juunishikyou I sent you a second banner, is that one more suitable? I haven't gotten to re-making the original, so I'll do that when I can. I haven't received the second banner. Can you send it again?

Y'know, I was thinking. I have flash on my computer. You used to have the list of things in your sig, so I was thinking, I could try (no guarantees, since I've used flash like, once) to make one that comes up with the different sentences/slogans etc, for the small one, and maybe the big one. I could try to make the whole thing link to the guild itself. Does that sound like something you'd like me to try? It might take a while, but I'm pretty confident that I could produce something decent.
Let me know your opinion, whether you want it for an ad in a sig, the small banner, a square icon, all three, or whatever. I'll do my best to make something that's suitable for the guild.
Oh, also, do we want a welcome image to spruce up the front page?
I don't know about images online, what the rights are and if we can use them, but I have a lot of images that I'VE taken that may work (though none quite go with the Japanese theme, I have scenery and such. Some cloud stuff) so if you'd like to check those out, I have a link in my profile. If you have an idea of something similar to what I have, chances are I may have it, so just tell me, and I'll look.
I know this is a lot in a post, but I kinda had a flood of ideas.

I think you should have a thread where you write down words that we use everyday, like hello, goodbye, etc. and the correct way to pronounce them.
ex: (you used this in the "basic japanese lessons" thread)
"Hiragana (pronounced "Here-ah-gah-nah")"
what do you think???

She's working on that with the basic lessons thread. I think, though, that since she's already said how the vowels were pronounced and such, that the pronunciation guides might not be necessary. I haven't really come across any words that differed from the standard pronunciation of vowels, though sometimes they are shortened (suki being pronounced ski, for example).

I agree with the need for sub-forums. The topic list is a bit chaotic. Also, I really think that we need a way to encourage people to be more active. Contests of some kind maybe? Small amounts of gold for particularly helpful posts etc?
I dunno what exactly, but we have so many inactive members.... And its pretty discouraging to join a guild whose main page talks about the other Japanese guilds being slow, and then find that you have no replies to your posts after a few days.
