"I hold nothing against your sex, I have seen many an outstanding female assassin, ones I'd never turn my back to. It is that I cannot see any appeal in this life for one so young. If I had children I'd object to them ever joining the Order. Our lifestyle is riddled with danger and secrets. Al Mualim is a mystery to me. I don't believe there is a perrson alive nor dead who could fathom his reason." He made a face, scrunching his eyes together and sort of half-frowning. "I can see you are hard to judge. You are indeed wise for your age." He would've offered to shake her hand but felt the gesture would've been awkward. He cleared his throat instead.

The man that Sin had cornered was sweating buckets by the looks of him. Wouldn't be surprised id he'd soiled himself as soon as that cold knife was pressed to his skin.

Zero gave him a bemused glance, then turned her gaze skyward. "Thank you." she said, nodding her head. She turned to where Sin had cornered the young man. "C'mon Sin," she called. "He looks to be naught more than a beggar. I wouldn't be surprised if you frightened him to his death."

((I'm just gonna wing it, 'cause I have no idea what's going on... xd If anyone wants to interact with my characters, feel free.))

The fierce female assassin unleashed a battle cry as she did a three hundred and sixty-degree spin on her feet, lashing out at her opponent with her chakram with as much force as she could. Her opponent jumped back, grinning at her from behind some strands of his black hair before uttering a taunt and lashing out at her skillfully with his sword, the two weapons clashing together loudly. The young woman panted softly as she struggled to push her twin back, a slow smirk appearing across her lips before she jumped back and returned her weapon to its resting position. "You're getting stronger everyday, Alec."
The young man grinned triumphantly, sheathing his sword and crossing his arms. "Thanks, Tasha. I appreciate the compliment. Mark my words, though, sis... one of these days, I will best you in a sparring match." "Yeah," she scoffed, shaking her head and turning to walk away. "That'll be the day."

Saqr heard the clashing of blades and spotted the pair a few rooftops over. He watched their foray for the short while that it lasted and then applauded.

He really wasn't a subtle assassin but being as he didn't have any assignments he didn't rightly care if he was spotted. A good chase would make his day at this point. In fact he'd been keeping his eyes peeled for any templars wandering the streets or alleyways. That was one thing that Al Mualim had allowed the guild members to persist, the erradication of the Knights Templar.

He grinned and then stepped back from the edge of the roof. "A little competition never hurt, eh? You've been dueling this way for a while now I can see, you've matched each other's movements well and know what to look for in their stance, very impressive." His massive arms were folded across his chest as he looked at them appraisingly.

He glanced over his shoulder. "You saw, them Zero. What say you?"

"What say I?" Lyra grinned and scratched the back of her head through her hood.
"They are quite the sibling rivals." she said, laughing. "However, not everyone fights the same way. But still, they are quite skilled."

Tasha looked at the two assassins with interest when they both complimented she and Alec's fighting skills. Smiling a bit, she nodded. "Thank you. And yes... my brother and I have dueled each other a lot over the years we have been part of the Creed, so we have memorized everything about the other's fighting style." She sighed, appearing a bit bored. "My apologies... I don't believe we have met. I am Tasha Mendolin, and this is my brother, Alec."

Alec grinned, looking at the male assassin and the female assassin with some interest in his dark eyes. "Nice to meet you."

"Ah, no we've not the pleasure of your acquaintance. I am Saqr." He noticed the young man's grin. "Curious to meet your competition?" He smirked.

Every assassin he'd met so far had been younger than himself. It was an odd thought to be one of the older ones in his profession and at only 32.

Zero nodded to the sibling assassins. "It is good meeting you." Finding there was nothing to left to say, she turned and resumed her survey of the city from the rooftops. A couple moments passed. She sighed and stared down into the street below, rubbing the bridge of her nose between her thumb and index finger. A silent frustration simmered within her. "There are no assignments." she stated loudly. "And I do not trust Al-Mualim." She turned, addressing the Sarq, Alec, and Tasha. "So what do we do?" she asked,"There is nothing for assassins who can't trust their own master."

Anan stepped quietly outside, letting the warmth of the mid-afternoon sun spread through her body like warm honey. Smiling softly to herself, she looked out at the streets from the walkway of her lavish home. A morning in the market all to herself, she thought happily and began to walk towards the front gates.

"Anan!" A voice called out behind her and she suppressed a sigh.

