((There is one book, but not a novel, that isn't on the list: "The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel Of Time"

It is written by Robert Jordan and Teresa Patterson, and is a compilation of all of the knowledge in the world of the Wheel of Time, even some stuff not said in the books.

And although I haven't read all of your guide, it seems great from what I have. If you want, I can submit all the details on linking...))

That book is hated by WoT fans for a good reason. It's horrible, and a waste of money.

(( Gaidin: Ya, I have looked into that book. I'll add it, I was really just putting the actual novels, but to add it would probubly be useful. Thank you. ^^ All of the details on linking? sweatdrop I have no idea what you just said. lol.))

Well, I was just checking in case you had forgotten it, 'tis your guide...

As for linking, I am talking about that it takes a man in a link to go beyond 13 in a circle of women, and that in a circle of mostly men, after two men there must be at least as many women as men in the circle to add more men, and that the men lead in that case and so on and so forth. I could explain in greater detail and clarity if you want.

Ghavrel - I myself am a WoT fan, and I like it actually. It is a very good source of info on the WoT, and all in one place. Not to mention it tells of things that you don't find out in the books. Yes, the info only goes up to about book 7 or 8, but it has history and such that would take hours to find going through the novels, if you can find it there at all. Also, for people who try to acquire WoT things, it is a must have.

Bah. You can find all the information you need on Encyclopedia WoT. The only thing I found interesting about the big white book was its section on the AoL. Otherwise, a simple visit to WoTmania or any other big WoT site gives you more than enough information.

I loved it and yes it does give more information than you can find online and alot of the stuff you can find online is there because of that book. Also please don't say it is hated by Wot fans because I a dedicated Wot fan love it and personaly own that book and consult it frequently. What you said was a generalzation. The book gave information about the other conteinants of wheel of time like the place of mad men which is not mentioned in the books so far so if you found it online you did because of that book.

((Hope you don't mind me adding an entry to your list Az!))

The "How to"s of WoT

I figured we'd need these sooner or later...so we might as well have them.

How a meeting of the Hall of the Tower goes.

Notes:

-the Amyrlin is always informed of the Hall sitting. However, nothing forbids them from starting before she arrives.

-It is law that the Amyrlin cannot enter the Hall without being properly announced by the Keeper of the Chronicles.

-I couldn't find the exact thing, but I know the ritual phrases go along these lines. "She comes, she comes...the Flame of Tar Valon, the Amyrlin Seat."

-The Keeper usually cannot enter the Hall without the Amyrlin.

- Traditionally, the Keeper does not participate in discussions. After announcing, she typically only speaks to signal attention to the Amyrlin, to bring order back to the Hall in cases of..er...heated..debate, to ask general questions, announce witnesses or others to come into the Hall, or to read aloud articles relating to the topic. In short, most of the time, nothing she says actually has any relation to the decision.

-The two oldest Sitters (in terms of how long they've served) get to have their Ajah sit closest to their Amyrlin. After this, it depends on who gets there first and wants to sit where.

- Generally, out of an Ajah's Sitters, the sister who sits in the middle seat for her Ajah has the greatest respect. ((At least I think so.)) Different Ajahs and sisters do this differently.

- Most decisions require the greater consensus. After this, the lesser consensus will be asked to stand. It is customary for them to do so, but not required.

- Either the Amyrlin or the Keeper may ask the ritual questions (Who's in favor? Who's not? Why? etc.). This is up to the Amyrlin.

ORDER OF MEETING

1) The Keeper enters (with the whole official outfit: thin blue stole, golden staff of the Keeper, etc.). She goes to the dais of the Amyrlin Seat and stands at the base of it.

2) She then announces the Amyrlin by saying the ritual phrases. "She comes, the Watcher of the Seals. The Flame of Tar Valon. The Amyrlin Seat. She comes, she comes. Attend you all, for she comes!." She hits the marble floor with her staff 3 times to finish.

3) The Amyrlin enters and all the Sitters are to stand. She walks across the flame in the center of the floor, and makes her way to the Seat. She then sits down.

4) The Keeper announces, "What is brought before the Hall of the Tower is for the Hall alone to consider. Whosoever intrudes unbidden, woman or man, initiate or outsider, whether they come in peace or in anger, I will bind according to the law, to face the law. Know that what I speak is true; it will and shall be done."

5) The Amyrlin is to nod, and at that point, the Sitters may retake their seats in their respective Ajah's section of the Hall.

6) Then, the meeting begins. The matters will be discussed in order, starting with the Amyrlin and moving downwards by age. To decide a situation, the situation will be posed and those in favor will be asked to stand. If it is the greater consensus, the decision passes. If not, it may either be rejected, or else it may be re-opened for discussion and re-voted upon. At any point, the Amyrlin may stop the repeating process and set the most recently taken vote as the Hall's decision.

7) After everything is said and done, someone (I guess the Amyrlin) declares the sitting complete, and everyone is free to go!!

*****************

((Wow...that took a lot longer than I expected. I'll add the novice raising and Accepted raising later!))

Thank you! This is very nice as I need to brush up every once in a while, and I don't own the books. In fact, I don't plan on reading the books again, because it just takes way too long! It took me 2 weeks to read all of them! Usually it only takes me a few days or so to read books, so I was very glad when I was done with them. I will read the eleventh one when it comes out though.

I know what you mean! I find myself rereading ALL of them each time a new one comes out!

According to Tor, it *may* come out October 11, 2005.
