avien ducked as if she expected somthing to fly at her head "what did i do?!"
sundin nodded and thought for a moment but then dismissed the thought "will you tell me about helms deep?" she asked her uncle, true he had never gotten around to telling her of it. aras herself seemed rather intruiged by the idea and moved closer to haldir

Haldir visibly paled. He hated going into that battle, mainly because he had nearly died. "Well I... I uh..." but the looks from both Sundin and Aras were too much, "As you wish." he said with a smile. "But where to begin?"

Rumil looked to Orophin and vice versa before the two just stared at Avian. "Again?!"

aras and sundin had noticed haldir pale and made a silentm mutal agreement "if you do not wish to tell us, melth, then surly you must have many stories up your sleeve" she said smiling. Sundin nodded on agreement

Haldir shook his head, "Nay... I just... I will tell you." he said, looking away for a moment. "When we arrived at Helm's Deep, we knew that the Men thought their situation hopeless. They rejoiced at seeing us, for they never imagined for help." Haldir smiled slightly, "Aragorn and Legolas were overjoyed at our appearance. While I let Aragorn take over command of my contingents, I helped prepare and bolster the warriors. When the battle started... Ai, the rain!" the Marchwarden said with a sigh, "I think it was my undoing... as well as the death of many soldiers. When Aragorn shouted to me that we were to return to the keep, I forgot about my own place in the ranks and ushered my kin quickly along the wall. Though Elves can see well in such stormy weather, we are not as equipped for it as Orcs and Uruk-Hai. My eyes were full of stinging raindrops. My hair was clung tightly to my face, as was my cape. My armour felt cold, even against my temperature impervious skin. It was miserable weather, and I pity those humans who were out in it that cold and wet night. However, I was not paying much attention to my enemies, my attention on those who were rushing into the Keep." The Lorien Elf smiled slightly, "But I suppose this is not really the type of story you were hoping for."

"Well yes but... they..." Rumil started. Orophin finished for his brother, "Did not have them this fast."

Sallia blinked at him, clinging to the boots. "What boots? They're mine." She managed a shy little smile, stealing a kiss. She was trying to cheer him up, at least a little; she knew he needed it. When he didn't yield, she did, handing the boots back. She felt a little dizzy, but nothing major. "So what do you plan on doing?" she asked bluntly, going from joking to calm, quiet and serious almost instantly. She just stared up into his eyes boldly, and yet she was passive and tranquil both with her words and her gaze. The best word to describe her eyes would be piercing, ocean-colored spheres seeming to see through each facade, questioning, secretive, reserved. Just hazy blue-green orbs, nebulous and misty, as if she was holding back something of her own. She felt like she knew, regardless of what he said; she didn't want to believe it, but whatever he did, she felt an obligation to support him; not because he was her husband, but because she loved him and knew he'd do the same for her. She was silent for a long time, unblinking, waiting.

"What do you think I will do, meleth?" Legolas asked as he sat back, putting his boots on. "Nufeniel and Melkor want me. They have my sister. What else can I do but give in to their demands." he looked away, not wanting to meet his wife's eyes. "I have learned before what denying them means. If I walk to my death, so be it. To be honest with you... I am tired of fighting..." the prince finished with a whisper, still not meeting his love's eyes.

Alandis followed the group that were directed toward the spring by Sallia. She stayed in the back, her hands clasped in front of her as she watched as one by one, people were lowered into the water. Her two colored eyes spotted two different characters, Talli and Legede. Those two men weren't just simply burned, but they looked like they had been crushed or gotten into a fight with the orcs. She checked the Captain first, noticing his back was severely burned, meanwhile there was bruising on his ribs. But when he was placed in the steaming waters she did not have a chance to find anymore wounds. She watched as slowly, the red and black of the skin was returning to the pale color to match the rest of his body. His cuts mend, and the blood wash away. But she did steal a glimpse to the rogue next, quickly noticing the change of his form. He was leaner, but she could recognize him simply because of the dark skin and red hair he bore. What had changed? Surely the fire back in Eden Cuil couldn't have drastically affected how he looked, and not to mentoin having improved his looks. But at the same time he lost his uniqueness. The Healer scratched the side of her head, pulling away the longer brown strands of hair away from her face as she stood by and watched the effects of the enchanted waters. By now her frustration was hard to conceal, but she kept silent on her opinions.
Sario sat down by a tree, since indeed, it was all she could do. Her hands hurt, and to try climbing her way up into the house would only increase the pain and agony. That's all she felt as well, just a dull pain that would flare up as she wiggled her fingers or turned her wrist. The Maia leaned her head back, becomming quickly secluded and anti-social. The mood was both relief and sadness with the survivors, but she herself remained depressed. Now what? She had screwed up again and gave Legolia the necklace, which was important to Sallia. And even so, she let the princess get captured. Drawing her legs up to her chest, she draped the semi-grey, semi-white dress of her knees, thinking.

Legede's eyes opened and he hissed, the waters aggrivating his wounds, while at the same time healing them. The captain knew however, that the scar on his chest, would not fade no matter what occurred. And to top it all off... it burned. Looking over, Legede saw Talli. He was actually half tempted to try and drown the rogue where he lay, but realized that attempting such a feat might put him into more trouble than before. Closing his eyes, Legede tried to force the memories of the last couple hours from his mind.

"How do your wounds fair?" came a quiet voice, Alandis crouching down behind Legede. She was wary to follow into the water, but she also had no reason to. She was spared any wounds, except for a slight stinging in her back where the orc had hit her earlier. Curiousity was overtaking her displeasure, and she wanted to record the experience. As much as she hated it, slowly the idea of learning magic was coming to the woman's mind.

