Anthy walks into the music room, her head bowed low, not paying attention to anything or anyone but her own twilight thoughts. She has locked and left the dormitary room, thinking Utena will be staying the night elsewhere.
She narrowly misses Rin vacating the seat -- though she probably would not have noticed even were the girl still seated there. Sitting upon the piano stool, she closes her eyes and drops her head so that the weight of her upbound hair causes it to hang forward, covering her face. She makes no noise, but slowly her face is cut through by a single hot tear from each eye, which leave shining trails down her cheeks.
Without looking up, she raises her hands to the keyboard and wanly forms a chord.
Then, as though her fingers are too weak to make the necessary movements but force themselves to do so anyway, she begins to play. [LISTEN] When she first begins to sing, her voice is slightly choked, but only to the degree that someone who knew her as well as Utena could have noticed. She clears her throat and repeats the first line:
Atsuku naru wa kokoro ga hajimete
koori tsuite'ta nanika ga tokete yuku

Something that was frozen is melting]

[Now, I am becoming myself]
Mamotte hoshii sono mune ni dakishimete
[I want to be protected hold me to your chest]
Yasashisa ga hoshii sono kata ni motaresasete
[I want kindness let me lean on your shoulder]
Anata wa anata wa watashi no watashi dake no ouji-sama dakara
[Because you are, you are, my, my only prince]
A deep sigh escapes her body as she allows herself to slump forward and rest her head on the keys.
