Louis-Auguste Robespierre SoViEtTaNkT34 the list is also majority of Trotskyist lit which depending which sect you are could be good or a bad thing. DAMN the US educational system must be ******** if you think 10 out of 45 books is a majority. Well though the fundamental mathematics are wrong, Tank addresses a good point. The guild doesn't promote one particular ideological sect so Unless you claim the "Master List" do be "My own master list" I don't think it is appropriate to speak of it as it was. The only works on Trotsky I would consider essential to the Marxist cannon would be The Revolution Betrayed, Terrorism and Communism, Results and Prospects and his various works on Fascism.

The only works on Trotsky I would consider essential to the Marxist cannon would be The Revolution Betrayed, Terrorism and Communism, Results and Prospects and his various works on Fascism. If we are going to list things essential to the marxist cannon, then we would have to agree what that list is in the first place, and what the cannon is. I chose books that are works essential to understanding Marxism. IMO, there should be more of each, but practical constraints kept me down to 10 each, plus the random 5. Rather than complaining about 'we don't favor one sect over another' (freedom of criticism much? =P ), you would do well to check them out, and see if they are actually representative of Marxist thought, and are accurate expositions of Marxist theory. But then, it is easy to say 'the guild doesn't promote one particular ideological sect', but looking at things, how would they really stand with a removal of Trotskyist literature, or an injection of Stalinist literature? The social life of the guild contains much celebration of Stalinism, though jokingly, and that cetrainly tips things in a given direction. That, and... When I make a list saying "This only contains s**t that can be found online and that I have read"... I think it should be pretty obvious where it stands. Nice try at demogogy though.
