Alright! I saw it!
I do not know anyone's movie tastes, but I thought it an excellent movie! Action-y, and interesting. I did have a fewwww little hangups about very minor historical details, but besides that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and whole-heartedly recommend it!
Jude Law is beautiful. crying

My little brother ran off with his friends last night and saw this. When he comes over I must demand a review. (he and I have very similar tastes)

I thought the movie was pretty good!
One thing did bother me though- halfway into the movie, Holmes and his bud are digging through the house of the red haired midget, when this huge dude busts in on them and tries to mess them up.
During the fight, Holmes uses a shock device to send an electric charge through some pipes to a guy holding a dagger with the tip touching the pipes.
It just bothered me that it actually worked. I'm pretty sure back then everything was made out of lead (It was cheap, and even put into food.) which does not conduct electricity.

I saw this Christmas Day and despite my tendancy to pick apart any movie based off a book I enjoy I really liked it. The movie was fun and fast paced, though the obvious "Omg sequel!" ending did make me roll my eyes. Nothing is a stand alone movie anymore.

Psh, Jude Law is alright, but Robert Downey Jr. is where it's at!

Enjoyed this film's flirtatious nature. If you didn't catch everything they were saying the first time, the spectacle of wit and men in dashing suits made me thirsting for seconds. Very different from the books, but the whole package of screen chemistery between the actors, the costuming and set design, and that ear catching scripted banter was just what I needed to finish up a rather dull year. Made me want to run off and explore and trade perseptive observations with my dear friend who went along with me to see it.
One that which I loved from the film was that knowing Holmes... one always knows that he should be watched at all costs. For if something catches his eye it probably bears remembering. That had me going the whole film long.

I thought it was a great film, but I have a few historical hang-ups about it... and there were parts I didn't like. But then again, to me Sherlock Holmes = Jeremy Brett.
Jude Law, though, reminded me so much of a childhood friend's father, it's not even funny. surprised

Ok, just got back from the cinema.
that was an AWESOME film. (although my butt aches from trying to slouch in the not-so-comfy chairs...)
i have to say, it was definatly one of my films of the year, and not a moment too soon to make that list.
best quote:
Inspector Lestrade: "In another life Holmes, you might have been a brilliant criminal."
Holmes: "And you might has been a brilliant Inspector."
the caustic attitude holmes had for lestrade was brilliant, and really added to the character development throughout the film. can't wait for the sequel now.
