand doesn't do Priori Incantantem anymore -To cut off the production of wands to stop Harry from building an army against Voldermort. -To give Voldermort's infari wands -Just for the heck of it i think it was simply because he was the best wand-maker in the wizarding world, i mean there are others but they're simply not as good, can you stop Priori Incantantem though? i think he'd have to get a new wand for that... but i don't know... *shrug* sweatdrop

Olivander was the best wand maker out there, so wizards would have to buy less quality wands from less quality makers. Simple as that. Also, i don't think you can stop Prior Incantantem, you would need a new wand, but i'm not sure.

All the death eaters who were in Azkaban that escaped needed wands... somehow just strolling down Diagon alley walking in and asking for a wand while they are wanted criminals just doesn't seem to be an option.

I always though Ollivander was taken by Voldemort cause he wanted to know more about wandlore, and how he could make it so his wnad wouldn't do what it did in the graveyard in GOF.
