O'zen: *ignoring Rean* Oh, my mistake, Fonar. I impressed bronze. And, for once, I must agree with F'ris that there is NOTHING feminine about bronzeriders. *snort* Bah, experience! That doesn't matter if you're too spineless for the job. You went into hysterics when Sevina simply said she preferred felines - how would you react to a real threat, like Thread?

me: I just had a thought... If greens make up over half the dragon population then over half of all male dragon riders are fruity? I dont know about that... Actualy it would be more because blues also go for slightly less than 'masculine' personalitys... right? It makes me think that may be slightly off in calculations... because I dont think there would be so many people on pern if the dragon statistics where anything to go by... Unless bi was big... Like in Rome and greece

But you're forgetting that no everyone in pern is a dragonrider. There are a lot more holders and crafters than there are Dragonriders. Also, if there aren't enough female candidates than the dragons would impress upon male candidates. Female riders weren't always accepted. In the first book the only female candidates were for the gold egg, if I recall.

I understand that not everyone is a dragon rider, and that maybe they pick all the 'less than masculine' men... But I was thinking, so say there was 800 dragons in Benden(I know there are and have been more)) at least 400 would be green and another say 100-200 would be blue... and say this is in around the time women didnt Impress greens... Thats ALOT of at least bi men... I think its interesting.

Keep in mind that a guy may be feminine, but he can still be straight (just look at O'zen! I swear he's on constant PMS.) And masculinity or femininity isn't the only quality that dragons impress by. Maybe a guy impresses a blue because he lacks leadership skills. Maybe he impresses a blue because he's a daredevil and a showoff. Maybe he impresses a blue because he's a social butterfly. Etc.
Also, I think greens can impress to straight men as well.
o_O Benden had 800+ dragons at one point? That's funny, since Benden only has a capacity of 600 dragons - er, that's what my sources say. Regardless, it's still a large number.