Sallia looked away as well, silent for a long time. "Ironic, isn't it..." The elven woman stood up, looking out over the hills. "When we first met, I would have been the one to say that...and.... now, it's like we've switched sides. You walk towards death welcoming it..." One hand moved to her hip, resting on the hilt of her sword. "Have things changed so much that there is nothing dear for you to fight for anymore?" She was hurt, in all honesty, but she was trying to be compassionate. "I understand you're tired... No one wants conflict, no one wants to fight. Except maybe Shanra... It wouldn't be logical for anyone but him. That's all he's known, well, and women... My point is, that's normal to feel tired of that, but if you're going to just give up.... Don't you think they'll kill her anyhow? What if that happens, did you ever think of that???" She crossed her arms, turning away and biting her lip. Ohhhh, she would not cry. If there was one thing she wouldn't do, she would NOT cry. "Then you will have thrown everything else you had away, like your father, and Vala, and me..." She wanted to scream, "How do you think that makes me feel?!!!" at the top of her lungs, but she had more control than that; he had his feelings also. She wasn't going to cause more ruckus than was necessary. She loved him, she would be considerate for the most part. "Do you remember what you felt like every day that I was gone...?" she whispered now, arms still crossed like she was hugging herself. "Imagine that, but worse, knowing that after you were finally able to release that sorrow by returning to him, he is gone now, dark and the lover of Melkor's harlot... That even if you do ever see him, he will never be the one you knew and loved before, that you can never touch his hand without his striking you. Perhaps I'm being selfish... Really selfish... I guess I can't help it... I'm sorry." She became silent again, gazing out beyond the mountains as if to find an answer.

Legolas was silent for a long time. The problem was, she was also right. He stood, looking away still. "What would you have me do?" the prince asked. "I must go to her. Sallia, my sister means the world to me, just as you do, as Vala and my father do. I would do the same for any of those so very close to my heart.... but I know I can not survive their hands again. I will die if I go to Mordor, and I am not afraid of that death. Yes, I do not want to leave you and our son. Yes, I would do anything to save my sister. But..." Legolas turned, watching Sallia closely for a moment before taking her hands from about her arms and holding them in his own. "But I do not want to hurt you, nor to see you cry, meleth nin. Once before I was a pawn of Nufeniel's, twice actually, but that first time... when I was a soulless shell... I cursed my harshness and the things I had done. I hated myself, but you forgave me. You always forgave me... And yet... Yet I do not expect you to for this. I HAVE to go, Sallia. What else can I do?"
~~~
Legede looked up to Alandis, but he did not smile. "My wounds will heal..." he whispered, looking away. "Most of them anyhow." the captain's eyes locked on those of the Healer once again, "How did we come to be here?"
Alandis remained crouching, her hands in her lap. She thought on the question for a moment, before she shrugged. "It was all chaotic, really," she explained. "One minute we were in Eden Cuil, or what was left of it, and then here...In this place. Sallia's home to be exact." The Healer looked Legede in the eyes, before her gaze fell onto the spring in general. "From what I could gather is that this is the only safe place for us all at the moment. Mirkwood was ruled out due to the fact that it has been abandoned."
"Then would your permit me to take your place, Legolas?" Sario walked up to the two, first drawn by the yelling Sallia had done. By now she had grabbed a hint of the conversation, but knew the topic all too well. It was familiar territory after all. "I have been planning to head to Mordor anyways to face off against Melkor, but now that this is a rescue mission...Xarik'n and I have been discussing it, or had been before the attack, but now I think I could serve better as a distraction so that he can get your sister." The Maia shrugged, turning her head so that her eyes looked to the trees. "It is my fault after all, and I want to make up for it," she looked at Salia now, "and also for you too."
Sallia shook her head. "I told of my dreams too late. I could have prevented it. I take some of this blame upon myself as well; I was in the city when I should have been outside fighting." "Well then, it's settled." Xarik'n exclaimed, popping in out of nowhere as he usually did. "By the way, Legede and Talli, they're kinda sinking to the bottom of the pool." Sallia shrugged. "It's alright. Like they're going to die. They can breath that stuff, actually. Leave them there for as long as they need to heal. They'll cough a lot when they surface, yeah, but they'll be fine." "Oh, ok." Xarik'n smiled cheerfully. Sallia looked up at Legolas. "Besides, unlike you, I've never been possessed by her or anyone... The closest I came to that was Nazaroth, when I would collapse. I might be able to resist her better, being a woman myself...Perhaps I would not be so easily seduced. I could be wrong, but it's a possibility for Sario and I..." She closed her eyes, thinking. "If you're going to die, I refuse to let you go.... Or go alone, at least. I cannot leave our son without parents...." She dropped off. If Legolas died, she already knew she would eventually die of despair. She might last a bit longer from her drive, but there was more of a chance that it would slack off and she'd die of heartbreak instead of by the blade. She wouldn't cry, though... Well, she might later, but she would at least wait until no one was around. She loved everyone, but the thought of letting people get too close to her was a bit scary. "We come up with a plan. No martyrs, everyone who wants to be involved will be. We'll infiltrate, retrieve, distract, whatever we have to do. It is far better to attack with a strategy than haphazardly." She was beginning to sound more like a time-hardened general than herself, partially through her vicious self-control and overly critical eye for detail and strategies. "Get together every general we can. We have something to draw out."
Sario looked at Sallia, her face seeming to soften at the woman's words. If they all worked together, no one would die. But if they were all there, the Maia would worry more for everyone's safety than fighting the enemy. It wasn't like she had a choice anyways. "First off, I'm all for the plan of facing against Nufeniel and Melkor. Sallia and I can take on the two, if only for a little bit. This doesn't have to be a full on assault, but a rescue mission if anything else..." she paused, her mind going over every available fighter and anyone who is of use. "Shanra could be the big distraction, after what he did with the orcs back in the first battle."