"Yes father?" She asked politely, turning to greet the stout little figure hobbling towards her, having a hard time not tripping over his flowing robes.

"I just came to bid you a good day." He said, forced to look up at his tall daughter, a fact that perturbed him daily. She was growing into a fine young woman, soon ready to be married off.

The corners of her mouth drew up in a small smile and her eyes softened. "Thank you, father." As she turned to leave again, her father's voice halted the action yet again.

"Also, I've heard there are numerous sightings of Assassins lately..." He trailed off into uncomfortable silence, a silence that spoke volumes of his worry for his daughter.

"I'll be safe, father." She reassured him gently and then opened the gates to step into the road, excited to be out by herself for the first time in almost eight years. Adjusting the strap of her bag on her slim shoulder, Anan looked quickly into the inside of her bag. From the dim rays of light that had penetrated the inner folds of the cloth, she could just make out the outline of the Assassin's dagger hidden there.

This brought her mind back to the mysterious encounter with the young Assassin so many years ago. She let her mind wander back to that day, and recalled the details from the foggy mists of her memory.

He had had very vivid grey-blue eyes, wearing a guarded expression on a warily closed visage, scars clearly visible on tanned skin beneath the deep cowl of his hood. He was about her age...

Suddenly she snapped her mind back into the present, shaking herself slightly. Anan smiled at the memory of the young Assassin, he had been quite handsome too...

She started off at a brisk walk to the marketplace, unaware of the Assassins gathering on a nearby rooftop.

(Nervous for first post, how'd I do?)

((for a first post, you did great! ^_^))

Tasha narrowed her eyes slightly at Zero, frowning. "You do not trust Al Mualim?" Sure, Al Mualim was a very enigmatic character who was usually very guarded and strict toward the assassins, but Tasha and Alec were indebted to him. He had taken them in and accepted them into the ranks of the assassins when no one else would kindly take them in. "And... why is that, exactly?" Alec flinched slightly at the somewhat venomous tone in his sister's voice, frowning. Oh boy... Here we go... The last thing he needed was to get in the way of his sister when she had qualms with someone, so Alec backed away a bit and absently looked down at the town below. His eyes widened a bit when he saw a pretty young woman walking through the marketplace and he smiled slightly. He couldn't help but wonder who she was. Reckless as usual, Alec made sure no one's attention was on him before backing away some more and climbing down from the roof, his feet touching down upon the sandy ground below. Keeping a calm facade, he made his way out to the clustered street and followed after the girl.

Anan cocked her head at the aging merchant and then glanced down at the necklace again. She couldn't help but wonder...was he overcharging her again? As if reading her mind, the old street urchant gave her a large, toothless grin. "I asure you," He rasped. "This is fair price." Anan pursed her lips in thought.

"No thank you." She said sweetly, smiling dispite the shopkeeper's evident dissapointment. Turning to leave, she felt a prickle on the back of her neck, getting the feeling she was being watched. Spinning around in the crowded marketplace, her eyes darted over the faces. Seeing nothing particularly suspicious, Anan turned around...and ran straight into a young man. "I'm sorry." She apologized, looking up at him.

Alec smiled a bit at the young woman and shook his head when she apologized for accidentally running into him. No harm was done, after all, so he didn't think it was that big of a deal. "It's alright," he assured her. "Was that merchant charging exorbitant prices again?" He sighed, putting his hands on his hips and shaking his head. "He does that to everyone... I wouldn't worry too much about it."

Zero was silent for a moment. Dusty wind whirled around them, and an eerie hush had fallen over the fellow assassins. "Because..." she said slowly, trying to decide her words. "He is a cunning deciever. He is greedy and I do not think he is working for the greater good." Unless, of course, the greater good is himself. she thought. She bowed her head. "I am sorry, it is quite hard to explain. But I have my own reasons for not trusting him." She walked to the other side of the tower, facing a green valley. "I must go." She leapt from the tower and was out of sight. A loud, familiar thud told the others that she landed into a convenient pile of hay.

Anan felt her lips twitch upwards in a smile. She rather liked this young man. "It doesn't matter much, he and I have a long history." She found herself staring at his garb; it radiated familiarity but she couldn't quiet place why. His outfit was dark, sleek, and made for unseen movement. Her eyes flicked over his weapons, then to his eyes.

She felt a growing suspicion inside of her, but didn't want to voice it lest he take offense. "So what brings you here?" She asked amiably.
