The Fascists are an enemy, a danger to Communism, and must be stopped.
  Absolutely

If this is the case it is in clear violation of the rules we've had for eons, considering it was always procedure for other moderators being involved. Banning persons with no notification to the guild, and without any discussion amongst various council members is an extremely dangerous precedent. I will post a political rejoinder to false accusations and slander against the Soviet Union later.

We have fascists popping in during an election. It is really that simple.

Normally we could have due process, and all of that, but I took this upon myself as an extraordinary measure to ensure that the guild elections happen as moothly as possible.

If you want to endanger the guild out of some legalistic fetishism, go ahead. There is no way I will do that.

Blither all you want gracchvs you broke the rules - I hereby declare that anybody who votes against me is clearly a fascist sympathizer. This is why you do not establish that sort of precedent. I also don't believe any of them intended on voting - and even if they did - would they run? and if they did who would vote for them?

I also don't see why this is a sticky - particularly because it could contain slander and there's no procedure to actually fact check its accusations. Obviously one of them had a swastika on his profile - but this is not pointed out or made note of in any way.

Would it have been so difficult to follow standard procedure? They could have been stripped of voting right or banned long before the elections began.

I stickied it so the names aren't lost. Not to promote slander, but so that we have the names in one place if people want to contest the decision. If they deny it (and none of them have, the most I got was a 'how dare you' comment on my profile) and want to be let in, that can be done after the election.

Now onto your petty legalism: You ask 'who would vote for them?'
They would, of course. That there were subsequently join requests by people who had them friended and chatting happily in their profile comments section shows that this was not just a bunch of people, but a concerted attempt to injure, and possibly destroy the last leftist guild on gaia.

If they did in fact win the election, would you advocate giving them power?
You probably would, claiming that we could easily make a new Guild, however the obvious problem there is that would destroy any legitimacy for your claims of keeping the guild membership high for listings purposes.

No. I did what I feel was necessary. If you want to make a formal complaint against me, go ahead and do so, and we can play until this fun little sandbox is empty.

As for setting a precedent, unfortunately we don't have the guild constitution any more, and noone was on to confer with. I have no doubt that the majority of the active NCSers would support my decision in that context.

Again, in order to set ourselves apart from the stereotypical Stalinistic purges, we should not conduct witch hunts or assume that having members of other beliefs is a threat to our guild without following due process. There is a reason why we established the procedures outlined in the Constitution--moreover, we have no proof that they weren't just trolling to begin with. We ought not make enemies where enemies do not exist.

They weren't trolling. They are known members of fascist guilds and have been witnessed spewing their filth in GD's subforum.

And yet they were banned before they did anything to merit banning.

Also, I would like to propose that this thread be un-stickied.

Their existence is enough to merit expulsion from this guild.

And this thread is to remain stickied.

We will take a vote as to the status of the thread.

Ignorance is a greater threat to our cause than fascism will ever be.

Cruelty and human rights violations are inexcusable, in the name of any ideology. We do not condone such activities under any circumstances.

Rights such as Human rights are anti-Marxist even Young Marx talked about this, for they produce inequality. So why not violate something that produces inequality? Its also just petty bourgeoisie humanist ideology as well.

This will remain an argument where we agree to disagree. Marx's final vision was one in which these rights were upheld. Whether or not we call them "human rights" is a linguistic argument, not a theoretical one.
